Honest, good customer service, great work! Dealership quoted me almost $1000 and lied about the amount of labor. Went in and got a new alternator for under $400 on my European car. Great deal. Great guys to work with.

I have two bad experience with this cheater people. One day i had cigrette lighter plug not working, went there and they said they will charge me 45 dollar to look into it and whatever parts would be the extra. I refused and went to city garage, they just replaced fuse and did not charge me even. but this guys wanted to make money out of silly fuse replacing. I did my oil change last week, within leaving the shop i got Service engine Soon light, i went back there and told mechanic who work on it. He said that will gone in 20 miles drive. I drove 100 miles still the light remain same, call to Manager MOE, and he suggest me come over there. I went there and he just plugin code reader and suggest me i have faulty oxygen senser. Which surprise me how within in one minute of oil change i could have faulty senser. Again they suggest me to replace it with them with $400 and i search in google for oxygen senser of my nissan 1998 altima, that is only $48.00 worth. i found the same kind of review and found that they did not change airfilter with original one and try to fit it with cutting it with other generic one. @Parker shop they always try to cheat people and wanted to make money anyway. I strongly do not recommend these guys. As i m going to complaint against them in BBB and will file claim against them.

Went to the Samstone Auto Repair on McDermott in Allen, TX to get my car inspected. It is a 2011 with 20,000 miles. I don't drive much, but I was told since my transmission fluid was brown, it needed to be changed. I was told it really needed to be changed at 15,000 miles since it wasn't red anymore, and it could be changed for $75.00. This is what my car's manual says : new automatic transaxle fluid should be red. The red dye is added so the assembly plant can identify it as automatic transaxle fluid and distinguish it from engine oil and antifreeze. The red dye, which is not an indicator of fluid quality, is not permanent. As the vehicle is driven, the automatic transaxle fluid will begin to look darker. The color may eventually turn brown. Guess they missed that in their training...thankfully, I didn't fall for the gimmick, but did fall for the new windshield wipers since I "couldn't pass inspection" without them. Ladies (and men) beware!!

VERY PROFESSIONAL! GREAT PRICE! BEST EXPERIENCE! I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. I recently moved to Plano, Texas, and needed an honest auto repair shop. Not once was there an attempt to up sale me into more repairs. The service I requested was completed in the time frame scheduled. The price was exceptionally reasonable and I couldn’t have been more pleased. I have now taken my GMC truck here 3 different times and had the same experience. I Would recommend Samstone to anyone looking for exceptional auto repair at a great price!

Sent my wife to get her vehicle inspected. She was told it failed because the brakes needed to be replaced, fluid flushed and was low. Instead of putting $2 worth of brake fluid in the failed her and started quoting $400 worth of service. I get home and look, reservoir was half full about 1/4" from max fill line. I use to love going to you guys but last few times have proven your now rip off artist. Colton flowers, your wrong for that, we will not becoming back ever and as someone in reputation management I'm going to do my damnest to make sure everyone knows you guys are crooks.. You guys did some similar crooked stuff on my sierra a while back as well.. Just cause they are female doesnt mean they dont know or have someone that knows whats up. Worth the $25 to prove your crooks, only wish it was recorded.

I love this place! As a woman, I am usually very cautious about getting estimates and services done. This place however, is always very honest and fairly priced. This place has really good prices but the customer service varies depending on who you talk to. One mechanic was great! Friendly, responsive, helpful. The other was very short with me on the phone and made me feel like I was bothering him. This place has the "family owned" feel to it so maybe I spoke to the rude cousin? Also, when you call you don't always get the feeling that you called a shop - one time the lady answered... "Yeah"? And my response was confused....I asked if it was the shop and see said "yea old on.".... And put me on hold. Not very professional.....So if you're looking for that head to the dealer. Otherwise- fair prices, quick service. 3.50 to 4 stars.

