Horrible automotive shop. From the front desk personnel to the mechanics to the owner, nobody is pleasant or has a good attitude at all and they act like they're being inconvenienced for even taking a phone call. So I had my wife take her vehicle in to have a free estimate for a transmission leak I had been told about at a precious shop. I didn't have time to take it myself but with the reviews I read, I believed it would be a safe place to send her where she wouldn't get taken advantage of. I was wrong. So they lifted the car and only did a visual inspection, nothing on the car was touched at all (I asked them to make sure) and they had the nerve to charge her $48. Again, no work of any kind was done and nobody physically touched the car to diagnose anything and what was better was that the front desk person didn't know what to charge and he asked the owner that said "I don't know, charge her $48." This isn't a place anyone wants to go and with them treating women like this and taking advantage of them, don't send your wives, girlfriends, or mothers.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I blew a rod in my engine and came here to have it replaced. This was by far the worst decision I could have made. They went out and bought a junkyard motor, then while putting it in they neglected to check any of the internals (at least that's what they said) and there were stripped screws from other cars in my engine block that had no place being there. On top of that 3/4 camshafts they installed were damaged to the point that they were gushing oil and still they said nothing. It had a 90 day warranty and within that 90 days my check engine light came on and I had noticed since the fix that there was leaking oil and rough idling. So I went in and had my mom take my car in and they tried to charge her $100 for looking at the car while it was under warranty so I demanded it be removed and it was but still... They sent us both away and said that there was nothing with the car. So later I had to take it in to another shop and on my first visit there they told me that nearly all my gaskets were leaking and that my car was idling rough b/c of a broken part. So I had to pay and additional $4900 to undo the damage that I was originally billed over $5000 for when I took my car in to get the engine swapped. I called and emailed the new owner (had no problems with old owner) and it was the most unprofessional display I have witnessed in all my business interaction, he ignored me and then claimed he wasn't responsible for the new damages, when the new shop I took it into said this was one of the worst hack jobs they have ever seen. He most likely denied any problems with the car during the 90 day warranty to appease me till it expired so he could say "too bad its outside the 90 days" to avoid inducing any additional cost to uphold his warranty.THIS IS THE SHADIEST SHOP IN WA. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!

I've been going to Dalton's for over 30 years. Local service recommended by local gear heads. Small, independent, fair pricing. I've had my snow tires changed over by them for years, much less than the big tire stores, in and out quickly. When I'm there I see a mix of vehicles, old and new. Nice to see a shop where they know how to troubleshoot and not just swap parts. So much better than an expensive dealership especially if your car is out of warranty. This is one independent shop you should try if you're out of warranty, it'll save you a lot of money and time. When SR9 was widened at 180th the state tore down their original building... bummer... but I was very relieved to learn they moved two lights north at 164th and SR9. Their new location is so much easier to get in and out of. Across from the old berry bowl if you have lived around there long enough to remember that! Easy parking (with a view!), nice location, safe egress. The county limits signage so it's not easy to spot them, they're on the northwest side of the corner. Seems like the county does everything possible to hurt small businesses in our area. While waiting you can wait in a clean waiting room, or you can walk across the street to eat, shop western, or shop for hardware. Midway Service also sells and installs AMSOIL synthetic lubricants, engine, transmission, axles or transfer case, all to 100% proven synthetic! And they do custom exhaust work, and I was surprised to learn they actually work on differentials and axles, or a carburetor! They won't rebuild an engine or transmission, but they will swap them with professionally rebuilt units. They know cars and trucks. It's so nice being able to talk to an actual mechanic and get an idea of what is needed. Support your local mechanic. Shop around, get quotes and then talk with these folks, they want a chance to make you a regular. I've known the owner and some of the mechanics there for a long time, it's good to know I can recommend this place to friends and not worry about them being ripped off or mistreated. If you should have a problem, talk to them, give them a chance. Getting a car repaired can be stressful, expensive and frustrating. Sometimes there can be multiple problems that aren't realized until you get in there, but that's true if you're at a dealer or an independent... I'd rather take a really complex problem to an independent like Dalton's because I know it'll end up costing a lot less and they'll make it right.

I have taken my BMW to Broad Stroke Associates a couple of times so far. First time the problem was properly diagnosed and fixed. Second time it was just a vacuum hose which they fixed for free. Amy was nice and professional; keeping me informed through-out the process.

I was at a pivotal point in my life. My pony of four years was starting to show its years (Check Engine Light came on a month prior and set me back $1000 at shop in Everett), and I was just contemplating....will this car last me for another 100k miles??
I was sad. Because my Silver Bullet (a silver '09 MINI Clubman) has been a fun car. So, while I was contemplating where to go next in my life (OK, it's just a car...I just have a flare for the dramatic!), I came across stellar reviews of a BMW/MINI shop in Snohomish. I was due for an oil change, so I called up. They were able to fit me in on a Saturday when I'd be in the area. (I've gone only to the Dealerships for service, but they are always booked up, and they can be pricey, and I've never been 100% confident on their work).
So bright and early on a Saturday I dropped my rig in. The woman at the front desk greeted me nicely and checked me in. I hung out in their waiting room (it was adorned with nice leather couches...not sure if it's theirs, but I jumped on to a wifi network nearby). I also chatted with Parker (think he's the owner of the place?), and he was nice and had good answers to questions I had.
Well, in under an hour my car was ready to go. The woman who checked me in walked me through what they did and what they saw as possible needs for the future, she knew her stuff. Definitely had a GREAT experience here, and look forward to coming here instead of the dealership for all of my MINI service needs!

