Our car was running rough, although we were moving. Also, the mileage was noticeably bad. We were travelling from Ohio to Minnesota. On our way into Indianapolis, we looked up 24 hour vehicle service on a chance, and got a reference to call PFM Truck & Car Care. Jim answered and gave some great advice over the phone. We asked if anyone could look at it if we made it before closing, he said he could take a look, and was able to diagnose the part we needed. Thanks to Jim's "hands-on" help and knowledge, we are back on the road, and the car runs great. We would gladly recommend this place to anyone. Thank you Jim and PFM!! Very pleased and satisfied customers. Wow.

I have had a number of vehicles maintained and repaired at PFM over the years. Their staff has always been courteous and professional and have provided me with an estimate when requested. The waiting area is well kept and comfortable. I was even offered a ride! If you are looking for a place to maintain and repair your vehicle, PFM is the place in Indy.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! I recently visited the new Carmel location, using pfm services for the first time. I just got a routine oil change. I found the staff to be very welcoming as well as willing to go out of their to help. The manager, the individual who was processing the payment information, even went out to get my car off the lift and drove it around front for me himself!!!!! The service was fast, of high quality, and convenient. The facilities are very clean and nice. The waiting area was SUPERB. Nice restrooms, a computer in the waiting area, television, and refreshments. I can't see myself taking my car anywhere else now that I have seen the service from pfm!!!!

I was looking through some papers for my RV, and I came across my PFM estimate, an experience that still haunts me years later. Figured I'd share my tale of woe with one of the shadiest mechanic shops I've ever come across.
Here goes: I'm on the road driving my RV across country and I have a cracked exhaust manifold. Bad news, I know. So I call PFM knowing I have to stop in Indy anyway. They say they can replace my exhaust manifold without a problem. Unfortunately, I didn't make it to the shop. I had to have it towed (awful call, as these guys must've been licking their chops).
Anyway, I leave my RV with them for an estimate. Ask them to check the rear brakes, fuel and cooling system as well. This is when it all falls apart, and the vultures strike:
To begin, they stall on the estimate, knowing I have a flight booked out of town. Then, they break the news: their "services" will cost me over $10000.
After I picked myself up off the floor, I started combing through the estimate and saw that they were also jacking the parts prices by 100-500%. Nice margins, right? It was also pretty insane the parts that "needed replacement". A thermostat housing? Wha? $130? Wha?
How about $400 labor to replace 4 shocks? Sound right to you?
How about a carburetor for $800? Um. Don't think so, PFM.
So once I realized I was being outright conned, I figured I'd move on.
Not so fast, they said. How about our $500 "estimate fee"?
Yes. I just wrote that.
The problem here is that they basically would not allow me to take my vehicle back until I paid their little ransom.
Knowing I didn't have the time, I reluctantly paid them.
Thus ends the most experience with the most fraudulent, practically criminal mechanic shop in existence.
If you're still considering them after reading this review, you, ahem, probably are going to get what you deserve.
We now return you to your regular scheduled program...
Oh, I'd just like to note that in the review comment, John N suggests that I wanted work for free.
Problem is that PFM NEVER DID ANY WORK FOR ME!
They just lined me up for what they thought would be a "big haul", and when I saw through their fraudulent tactics, they held my vehicle hostage.