Probably the fastest service and most reliable insight about your car, if you are an amatuer who just knows about fixing tyres only. I came here and within a minute, a professional was there to get it started VS other shop where you have to leave your car for minor adjustments as well. Prices on the parts and oil change was not indifferent compared to autozone or dealership, respectively. It was just few cents here and there than autozone, which was quite fine by me. I recommend you to give your car a check to increase YOUR vehicle's longevity @samstoneautorepair. This is going to be my one shop stop hereafter to tuneup my baby. Satisfied, Oscar

Poor service and pricey; There suggested to clean up the mess and ended up creating more; i just went in for a state inspection ; they said air filter was not clean and other stuffs ; pricing off these stuffs are quite high compared to other dealers; for sure u can get better pricing elsewhere; also they said they would clean all the dirt accumulated and then when i went to pick car back it never started and they battery down; when i checked out for battery i realized they never cleaned up the stuffs; all in all i went for state inspection and end up doing something else; i will take my car now to a better dealer to see what has been done;

Shot story: After I sat down for a few minutes. A customer complain with me about how they always find something when she bring the car here. She asked another customer if it's necessary to get the coolant fush through the engine. Her technicians said the coolant is really dirty... I did not give any comment on that since I didn't have a look at the car itself.
I brought two of my cars here just for the cheap ($17) inspection and they do a pretty quick job. No problem with it. On one of my car they showed me I need to replace the power steering fluid. I was well aware of the issue and was waiting for a good time to do it my self, total cost of DIY job was at most $30, they quoted me $99 for it, with the "discount". I politely refused it and they are kind of grumpy because of it.
However I know my car has one more problem, some part of the front axle fell off and was causing cranking noise. After refusing the offer; I asked them if they could take a quick look at it. They said sure but then they didn't say anything when the inspection was done. I didn't ask them again about the issue. I assumed they don't want to spend time lifting the car up.
With that being said. I did not have any major problem with this place and I believe 4 stars is a fair rating for them. Cheers!

too pricey and they did not provide the cost information in advance; air filter change and oil fluids change are priced at high price; you can go to other dealers and get it done at much better price; Please get a quote before agreeing to start the service;
They agreed to clean the dirt that was accumulated and just gave it back to me as it is which i noted later; poor service too
I wonder how they managed to get some good review below; something fishy !!!

Was having problems with my AC. I found where the leak was by using UV dye and charging up my system. I checked the pressure and I think I over charged it so since I was getting an inspection done anyway, I asked them to check if it was over charged.
Well, they came back and told me they emptied the AC system and charged me for a full AC service. I was there for almost 2 hours telling them to put it back as it was, I'm not going to pay for having all my AC removed and then replaced. If they couldn't just remove some, they should have said so.
They finally made it right but it was like pulling teeth trying to get it done. Never again!

Honestly best auto shop!
They are extremely fast and beat everybody's prices. The guys are nice and making me feel very comfortable. I have felt at other shops in the past uncomfortable, because I am a female, they try and rape me with extra charges for things I don't need but not here at Samstone. They are honest, smart, caring, and wallet friendly. I will never go to another shop again.
Thank you Samstone for teaching me about my vehicle along with helping me save money on repairs. These guys will go out of their way to answer, explain, and address all of my concerns.
I'm 1 satisfied customer! I am still in shock on their prices honestly, I would pay much more for the quality that I receive here.

I will never go back to Samstone in Plano. First, they charged me $300 to "flush out the fluids" (which I've been told is routine and costs much less), but I let that slide, because he seemed very nice and informative. I appreciate how they offer to take you to your car, even underneath the car, to see an issue and explain it clearly. For a non-car-buff, I felt like I was learning something! However, when I needed to get my car inspection done-- they failed me, citing "leaking" steering fluid. He explained that the grime on the outside meant that it was leaking. For this, he wanted to charge $300 (maybe that's the magic number they need from each customer to stay in business?). I didn't do that, and instead went down the street to a place which passed my car, no problem.
They were baffled why it was marked in the system as "failed" and said not to go back to that place. I've had the car for 5 years and never had to add a drop of steering fluid. When I measured afterwards, it was 100% full, and the "grime"? A normal, thin layer of buildup. It seems they made up a reason to fail my car so they could get $300... Very disappointing. They were so nice!

