Caution: "Rip offs" Quoting $3...

Caution: "Rip offs" Quoting $365. for tune-up and once they got the car they called with an emergency need of additional work needed, for an additional $2800. They were rude and nasty when I said I would need to wait a few weeks. Final cost when I picked up the car was $422. and that was ok, except the car ran better before they serviced it. Brought their quote to dealership and was told the work was not needed and I had to have the car reserviced. They sent an email reminding me of the service needed. When I replied with a "No thanks not happy with past servic". They sent a nasty reply along with a copy of the last invoice with the bottom of the invoice stating "Written off not paid" But I do save all reciepts and my copy says "Paid in full cash" Shady way to hide cash payments... If you have ever used this company save your receipts. I would not recommend to anyone... Caution they are not busy and must need to hard sell customers, which is a rip off way of doing business...

They have serviced my VW's sin...

They have serviced my VW's since 1999. They are professional, knowledgeable and have a clean and welcoming atmosphere (rare for most small care care centers). As they repair your vehicle, they keep you updated with any changes in the bill, reminding you of what is absolutely necessary. They are always adding to the appeal of the shop with wi-fi in the lobby, email updates of services, coupons for services and have even branched out to fix other German cars. With all the changes, they are still reliable and friendly.

So far only great things to say about this repair shop, great mechanics, great service. I found this shop on yelp, after dealing with dishonest shady repair shops and shady VW stealerships. Keep it real and honest GCD!

Great place!! And even a better staff. The staff here explain everything to you before they get started, also they always have discounts going on if you hit them with your email. 15percent off 10 percent etc.... early bird specials if u bring it in at 8:00am that's a discount. Prices are reasonable. Great place. To me it beats the dealership.. two thumbs up to German car depot.

Rich in the office was great and so was Alex out in the garage. The place is spotless for a garage and efficient. Appreciated the lack of upsell I would always get at the Audi dealership. Richie is going to work with Carmax to get a warranty repair done on the front suspension in the near future. Great service and they couldn't be closer to the house. It's great being able to patronize a reliable Hollywood business.

I took my Audi A4 to the Audi Pembroke Pines dealer to get the brakes done, I was quoted $1500, German Car Depot wanted 1/3 of that. Needless to say G.C.D was who I took my car to. Thanks so much!

Best VW Shop!

V Depot is the best for VW and other foreign cars. They make sure they fix it right. They are so much cheaper than the dealer but use the same quality parts unlike most auto shops.

I honestly would give 6 stars if possible, and I am a fairly critical reviewer. This place did everything they said they would do and more. Unlike the BMW dealership in Lauderdale they are not scam artists here looking for your every dollar. They gave me very fair prices and fixed exactly what I needed done, nothing more. Service was super fast and professional. After I picked my car back up, I drove it over 1500 miles in the next 48 hours and had absolutely zero problems. A few days later I received a follow up text from the owner to make sure that everything was fine. 5 stars all the way!

Excellent place to service your car. They know their stuff and are fair with prices. They are also some of the nicest people in town. Highly recommend. I've been a client for over 10 years!!!! Wouldn't go anywhere else. My car, thankfully, hasn't had any major issues since servicing it with German Car Depot. They ROCK!

Dropped my car off for an oil change on my Audi. They text me as soon as it was ready for pick up. They did a 24 point inspection and let me use the coupon I had during check out. It was only $65 after the discount. They also filled up my windshield fluid at no cost and shut off my service light after the service was performed. This was such an easy and pleasant experience! I highly recommend it.

Had a great experience here, unfortunately my AC compressor failed which resulted in a big cost to repair, however, not their fault things are expensive! Richie was very informative and they took excellent care of me and my Audi, would recommend them to anyone who has a german car, they are very VERY good and a very competitively priced, service was A1!