Good shop to take your BMW and Mini. Very professional staff. Always on schedule and very knowledgeable and thorough. Better prices than the dealership by far -- though their hourly labor cost is lower than most independent shops, somehow their job quote total sum end up being higher in contrast to other independent BMW shops north of Seattle. It seems to come out of the parts price mark up and total number of labor hours. Perhaps it's their parts supplier or they are under staffed at times. In any case, their mechanics really know their BMWs. They take time explaining any issues and what steps to take to solve it.

Parker has been my BMW mechanic for over 5 years and has always done a great job and charged fair prices.
Amy and Parker are some of the nicest and most trustworthy people you can meet. I recommend them highly for any BMW repairs. Dan Loyola

I've been taking my 2001 330i to Broad Stroke for the past 3 years. I stumbled upon Broad Stroke after another popular independent on the Eastside quoted me $2k to do Inspection II. The reason for high cost was a laundry list of preventative maintenance they "always do at Inspection II". While the list itself was sound (in line with Mike Miller's "old school maintenance schedule"), I didn't feel like I was given a choice on doing this maintenance.
On the other hand, Parker quoted me labor for just the inspection and then called me with a detailed explanation of what he felt needed to be done right away and what could wait. Such transparency from a mechanic and letting customer take an educated part in maintenance of their vehicle is what I value most about Broad Stroke. As long as I have my E46, or any other BMW, I will continue to service it at Broad Stroke.

I realize that my Honda isn't exactly in their wheel house, so to speak, but Parker and the guys at Broad Stroke Associates serviced my my 06 Ridgeline with no complaints. They never tried to up-sell me on some junk that wasn't truly necessary. I feel comfortable referring anyone and everyone to their shop.
They under commit and over deliver every time!
THANK YOU!

Parker, Jared, Amy and the guys have done fantastic work on my 2 Mini's - everyone who works there seems to be ex BMW or Mini mechanics so they really know their stuff. They're great to talk to about potential work / modifications . . and are generally just really nice people! I wish they could work on my Volvo too!! Most importantly, for me, I have confidence in their ability to both diagnose problems and then solve them - and the quality of work they do is second to none. Also, they won't bankrupt you like the BMW or Mini dealer will! I live down in Seattle now but still travel up to Snoho for them to do any work thats needed on my car.

I had a Broad Stroke of genius (huzzah!) to take my grumpy old '87 735i to Parker. He's a Beemer whisperer and touched her in all the right ways. I'm proud of her again and I'm proud to recommend these guys for foreign auto repair, but they love BMWs.

If you have a BMW or a Mini this is simply the only place to go. Parker and Amy have an army of loyal followers which they have built solely on word of mouth. You will never find more knowledgeable, honest, hardworking people who are willing to give you a great price. The shop is classy and professional and the owners are focused on building long term relationships with their customers.

Before taking my 2001 BMW to any shop I called every dealer\shop that works on BMW's to get pricing checked and checked reviews, online. I was told about a BMW auto repair shop off of Highway 9 in the Clearview area by 4 different people and thought that I would check it out. I couldn't have been more impressed after my first visit. All of the staff is very professional, knowledgeable and they had above and beyond the best PRICING!!! This is the ONLY place that I would take my car and have no need to look anywhere else. It is a great feeling trusting an auto repair shop as many don't do quality work or the pricing is outrageous. I would recommend this repair shop to anyone and everyone. Well worth the drive for all your BMW repairs. Great Job Broad Stroke!!!!!

I took my BMW in to get it inspected after purchasing in Oregon. Broad Stroke is a throw back to the honest shop with integrity. I waited the 3 hours at the shop for my inspection to get done and what I saw during that time left me speechless. I saw a women come in and say my service brakes light is on I need new brakes. The tech came back 20 minutes later and told her she didn't need new brakes a sensor had fallen off and they had a spare in the shop and replaced it. While I was waiting another women came in and said her convertible top had been broken since last August and decided to get it fixed. Again a tech came back in about 10 minutes and told her a safety lever had just been pulled to prevent the top from working and sent her on her way after showing her. Two examples of a honest shop with integrity that also Knows BMW's. My inspection was very detailed and they did a great job. Broad Stroke has earned a new loyal customer.

I have been beyond impressed with Parker/Broad Stroke Associates. Parker has repeatedly done outstanding work on both my E46 BMWs (330Ci ZHP and 325i). He has diagnosed mechanical problems that other "experienced" BMW mechanics were not able to, he has worked on a wide range of suspension components on both my track car and daily driver, and he has also done an excellent job of performing thorough maintenance on my cars (filters, fluids, bushings, etc.). Before going to Broad Stroke, I had never received so much honest advice that was right on the money every time; every diagnosis has fixed the issue at hand. I look forward to continuing to bring Parker/Broad Stroke Associates my BMWs in the future.

Parker recently worked on my e36 M3 and did a great job fixing the oil leak and some other things. He knows everything about BMWs and takes the time to explain what's wrong and how he will fix it. His prices are reasonable and he uses high quality parts and oils. He is well worth the drive to Everett for other BMW drivers!! Thanks.