D.R.I.V.E. A.W.A.Y. BEFORE YOU HAVE TO RUN AWAY BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE A CAR TO DRIVE!!
I'm 34 years old and this is the worst experience I've ever had in my life regarding any vehicle I've ever had, and I used to own a rental business with a fleet of 10 trucks. I had a business meeting an hour south of San Antonio so I went in to get a $30 oil change to make sure I didn't have any problems because I had a very small oil leak so just wanted to get some assurance. Next thing you know and I need to come out and talk to the tech so I go out there and he's got all my spark plugs pulled out and covers off and all sorts of stuff trying to upsell me. Excuse me, I said oil change and that's below the engine - what the hell are you doing touching anything else? They quote me hundreds of dollars, I reject, then they show me I need new tires so I get a couple used ones. So, firstly my $30 visit turned into $220. So then I head south and stop in Round Rock at a hotel for the evening prior to my appointments the next day and go in, get my hotel room, come back out and the very thing I tried to avoid with my oil change occurs - now my car won't start. Now I've never had a single instance since purchasing my wife's 06 Altima of the car not starting. I say screw it, I'm exhausted, and I go in to my hotel room and will deal with it the next day. I get up early and spend 2 hours purchasing tools and spark plugs and all sorts of stuff to try to get my car running to no avail. I call Samstone to complain and they basically say sorry, pound sand; so I have to set things with the hotel to leave my car there, rent a car to go to my appointments for the next 2 days, then return to Round Rock, turn in the car, have my car towed to a mechanic, who then sucks the oil out of the spark plug areas where it had all seeped down into because the Samstone guy took out my spark plugs WHEN I CAME IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE. So I go to Samstone when I get back to town, they tell me I have 3 code errors and they can fix them for $300 bucks. I tell them hell no, I've never had problems with my car until they touched it and so the manager starts arguing with me as if I'm implying they deliberately sabotaged my car. No, I'm not implying that, I'm saying the facts are the facts and I've never had a problem with my car until they got under the hood of it so they need to make things right. Again, $300, so I ask if I give him the $300 does he guarantee that my car will be back to normal and he says no, it might be other problems. I say whatever and leave and spend the next 5 weeks fighting my car because it won't turn over unless I try to start it over and over. Then, this past Friday driving on George Bush one of the tires I purchased from Samstone blows out on the interstate and I almost die. I call Samstone to find out if it was one of the ones they replaced - it was - and they won't replace it unless I give them $35. POUND SAND!!! Then today, with my business unit GM from Madrid coming in tomorrow and me delivering marketing presentations, my car officially dies in the parking garage so I have to get a $50 cab ride to Las Colinas because now I'm without a car because of the recklessness of these buffoons. So now I have to get up at 5 am tomorrow morning, hitch a ride to work, pay a tow company to tow my car, rent a car for 2 days, then pay a mechanic hundreds of dollars to fix my car from where these guys f***** it up. So literally, my $30 oil change turned into a $1,000 hole in my pocket.
Moral to the story - STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS. THEY WILL BLEED YOU, SCREW YOU, AND THEN TRY TO BLEED YOU SOME MORE WITHOUT APOLOGIZING AND LEAVE YOU HIGH AND DRY ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. LITERALLY

I went to the samstone store in Addison on a Friday afternoon to get my state inspection done (since I got a coupon for $7 off). The service took about 15 minutes, people are friendly. The mechanic showed me that i might want to change the air filter and the front tires. I told them i will let my boyfriend take care of it. They did not try to push me to buy anything but just gave me few tips. I know most repair shops will try to up sell you some unnecessary service especially im a woman. But they didn't.
I've read horrible reviews of them, especially when you scroll down to the bottom and those "not recommended" reviews... Since they have 4 different locations, im not sure if the bad service is happening just in the other stores, but based on my experience, the samstone in Addison was pretty good. Will probably go next time to get my oil change there (since its only about $15 with their coupon).

I brought my car in for an oil change with a Valpak coupon. (It was a Sunday special for $14.95, which is pretty awesome.) There was no wait at noon and it took about 15-20 min. Like the previous commenter said, they suggested my air filter be changed (which is long overdue, so I knew that) and I asked how much it was, but told them I would be replacing it myself and they did not try to sell me at all. Very nice and they even vacuumed my floors! Saved me an expensive car wash trip! Since I only had an oil change, I only gave 4 stars since I don't think I've ever had a BAD oil change experience, but the service and experience is definitely a 5!

I went here in late February to get my oil changed (I had a coupon). They serviced my oil and recommended several other fluids to be replaced. I went ahead & let them change my transmission fluid & then they talked me into getting new windshield wiper blades. Anyways all seemed fine, but yesterday I went to get my car inspected elsewhere & the guy told me they put in to much oil which created pressure in my engine & put holes in my gasket (which is $$ to fix). On top of that I couldn't pass inspection b/c my windshield wipers that I PAID for at Samstone were to cruddy to pass inspection. Very very annoyed that they took advantage of me & I hope they at least did a good job w/ my transmission fluids (or even replaced them in the 1st place).