I love when I save money, and the service is friendly, fast and reliable. This was my first visit, and I can say it was very pleasant. I waited there while they serviced my car, and I was surprised how fast it was. They gave it a complete inspection also and listed what we should keep an eye on down the road.
I was ready to shell out some money as I had researched the services with pricing and I knew what I should be paying. Today, I was thinking I would be giving them another $40 (after I had purchased the Yelp $40 for $50 deal) based on the quote. However, with the discounts the total came to zero! YAY. They will save you 40% compared to the dealers. Not bad for dealer level repair and diagnostics. Make sure you check their Website for coupons also for additional savings.
If you have a German Car, I recommend trying them out. They use factory parts, and their mechanics specialize in BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Mini, Porsche, and VW makes. You can set up appointments on their website (I really like that feature...everything is in writing so no misunderstandings.)

First time customer, referred by a long time customer. Tanya was pleasant to speak to over the phone and Alan was very knowledgeable and accomodating. They specialize in Audi and VW, and they try their best to get you the best possible price for parts and service. They work within your schedule to have your car back to you at your convenience (I called them same day for an appointment and they fit me in).
I will continue to bring my car to them and will do an updated review after a few visits!

The reason i am giving the GCD a 3 starts is because:
1. I have spend way over 7,000 on my Audi in between repairs and Oil Change
2. Last time I asked them to fix my front bumper and they did , but the next day it was out again. I ended up getting under the car and fixing myself
3. I never get a car wash!
Tania, Richie and Allie are always very attentive to my needs, but if I drive away and problem comes back, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
They are great for maintenance if your car is new, if it is old, get a second job to pay for repairs

I wanted to bring my mini in for an oil change and I made an appointment over the phone. Come appointment time I brought my car in and nobody greeted me or spoke to me I was there for over 20 minutes before I decided to just leave. I don't care how busy you are I have an appointment at least acknowledge my presence as a customer. I ended up bringing my mini to the mini service center in ft lauderdale, they treat you so much better there, I got free coffee and pastelitos, waited in a beautiful waiting room with many couches and tv and the oil change was actually cheaper and really included a car wash and vacuum, go figure.

Found this place through Yelp and the great reviews. Called on a Saturday and was given an appointment for Wednesday morning. My husband brought the car in and I called to remind of the 15% off labor and free car wash that I had seen on Yelp. This place is very honest as the Mercedes dealer said I needed front and rear brakes but they only said I needed front brakes. They kept the car all day instead of half a day no problem as long as I got it back. The price was a fraction of the dealer however no car wash thus they have one less star. With the money I saved I got a wash and hand wax for the car yesterday at work.

brought my car for oil change a while ago, Jose worked on my car and was extremely helpful in getting the car in top shape. Emboldened by this experience I brought the car back for brake service. Again Jose worked on it and at the end he washed the car too. I don't know why some folks complain that their car wasn't washed. Not in my experience. I am planning on using them for any non-warranty work on my car. Tania and Allen are top notch professional.

Bought a new Audi and went to prestige imports to get their oil change and free inspection deal for the car. Figured I would get a multipoint inspection and see if anything was wrong with it since I got it from a small dealer.
Not really any serious issues with the car. Had to change a motor mount, coolant flange and battery. They also suggested to change the belt. They priced this at $1,997. So basically $2,000 on top of the price I paid for the car.
I did some research (Yelp search "Audi mechanic") and I read the reviews here and they were very convincing. I called these guys and 2 other Audi mechanics. They called me back and gave me a quote of around 35% of what the dealership wanted. Another place didn't even call back. And one was actually cheaper, but only had 3 stars. So I decided to pay a little more and go with the one with the highest reviews.
I'm glad I did. The work was done quickly and the staff was kind. Tania helped me with my service. Showed them the Yelp promotion. She was quick in adding the discount. Kept me informed of the work. All and all I think that I will be coming here for all the future work on my Audi.
Sometimes going to a mechanic you don't feel comfortable with what they are telling you and the work that they do. But I felt like everything was very professional.
I HIGHLY recommend this mechanic for anyway that owns an Audi or VW!
UPDATE: came today for check engine light code: p0299 turbo under boost. The car drives great no issues really. So the mechanic drove it. Reset the light and said it was fine. No charge.

