Has been keeping my Jeep running for years

Over the last 4 years American Auto Air has kept my Jeep running, I couldn't be happier with the service.

I've always been very satisfied with their service.

In the past three years, I've had my car or truck over at American Auto Air maybe a dozen times for general repair. They've always treated me fairly and gotten the job done when they said they would.

Tom is a straight shooter.

Tom, the owner at American Auto Air, has worked on my car (four of them) since 1987. He's very professional, very straight forward, honest, and fair. I've had everything done in regards to maintenance, and I use their services exclusively.…

Fast, honest, and affordable.

I was looking at a used car and needed a mechanic to look at it. I was in and out in less than half an hour. I had all the information I needed to make my decision to proceed with the purchase.

I am restoring an 1994 Chevy truck. A car fanatic friend recommended American Auto Air. They repaired, recharged the air conditioner and put infrared dye in with the Freon (to id leaks, an older truck may leak again) for $145. Lucky for me it was an easy repair. The near by chain oil change place wanted $159 just for a Freon recharge that would have leaked out. My wife's Subaru had lots of leaks in labor intensive places and cost $442, ouch. If I had wanted to to some or all of the work they would have given me a print out of the work needed but there would have been a charge. I found American Auto Air to be professional, curtious and prompt. They cautioned me that when it is hot it may take a week or so to get in.

They do ALL repairs and I wouldn't take my cars to anyone else. They are honest and very good at what they do.

I brought my car here after taking it to another shop to fix the broken heater. The other shop quoted me $1,200. I thought that was outrageous, so I brought it to American Auto Air. They fixed the problem and charged me $700 less then the other place quoted. These guys seem honest and reasonable.

My girlfriend and I are from New York and we bought an RV for Burningman. When we got to it, we realize we need some connection for mechanic to tune the engine and have emission test done for DMV. Not knowing anyone, we called several places and by intuition and feel of professional approach I decided to go with American Auto Air. They were fast, professional and very fair. The RV failed the first emission test as expected, so they tuned it and it passed. It took about and 1 1/2 hour, they charged me $95.90 I did tip the mechanic, he was very nice and knowledgable. The owner was accurate on estimate cost. I left happy and will come again. Thank you guys!

Has a cooling system leak. They identified the bad component in a matter of minutes (heater control valve) and the owner (Tom Rankin) gave me a quote. The fix was done in under two hours - while I waited - and the bill came in $11 UNDER Tom's quote. Can't ask for much more than that!

These guys did a great job fixing the a/c on my Jeep and the price was reasonable. I had an additional a/c problem a few weeks later that had nothing to do with the original repair and they fixed it a no charge.

I should have gone with these guys first, but I saw another shop that also had great reviews.
Finally my Tahoe was at a shop with people who found what others missed. They did not waste my time, as the other guys did. When I told them what was happening they listened and fixed it. They didn't just nod their heads like the other guys did with no intention of listening to me. They didn't just refill the unit like the other guys did (the ones who just nodded their heads), they found the leak, fixed it, THEN they filled the unit.
Save your time and money, and just go with American Auto Air.

I called in the morning to get the MoHo A/C serviced. The person who answered the phone told me I would need an appointment. Then after a bit of awkward silence, I asked if I could make one. Then she needed to check to see if any other motor homes where in (which, after having gone in, she can see every car there ready for service) - the answer being no, she said I could bring it right in.
I dropped her off and was on my way in no time. The fella who checked me in knew his stuff and wrote me up in a hurry. I told him what I wanted and he said he'd call me later. 4 hours later, he called and gave me an update that I approved and called an hour later 'all-done'!!
The bill was reasonable, the access is super easy. I was a bit turned off in that the administrative area up front was not clean nor organized. Getting my keys back was a bit of a fiasco too, but I got the girl back and more road worthy. I'll recommend this place for A/C with a small disclaimer about the front of the shop.

I took my car into them because it was driving pretty rough. They got me in and told me what was wrong. Fixed it the same day. They did a great job. I'll definitely be taking my car back to them.

I've had my car there 3 times and have had great service. If they couldn't fix it they referred me somewhere else. Friendly fast service, estimates fair always able to get an appointment.
They have a new front office person that has improved the wait time on ck in & out. I would take my car there again.

I've taken a couple of my vehicles to these guys, and they have always been fast, fair and friendly, and they fix the problem correctly the first time! I would highly recommend these guys to anyone.

Just a quickee. I needed freon added to my 2005 PT Cruiser but no "air conditioner check. I called American Auto on a Friday morning. They could do it on Monday but they charged $100.
Called The Auto Clinic. They could do it today, for $125.
Called Val Halla. They could do it Monday for $45
Gee, which did I call for an appointment?

Just wanted to add to my review after Tom's comment. The shop did absolutely nothing to make this right. The manager was the one that made me pay for the additional labor even after not doing the job right the first time. Never received a follow up contact, nothing.

Wow. All the employees were very nice. I bought a 2006 Kia Spectra. Drove it off the lot into the gas station work filled up with gas. Turn the car back on and the check engine light was on. And immediately took it back, where they told me it was something to do with the transmission seal and that they would order the part. They cleared the code and I waited. A week later, Dropped the car off, they had it all day!! Got the car back on a Wednesday or Thursday, The light came back on Friday afternoon!! And of course they're not open on the weekends!!! So Monday morning when they opened, I took the car back in. They proceeded to tell me it was a problem with the gas cap and they would order me a new one. They cleared the codes once again and I drove away. Called him the next day to tell him that my light came back on again!! He told me that they had the gas cap to replace it and to bring the car in again. So once again 8am I'm there with my car where they replaced and clears everything... AGAIN. Drove 14.2 miles and the light came back on!! Now I'm at the garage for the 2nd time in the same day and the 4th time with the same problem. Garage says it needs a part for transmission and ordered the part. TAKES A WEEK! Luckily the owner and manager are very nice!!

I brought my 2003 jeep down because my a/c wasn't working. They gave me a fair estimate of $386 to recharge my fri on and repair a connection leak. I approved and the next day they called back and said it didn't leak! Only charged me $100. I am shocked. Refreshing to see honesty in this field. Jeep quoted me close to $1000 for the same repair. Highly recommended!

We have been taking our three (now four) vehicles to American Auto Air and Repair for many years. The service has been timely and dependable; and the price was as quoted. Best of all, a short in one of the power seats was found and fixed before we even knew it was a problem. Check them out.

Brought my Suzuki Sidekick in for air conditioner servicing. Discovered that it had air conditioning that was not factory installed but had been added and the pulleys were not in alignment. American had to fabricate some parts and did an excellent job at getting everything running properly and its charge for the work was very reasonable

Although a bit early for a complete review, I have an appointment this coming Tuesday, 02/04/14, to have the heater core replaced in my 1985 IROC-Z Camaro. After obtaining 5 estimates to have the work completed, American Auto Air and Repair came in as the higest quote (nearly $500 when others quoted $280-$350, including AC evacuation and re-charge and coolant system flush and refill). The level of professionalism and confidence expressed by the staff at American was impeccable. Shane was very friendly and knowledgable about the repairs needing to be done and left me feeling confident that I was making the best choice to have their company perfrom the repair. As my vehicle is a classic (nearly 30 year old and in mint condition), I am very particular with where I will take my car for service. Friendly, knowledgable employees that are confident and genuinely interested in my obtaining my business win every time. I'll follow-up with a complete review next week, post service :)