Customer service isn't something they understand at this shop. My car spent 4 plus hrs there for a 1-2 hr repair. Typical mechanic stuff... Shortly after leaving the car had the check engine light come back on. Seeing as I already wasted 4 hrs of my day, I chose to wait until the next day. I brought my car in at 9am the next day to be looked at. I was told by the mechanic he didn't know what the code meant that was throwing the light. The only person who would know the code wouldn't be in until 9:30-10. I waited until 11:15 to call and follow up on my car. Naturally I wasn't called. I was told that the guy just got there and he was doing it now and I would get a call shortly. An hour later without a phone call being made to me I got an uber ride up there. Everyone was standing around and it looked like my car wasn't being serviced. I waited inside 15 minutes waiting to talk to someone before having to go into the garage to get someone's attention. I asked about my car and I was told it would be 30 more minutes because the car wasn't reprogrammed after the sensors were changed the day before. After an hour wait I was then told the car has two more new sensors that might need to be changed. I wonder why they popped up over night?? 5 1/2 hrs later my car was finally finished with grease prints all over it. Generally nice people, but they need more organization and direction on how the shop is run. A 19.99 oil change isn't worth the headache.

Went to Addison location to have my car inspected. I take it to the dealership on a regular basis for service, but was trying to save time and get the inspection done close to my home. Technician looked at my car less than 4 minutes and said it needed new brake pads. I declined, said it had been serviced less than 3k miles ago and the pads were fine, and to please do only the inspection. Two minutes later, they pulled my car out and said they weren't going to do the inspection. I left and immediately called my service advisor at the dealership to look up my car's records. There was 7mm of brake pads at last service less than 3k miles ago which means they did not need to be replaced. Took my car to the dealership and had the inspection done with no problems. Samstone just wants to drum up business, and were incredibly rude when called out on it. I don't recommend and if I could give zero stars I would.

I got my state inspection here recently. They were friendly and did well enough, but I hate the feeling of getting an inspection at an auto repair, and they suddenly have millions of repairs they can make do for your car. The inspection felt just like an excuse to get under the hood and maximize profits. $20 to put in license plate lights? I can get them at AutoZone for just a few dollars!

SAMSTONE = SCAMSTONE
The last half week for us has been unbelievable bullsh*t thanks to Samstone Auto Repair.
My husband brought our Volvo in last Thursday for a water pump and timing belt replacement. When we got it back, apparently the alternator had not been bolted back into place after the timing belt replacement, causing the alternator belt to break and fall off. The alternator itself was leaning and about to fall out. Naturally, the car cannot last long on battery power alone, so we noticed the problem within a day when the car would not run.
With much effort a friend was able to help us get the car drivable again; since it was the weekend, Samstone was not available to help even though we contacted them during business hours on Saturday about the problem. They promised to compensate my husband and make it right if he would bring the car by on Monday.
Well, the situation gets even more "interesting." The car was brought back in and we had them get the alternator set up right, since we were lacking a bit of the hardware needed. The owner, Abrahim, offered my husband a free tune-up for the trouble. Imagine the surprise when he went to pick up the car, and there was a $180 bill for parts! Abrahim insisted that this fact had been disclosed beforehand, but it wasn't. We'd already decided beforehand that Samstone wasn't getting any more of our money, so my husband told them to take out the parts. They let us keep the spark plugs but said that the spark plug wires were too expensive.
You know what else is expensive? An alternator. Ours almost fell out because they FORGOT TO BOLT IT BACK IN.
The cherry on top: Samstone's mechanics recommended a power steering pump replacement; when we took the car to Pep Boys however, all that was needed was a power steering hose. I am in shock and awe of Samstone's ability to screw up a business relationship.
These guys give mechanics everywhere a bad name. No to the double talk, no to the sabotage,and no to the incompetence.
Does anybody know a good Volvo mechanic?
NEW EDIT: I had my car in to another mechanic to investigate an oil leak, and it turns out Samstone screwed up on yet another area of my car! When they did the timing chain/water pump combo, they used the wrong type of sealant on the cam shaft cover. Normally this type of error would be under warranty, but you can probably guess how much I was wanting to bring my car back to Samstone. It cost over $200 in labor to fix this mistake! Thanks, yet again, Samstone.

These guys do a great job. I take my Saab here because the owner is a Master Tech on European cars. I have taken my car here multiple times and each time it comes back to me in great condition. Sam the owner doesn't rip me off either which is nice. They will even take you home and pick you up when your car is ready. The cool thing about getting your car fixe here too is that you can wait next door at Jakes Hamburgers.