I have a 2007 VW GTI with 75K miles on it, i take excellent care of it and do scheduled maintenance religiously. Im tired of shady repair shops that try to rip me off, and shady dealership service people who always want to dig as deep as they can in my pocket. Well i found the German Car Depot, they are fair, honest, and do great work, i had my sunroof drains replaced and my front fenders rain drains cleaned out, no more water leaks. Then not even a month later my clutch pedal broke they replaced the clutch master cylinder it broke from wear and tear, no need for a new pedal and they did not give me a run around they were straight forward told me there was no damage to the clutch or transmission, a shady mechanic would had told me i needed a new clutch and transmission work, i now feel confident bringing my car to The German Car Depot for great mechanics, trusted shop, great deals, always find a discount and any discount is great on my pocket. Oh and the Bulldog and the Poodle are not only gorgeous but super friendly

I use these people for all my work. This time it was my AC. I had misunderstood the estimate and was questioning the bill. Ollie overheard me and bounced out of his office to ask what was the issue. It was a minor misunderstanding, probably on my part but Ollie quickly reached Into his pocket and returned the disputed amount plus some.
Yes, my AC now blows cold and I go nowhere else for my work.
I've never left there unhappy.
BTW, it was 90 plus degrees that day and a crowded shop and they still got me out in 60 minutes. Of course I did not have an appointment!!
They are 5 stars.

I came here after having a couple very frustrating visits to the local Volkswagen dealership. I've been having issues with my engine and the dealership quoted me at $1100 to fix the issue, telling me that my vacuum pump needed to be replaced as well as the hoses leading to it. I felt like I could get a better deal so I decided to look around, and I eventually found German Car Depot.
When I first called them to get a quote, they were very friendly and took them only a few minutes to get an estimate on my repairs. I was able to get an appointment first thing the following morning. When I arrived they inspected the car and had a face to face with me, telling me everything that was wrong with the car. They also included a 5 paged itemized list of every single error code that my car had, and the approximate cost to fix each item. Turns out there was more wrong with my car than just the vacuum pump. It also turns out the pump itself was perfectly fine. German Car Depot ended up saving me from spending a lot of money and getting unnecessary repairs from the dealership. So they got to work, and I waited around for a few hours - not a problem at all for me! If you have any questions or concerns about the service they are more than happy to answer all of your questions and make sure you are happy.
All the employees, including the mechanics were very helpful, and most of all approachable. They even walked out to my car with me and showed me exactly what was wrong and what they were going to fix. The building itself looks a little nondescript and out of place, but do not let that throw you off. This place means business! The waiting area has a sofa and plenty of chairs, a TV, and free wireless internet. They also have a very cute bulldog who likes to wander around and look for someone to pet or play with him.
At the end of my service, the total came out to only $488, nearly 60% of the cost the dealership quoted me. The car drives wonderfully now and I currently have no issues with it.
I would highly recommend this mechanic to anyone who wants quality service at a great price! They have found a new customer and I would never go back to the dealership ever again!

Alan and Richie have been more than just mechanics to us. They are the most professional and down to earth shops I've ever been to in my life. Their prices are fair, their up front attitude is highly respectable, and the most important of all, they have mastered their craft. Most of the time, when you go to a mechanic, you are left to wonder if they really know their stuff. Most really don't, not GCD, they know their sh*t.

I purchased my Audi at Prestige Imports and only had it serviced there while it was under warranty. My recent visit to Prestige left me speechless because they told me I needed over $3K worth of work. My car only has 28K miles so you can imagine my surprise. I wanted a second opinion so I took my car to GCD this morning looping them in on what my dealer diagnosed, and I am so happy I did. Tania and the entire staff at GCD are professional, knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, thorough and all around wonderful! As it turns out, the dealer diagnosis was inaccurate, to say the least. Thank you so much GCD for easing my concerns!

