Keen mechanics and great customer service

We are so thank ful to have met and had work done on our Subaru at Thomas automotive. Walter is an excellent mechanic. You could eat lunch off their floor it is so clean. Very personable and honest folks.

A few weeks ago we stopped in without an appointment to have a car checked out that we wanted to purchase for our children. The owners took the time to explain their schedule and asked if we would be willing to wait. We loved how he communicated with us and waited inside the very clean and inviting shop. Which by the way is a perfect example of how autoshops can be clean no matter how dirty it is in the working area. Anyhow, we did not have to wait long, he checked out the car, gave us his honest advice and an estimate for repairs. We chose to purchase the car and took it in this morning to start the repairs (We are fixing one thing at a time to better afford things). They provided us with an estimated cost and a time of completion. When the repairs started to move away from their original plan, they called and communicated each step of repairs and potential price increase. We really appreciated the time and effective communication we are given at this business. By the way, we had taken the car to another shop that we have always used and were not treated with the respect or given the time that we were at Thomas's. Thank you so much for helping us keep our kid safe!

Our family has been using Thomas Automotive for service and repair for more then 10 years. We were transferred out of the area, but 3yrs later brought our Honda in and it was as if we'd never been gone. They do excellent work at a fair price, and will tell you exactly what is wrong and if the car is worth the repairs needed. Very trustworthy and our family highly recommends this business.

I have been putting this review off for some time but it needs to be done before my next visit.
I was having a hard time getting another shop to diagnose my emissions problems (loose fuel cap, and evap system) but I managed to get the car smoged; $1500 dollars later and the symptoms showed up again shortly after.
I wanted to go to another shop but which one?
$1500 is not chump change for a smog especially when the check engine light lights up shortly after you get the car smoged.
I found Thomas Automotive and had them "smoke test" my evap system and they found a leaking canister valve (that was replaced by the previous shop). I got that fixed by Thomas Automotive and went back to the other shop to raise cane: but they were bought out my Mineki. I got the car smoged at Thomas but the check light came on shortly after.
Walter at Thomas Automotive seems like a nice guy and I believe he gave me his best, good faith effort and service which is why I am going back to his shop with this emission issue for my smog. I did some research and found what I believe is the issue: I will have to see if Walter is able to diagnose this issue and fix it permanently.
Because this issue was not resolved Thomas Automotive gets a 4 star rating till we fix it for good. Why would I give a shop 4 stars when they did not fix the issue? BECAUSE I feel Walter is acting in good faith and is trying to save me money.
Stay tuned for a follow up: things can go up or down a star.
Update: 4-2016: another successful smog season for Walter at Thomas!

I have used Thomas Automotive for many years. They have kept my 2002 Buick in good repair. They always explain what repairs are needed and what I can expect to encounter in the future. I have referred many friends to them because I know I can rely on them to be honest and give great service. One of my friends, Betty, said she was taking her car back to the dealership to have the same thing repaired. She took her car to Thomas Automotive and it was fixed correctly the first time. This is why I like using them and always refer my friends to them as well. Thanks guys for such a great job!

I don't know anything about cars, so probably the most important thing about auto repair places is that I can trust them. I ask a lot of extra questions because I don't want to spend money I don't need to. These guys are really straight forward, honest, and helpful, and I appreciate that.

Booked a Penske truck and trailer for my move to Texas, called and pushed the date back a couple of days. Moving is stressful and hard work, and I'm an old guy. :-) Showed up at noon to pick up the truck/trailer unit. They had already closed for lunch, but opened for me, got all the details taken care of, and despite my bank not helping, were extremely courteous and helpful. I'd use them again in a minute if I was not relocating. Great service and nice folks.

Thomas Automotive is the only place I will take my cars. Not only did they help me find an honest tow company to bring my Jeep, but they repaired the problem quickly and without giving me the run around about what was wrong. I've had them perform routine maintenance and bigger repairs, and each time I was treated with courtesy and given a fair price for great work. My father even brought his Mercedes in for work and they did a great job with his baby. I would recommend Thomas Automotive to anyone who needs work done on their vehicles!

We had a great experience with Thomas Automotive/Penske earlier this month for an out of state move. Preston helped us with our moving truck, and was especially courteous in securing the car trailer to the back of the truck and making sure we had all the info we needed to ensure a safe trip. Another moving company we utilized before would not even help us secure the trailer--we thought it was a liability thing--so we were very pleasantly surprised. We would definitely recommend Thomas Automotive/Penske to anyone for a positive experience.

they were recommended by two different people, who did not know each other, and I have been with them ever since. honest, reliable and very friendly. i don't have to shop anywhere else for excellent service i can trust specially a new driver, driving an old jeep, like i am, who has no clue at all what makes a car run. would recommend them to anyone who asks me where they can find a very good mechanic.
