Just a quick note to let people know how impressed I am with Francen and Son. I have been searching for a local area shop to work on my Jaguars. I stopped in and talked to Kevin Francen and was impressed by his knowledge of my car and what I needed. The work was done quickly and for a very reasonable price. As it turned out my car was missing two essential small parts needed for the job and can you believe it, Kevin had the parts! Wahoo! My cars have found a new home when they need help.

Francen & Son always provides great service. They insure that you understand the ultimate problem and offer the best option for you. They won't use cheap parts unless you insist on it. They warm of the dangers of using some generic parts and know when they are adequate quality versus substandard quality. My cars are used by my children and I always want to make certain the car is in the best possible mechanical shape. With Francen and Sons, I can count on the vehicles being safe for my teenage kids. I found this little gem years ago when I had my Subaru. I was in a panic because my all wheel drive system wasn't functioning properly making the car nearly impossible to handle on dry pavement. With a snow storm coming later in the day, I had to get the car repaired immediately.
I took it to the Subaru dealer in Hoffman Estates/Schaumburg. They called me 4 hours later to say that the car needed nearly $1,600 in repairs. After I picked my jaw up off the ground, I told them I would come pick up my car to get a second opinion.
Nervous about being taken advantage of as a female attempting to get my car repaired, I began looking online for another repair shop. I called several places before calling Francen & Son and speaking to their office manager, Susie. She made me feel comfortable and safe right away. She gave me her word that no one would take advantage of me or be dishonest in any way. After inspecting my Subaru, Kevin came out to tell me the repair would not exceed $400! He did ask me to promise to spend some of the money I saved on the repair to get new tires somewhere. The malfunctioning all wheel drive had damaged the tires.
That was more than 10 years ago. I have taken both my personal and professional vehicles here and sent countless people there for repairs. I have learned from experience throughout the years that not only was Susie a person of her word, but the brothers that own and operate the shop have a strong value system and would never consider misleading anyone for any reason. Everyone that has visited Francen & Son reports the same thing - We will never go anywhere else for car repairs...ever! If you are looking for talented, honest repair shop that treats you like family, look no further than the team at Francen & Son!

Best automotive experience I've had in a long time. In a world where you can easily get ripped off, this is the place to get a honest answer of what's wrong with great staff support led by Kevin.
I found Francen & Son Auto Service via Yelp and when I dropped my car off the next morning for service Susie (at the front desk) was really nice and down-to-earth. They offered to give me a free loner car so I could get to work (but my coworker had already arranged to meet me so that wasn't needed - but a great option for the future).
I haven't had any issues afterward and I am satisfied with the service and the rates - way cheaper 1800.00 than the Toyota dealership! Based on my experience. I would say you can trust that Francen & Son will treat you well and you'll be happy with the end result and I would highly recommend this shop to others.

I have to preface this review by disclosing that as a young guy in the 80s, I used to manage tire and auto repair facilities. When I bring my cars into a shop, I have a healthy dose of skepticism stemming from my experience in the business. My shops were always busy because word of mouth proved to be our best advertisement. Last year I called shops in my area looking for someone to work on my VW diesel Westfalia. Upon speaking with the owner, Kevin, about my newly acquired rig, I was confident that he knew what he was talking about. While the bus was there we had a couple of conversations about how best to prep it for it's inaugural road trip. He made some suggestions which were on point. I picked up the bus and had a trouble free trip to the Grand Canyon and back. At the end of this summer, the bus became hard to start, I suspected glow plugs. I brought the van back to Kevin and they assessed the hard start (glow plugs & suggested a new GP relay), had some other maintenance items done. When I picked up the bus, it ran better than ever.
I found this shop to be very knowledgable, great at communicating, and willing to prioritize what needs to be done. I feel very comfortable having them work on my vehicles, and have recommended them to my local area friends. If you're looking for a good, honest, shop, these guys are it!

These days is hard to find a good shop to trust with your vehicles. I'm pretty new to the area so I knew that finding a good and honest shop would be difficult. It started off with a simple phone call asking if they could install a fuel filter that I had purchased, and they gladly did it. Since that initial visit I've been there numerous times to maintain both of my vehicles. One of my vehicles is a diesel truck and the other gasoline car and these guys have had no problem working on either vehicle. Their prices are fantastic, their work is top notch, their knowledge is great, but most of all their honesty and integrity is incredible. I will happily recommend this shop to anyone and I will always go to them for any of my automotive needs.

After my VW did not pass the emission test, I needed it repaired. I used the booklet given at the testing station and first took the car to another repair place. I then took it to Francen for a second opinion and am so very pleased that I did. They were very polite and explained what they needed to do and why. The estimate was very fair. They got the problem taken care of in a short amount of time and were very down to earth and honest about some other minor repairs that I asked about.
All in all, this was a wonderful experience. I will certainly take my car back to them again when necessary.

These guys don't even know what they are doing. They are only after money.
Any tom and harry can do the the oil changes and brakes. But when it came to real engine work they did not have a clue. They don't even have a good scanner. My 50 $ scanner was giving much better information than theirs.
Called plenty of times and did not get the calls back. I finally gave up.