GCD is as good as it gets. Well, they could offer espresso to make it better. How nice to find a place that offers the care of an older vehicle or one you just really love that's not running up to par.
This is the second time I have used them and never want to go back to a VW dealer again really.
GCD is professional and their staff really kind if you happen to have questions.
They recommend exactly what needs to be done and are never pushy. The office and garage are very clean and cool AC if you have to wait.
I live very far away and they evaluate my car so I can decide whether yo wait or not.
Take your german car here for the best treatment.

Based on reviews from here on Yelp and Audi owner bulletin boards, I took my 2006 A4 here for needed maintenance and repairs. I have been using, perhaps stupidly, an Audi dealer for all service and maintenance for all these years. The Check Engine light went on and the dealer informed me that repairs could cost upward of $2,500 - since there was no way I was sinking that into a 10-year old car, I started shopping - sadly - for new cars.
I figured it was worth a second opinion, so I made the trip to GCD - and was I ever glad I did. The entire experience was outstanding - from the initial greeting, to the no-BS way they describe to you what they are going to look at, what they will try to do, how long it will take, and how much it should cost. Full transparency, honest advice and guidance, great feedback throughout the process.
My story had a happy ending - the repair was done, plus scheduled maintenance, plus A/C recharge (1st time in 10 years; can't complain) for a fraction of what the dealer would have charged. And they showed me the diagnostics for the car - told me it was in excellent shape and that I should deb able to drive it for many years to come. A huge relief.
GCT is a service organization that is highly professional and as meticulous and fussy about servicing German automobiles as I am about owning and driving one. Count me as one happy new customer - who should have gone to see them sooner!

I had used this place once before and was very pleased, considering the prices that Mercedes charges. However, this most recent time was a disaster. BEWARE!!
I brought my 550 SL Mercedes into the German Car Depot because it was having what appeared to be electrical issues. They supposedly fixed the issue and we picked the car up the next day only to have it break down on the way home.Whatever they did to "fix it" had made matters worse. We then brought it back to have it fixed a 2nd time within 24 hours. When we called 4 days later to see what was going on with the car,The owner of the joint kept telling us that the car would be ready in " a day or two." The first time we called, he said to come up the day after and the car would be ready ( they "thought it was a spark plug issue.") I ubered it up to the car depot and waited for 2 hours. The car wasn't ready, so they gave me $20 and told me to UBER it back home. I did. They promised it would be ready the next day. It was 2 weeks later when we had gotten the run around from everyone at this place. Finally, I demanded to speak with the owner and told him I was coming to get my car the next day regardless if it was fixed or not! He said fine, but when we called to say we were on our way......he said that the car wasn't at his dealership anymore. He HAD TAKEN OUR CAR TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP W/OUT OUR PERMISSION!!! I couldn't believe what I was hearing. As the owner stuttered and continued making excuses, I stopped him and asked if he was joking. He then started to YELL AT ME, telling me that my car had cost him over $500 and he wasn't even charging me. He said he would have my car towed at his expense to Mercedes Benz. I could not believe that a business owner would allow he and his staff to "beat around the bush" and lie to me every day acting like the car would be ready the next day and then send it to a secondary dealer to try and fix it without our permission. In addition, when I tired to tell them what they had done was unacceptable, they yelled at ME.
When I finally got the car into Mercedes Benz ( where everyone should take their car to begin with, especially with electrical issues), they had it fixed in 1 hour. They verified that the German Car Depot had caused the issues that ended up costing me $900 to fix. They stated that a place like German Depot does not have the electrical equiptment or software to be able to fix complex issues.
Morale to this story- DO NOT USE A PLACE LIKE THIS FOR YOUR NICE CAR IF IT HAS ANY ISSUES OTHER THEN SIMPLE BASIC REPAIR NEEDS. THESE GUYS DON"T KNOW HOW TO HANDLE issues that are more complex then changing a car battery or spark plug ( which most of us could do ourselves).
Also, shame on the German Car Depot for YELLING at me ( the customer) after putting us through 2 weeks of BS. You should be ashamed!!!!

I was in town from Chicago on a long road trip. My 2003 VW Beetle developed an oil leak over the long drive and it was a very time sensitive situation because I was returning home soon.
The guys at German Car Depot were simply amazing.
They were definitely busy on a Monday afternoon, but realizing my situation they fit me in right away. Since I was at a place specializing in German cars I also had them look at two of the broken window switches inside the car. After extensive research they found out they had a set of practically new switches in house that they could install for a very nominal extra charge.
I was in and out of there in less than two hours. Not only did the car make it all the way back to Chicago, but it has never sounded so good since the guys at German Car Depot got their hands on it.
Because VWs can be quite expensive to work on, I was ecstatic to find out I was only paying a little over $200 for excellent, mandatory work.
I can't recommend the guys at German Car Depot enough. They made what could have easily been an incredibly annoying, expensive ordeal on vacation an extremely pleasant experience. Probably the best experience I've ever had getting a car worked on. Thanks guys!

After taking my Audi A6 to a local dealership for service for past 2yrs, I finally got fed up with the feeling in my gut of being taken advantage of. Every time I'd go to dealership for a service or repair they always managed to tack on additional "urgent" problems that would pad the bill and throw in an addition $1-2K in repairs.
I called German Car Depot last week and forwarded them the dealership quote on various repairs including replacing the front tire Bushings. Dealership said these had to be replaced immediately and also said my front tires were worn beyond safety limits.
I can't say how refreshing it was dealing with Richie, Ollie and Lincoln at German Car Depot. They dealt with me immediately upon arrival to the shop and Lincoln was kind enough to give me a ride back to my home. They spoke to me in an honest and direct way from beginning and made me feel very comfortable. After giving them the dealership quote via email, they came back to me the same day with a quote which was at least 30-40% less than dealership.
In fact, I was called a few hours later and informed that the Bushings that dealership quoted as needing to be replaced "urgently," were fine and the car would be perfectly ok to drive until next service in September when they would be revisited. Additionally, front tires were reviewed and apparently were wearing evenly and also did not need to be replaced right away.
In short, my Audi A6 and I were treated in a very professional and honest manner.
I would highly recommend German Car Depot.

I recently bought an used Audi and went to German Car Depot for a full diagnostic. What a happy coincidence to find out that the previous owner of the car used to go this shop for service and maintenance. Alan, the owner took the time to look up the service history of the car and was able to give me some very precious information, like the last odometer reading that ( suprise !! ) was mismatching the miles shown on my odometer. He then went above and beyond pulling out a Carfax and an Autofax report and when he compared it with my Autofax report that the dealer had given me, we understood that the odometer was rolled back and the dealer had modified the Autofax report. Also, Alan showed me the documents that the dealer failed to present to me at the time of sale. So not only that i got a great diagnostic of the car, i also discovered , with Alan's help, that i was the victim of a dealer fraud. I cant thank Alan and his team enough for their precious time and for their consideration and care for me as a client. They are very professional and helpful.
Even though i wont keep this Audi , i will buy another german car and will always use German Car Depot as my car doctor :) This is the best costumer service i have ever experienced. Lots of thanks !!!

As someone who is very skeptical when it comes to mechanics, I'm happy to say I had a great experience here. I brought my VW Passat in for a radiator flush and repair. They quoted me a fair price, fixed the issue, and returned her to me freshly washed! I just sold my car, but if I still had a German vehicle I would bring it to them again.

The important thing first. Ollie is great guy running an honest shop. I went there for an estimate on my AC. repair and he and the staff were all very helpful and accommodating.
I will definitely be coming here for all my future VW needs!

I've had a lot of people fix my 2002 Audi A6 in the last 6 years I have owned it, but these guys are by far the best I have seen besides the dealer (which costs twice the price). In some ways, the customer care they give you is better than the dealer.
I had an emergency flood in my car after a hard rain. I had no idea what to do since my car didn't start. I called GCD and the owner, Alan, talked to me and assured me they could handle it. He even knew that it was a draining issue in the hood that I had no idea about. I got it towed over there and dropped the car off hoping my car would run again. They dried my car out and got all the water out of the car. They also sealed the leak by cleaning out the drains. Finally, they got me a good deal on a used transmission computer since my other one was fried due to flooding under the floor board.
And now my car is back up and running!
I also went back to get my CV boots and control arms done there. Alan gave me a very fair price for the amount of labor involved. I went to another guy previously that didn't work with Audis and he wanted to charge me more for less work.
After doing that I noticed my car was a little out of alignment. I took it back and they fixed the issue at no charge because I had previously paid before for that service. When they say they warranty their work, they mean it. He even fixed my headlight issue.
If you have an Audi or VW, don't go to the run of the mill auto shops around South Florida that don't understand your car. Don't pay an arm and a leg at the dealer. Go to German Car Depot for great service and a fair price.

Always wonderful! Everyone here is friendly and helpful. I love the fact that they always take the time to explain to me exactly what they will do and why, and then write it out on the receipt. It really lets me know what work they perform and why it was necessary. I think honestly and transparency is the cornerstone of every good business, and of course quality work! Never had a problem, and have always been happy. Wonderful professional customer service.
Also had auto body work done, and it couldn't have been nicer and more reasonable. Brought my car in to have the clearcoat refinished where the sun ate away at it (lesson: always keep car waxed in the hot Florida sun) and it cost 150 bucks...and it came with free extra services: not only did he do a great job and buff, wax and vacuum my entire car but he restored my headlights for free (usually a $150 job in itself) and wants me to come back in a few days to buff out all the scratches on my bumper. Basically the guy looked at my car and asked himself "how can I make this car better?" and did it. I am seriously speechless.

I was looking for the place to get my headlights restored and found this place pretty attractive because of the reviews. Well, I spoke to the manager and he told me to go find a guy named JJ. He started to polish them without even taping the hood and fenders. After he was done my headlights looked even worst than before. He scratched them and said that he can't do anything about it. long story short- DON'T GO HERE if you don't want your vehicle get messed up.

I have been taking my car to German Car Depot ever since my clutch ('02 VW) failed 5 years ago - at exactly 60k, end of warranty - and the dealer quoted me $1600. A friend found GCD online and I went there for a second "opinion". Ollie, the owner, is a legend (for reasons that will become clear when you visit and peruse his well-deserved wall of fame) and a very consumer-friendly businessman. He replaced my clutch and has performed countless other repairs on my car for a fraction of what I would have paid anywhere else. He, Ritchie, Luis, Juan and the rest of the crew are professional, friendly and very fair (cost-wise).
Highest recommendation.

I was looking for a reliable garage in Hollywood and like everyone I was forced to admit that it's very hard to make the right choice.
The staff is very friendly, helpful and you can trust them. I always felt I paid the "right" price when I brought my car there. They also take time to speak with me and explain which was done on the car.
It's so sad that they are only handling Audi & VW, I hope they will extend to other brands someday.
Quick tip: I always bring my car before 9:30am, you can get a 5% discount on labor for that :-)

The service was very efficient and helpful. I really liked that they were open on sat so you can get your car work done if you have a busy schedule. The staff was very knowledgable and very receptive to all questions asked. Alan the owner was extremely nice and went over all the work I needed before I got it done and they gave me detailed information when I left. All and all, I would recommend this place and will be returning shortly.

I can't believe these guys don't have any reviews on here yet. I can't say enough good things about them.
They exclusively service VW and Audi, and they do this well. I've had my fair share of abuse from "stealerships", but after some particularly egregious treatment at Deel VW service, and went searching elsewhere and found reference to these guys online. They have have a great website that should answer any questions.
As far as my specific experience, I received thoughtful patient service on the phone and upon visiting the place (Thank you Luis and Rich). The shop, waiting area, and reception are clean and customer friently. They seem to run very efficiently with web-based cameras monitoring all repair bays and car areas. What I was most impressed with is a real lack of the usual disconnect that you see at dealerships between your "service advisor" and the people actually doing service. Repair personnel were in the reception area and seemed genuinely interesting in listening to and addressing customer concerns. This place is a rare gem. A family owned business that does oem quality work with great service. My wife's VW will get any needed service here and my 2010 Q7 will be getting serviced here as well. A+ on all counts. (BTW my wife's car runs great after $700 repair vs. over $4000 at Deel)

I trust these guys with my car! They always do a thorough job, explain everything to the T. They specialize in Audi & VW's. They know what they're doing! I made a mistake by taking my car somewhere else once bc it was closer to my job & long story short...I knew more about Audi's than he did. Lesson learned! Now, I do not take my car anywhere else but the dealersip or here!! I highly recommend!

I had a bad experience at the German Car Depot and expressed my experience on their webpage. Not long after doing so the owner Alan decided to reach out and call me a liar. I've been there about 3 times and never spoke with or even seen the owner there but he caledl me to let me know that the experience I expressed on his website was false. So I asked him was he the mechanic I spoke to because I did go the the garage and speak with the mechanic myself. This is how I know the work was not done correctly because the mechanic advised me of the himself. So instead of Alan (the owner) finding out what happened from my point of view he just called me and bashed me the entire time which was upsetting. In the end we never got anywhere because he was certain that his employees never make a mistake. I am glad you have your employees backs Alan but when they are wrong they are wrong. No one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes! The next time you decide to call a customer Alan, allow them to explain what happened; Make sure you know what services were completed (because he didn't and said I was false and had to go back to his records to show I was not lying about the services I had completed) before you try to bash another customer.

Great friendly service, and they were cheaper than an Audi dealership for a standard service. Best part is they use all genuine Audi parts.

I've had 2 separate, and very different experiences at GCD.
#1 - Over a year ago I take my A4 for an A/C recharge. They do the work quickly, don't tack on extra charges or "Oh hey you need this" everything goes well- perfect. I finally found a shop that I can trust. Even if it means driving from Cutler Ridge!
#2 - A few months ago I take it in because they run a promo where they will check out the A/C system for free. My A/C was blowing warm and I had a known leak (I could see it with my own eyes from the A/C line) but wanted a second opinion. I took it in without mentioning the leak to see what they would find and for a quote on replacement. Lo and behold, they claim that my orifice tube is all gunked up (and show me an example of what mine supposedly looks like). Because it's gunked up, it's causing my A/C to blow warm. Hmmmm. Ok, for for $100 they will replace the tube and top me back up with refrigerant. (Mind you, this is literally a $10 part.) I ask about a possible leak. He says that they cannot tell at this moment, but they will add dye to the refrigerant so that if it DOES leak in the future (start blowing warm), they will be able to trace it. (I neglected to point out that they added dye when they filled it a few year ago so they should be able to tell!) Anyways, once they told me they didn't see a leak - I knew we had problems. Again, I saw the collection/drops on the bottom of the A/C hose myself - it doesn't take any dye to find it. At this point, I realized they were trying to recoup $$ on the "free A/C service offer" that they were providing. Moreover, I believe they KNEW I would come back very soon - still with a leak - and then I'd be paying a few hundred more dollars for replacement of the A/C hose. After paying $100 for something I didn't need. Ultimately, I replaced the hose myself - and I decided to do the orifice tube as well. Guess what - it was nearly clean as a whistle - not even close to gunked up like they showed me!! Really disappointed in GCD after that encounter. I really believe these guys are honest and probably 9 times out of 10 they're doing the customer right - as you can see by all the other 5 star reviews. However, they were not honest with me in this instance and unfortunate for them that I knew it from the get-go because I'm car savvy. Unfortunately, I think they've lost my trust and I will patronize another german car closer to home in the future - if I can't repair it myself!

We love German Car Depot. Allen and his team have taken great care of our Bug and Passat over the years. They have great prices and are very fair. They inspected a couple VW cars we were looking to buy for free which saved us $150. I would definitely recommend them :)

Simply put - A mechanic you can trust!, how often do you hear that. I have had a VW & AUDI and both were maintained by these guys. I dont want to sell my audi now b/c there is no audi or vw i want because having al & co. take care of my vehicles makes things a lot more stress free. I have sent a few people there and everybody has come away happy.
