George and Tassos are so honest and inexpensive, I can hardly believe they exist today. In a world where experts often exploit the ignorance of their customers, these men are wonderful. I highly recommend them. I've used them for years for all my family's cars. Craig Castanet, Atlanta

MY HORROR OF THE MECHANICS THAT GET OVER ON SINGLE WOMAN WITH KIDS.. I TOOK MY 2004 FORD EXPLORER AND THEY SAY THEY PUT A REBUILT TRANSMISSION IN IT . WHEN I RECEIVED MY TRUCK IT WAS WAS RUNNING FINE 61/2 MONTHS LATER THE TRANSMISSION THEY GOT ME WAS NO GOOD. NOW BEING A SINGLE MOTHER PAYING THEM 1600 FOR THIS JOB I EXPECTED IT TO LAST MORE THAN 61/2 MONTHS.. SMDH A WASTE OF MONEY ... NOW THEY ARE WANTING ME TO PURCHASE ANOTHER TRANSMISSION.. MY MISTAKE WAS TRUSTING THEM TO DO AND HONOR THEIR WORD ..I NOW DON'T REALLY THINK THEY PUT A NEW TRANSMISSION IN MY TRUCK BECAUSE IT IS DOING THE SAME THING .. I SHOULD HAVE JUST TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHEN I HAD THE MONEY TO GET IT DONE. NOW I AM SEEKING TRANSPORTATION FROM FRIENDS AND FAMILY TIL I CAN GET ANOTHER CAR...SMDH

These guys saved me a $10000 mistake for only $30 bucks. Dropped in for a prepurchase inspection and a few minutes later I was staring at the underside of a nightmare in the waiting. Might have actually bought a disaster of a used car if it weren't for their friendly service and sharp eyes.

Affordable, honest, on time. Did great work. Didn't try to rip me off. Did exactly what they said they would for the price I was quoted. Will be a return customer.

I first encountered Apollon in 1983. I needed a major engine repair and basically picked them because their original location on Clairmont was near my residence. I have used them exclusively for my automotive service ever since.
That first experience and every other one over the past three decades have been characterized by the honesty, concern, competence, and affordability consistently delivered by the shop. The few times there was an issue it was resolved expeditiously at no additional expense accompanied by a sincere apology.
I have referred dozens of friends, family members, and associates to Apollon over the years. The feedback from these folks was unanimously positive except for one dissenter who I think was uncomfortable with a very slight language barrier. My parents traveled a hundred plus miles each way for over a decade to have Apollon handle any service beyond oil changes.
You do not have to worry about being up-sold on unneeded repairs. It is much more likely that you will be dissuaded from having unnecessary work done.
Allow me to state this simply and directly. These guys are honest, reliable, and inexpensive. How often do you hear that about a mechanic or any service provider for that matter?
George and Tassos are the best!

This repair shop was recommended by a good friend. I took my car to them because the engine light was on. They replaced four parts and charged me 440 dollars. I picked up the car and the check engine light came on again. I took the car back and was told that they would pay for the part and I would only have to pay for the labor. I was really unhappy to begin with because 4 parts were replaced. After leaving the second time the check engine light came on again after having spent an additional $100. I I called the owner and he said that he would call me right back. He did not. I will never take my car to this place again. They don't know what they're doing and they do not treat customers properly.

Very happy with the service here! Firestone told me I needed a new oil pan and was going to charge me $500. Ouch! Went to Apollon instead, left my car overnight (they seemed to be very busy), and drove away the next day in my car (no longer leaking oil) after only paying $165 total! Awesome! It's been a few days now, and my car seems to be doing well. Couldn't be happier. Thanks, Apollon!

A pleasant surprise at Apollon Auto Repair, no it was a miracle. I went in with what I thought was a big problem with my Mazda. The up-shot is it was fixed and I was on my way home in 30 minutes. This was the first miracle. The second miracle is the repair cost $20. How can this be possible in 2015, no way! Put your car in the hands of the Greeks, ask for Mr. Tassos and tell him 'Mr. Bill' sent you. Ask for another miracle.

I love Apollon! I have trusted Greg with my cars for 14 years. He has always been very helpful and given me great advice and personal service. I have referred most of my co-workers there and they have been pleased with the service as well. I am never worried about an up-sell or unnecessary repairs.
Now that I have moved to Chicago, I miss having a car place I can trust.

I had the unfortunate need for a towing company last weekend and called these guys at 6pm on a Saturday. They were reasonably priced ($65 hookup fee + $2/mile) and somewhat prompt (time crawls when you're waiting by the side of a highway). Jim, the guy they sent me, was friendly, helpful, and careful with my car, which I appreciated.
No complaints!

I've brought my cars into Appolon many times. They always quote hundreds of dollars less than other places. I've never had any problems with the work that they've done.

The bad reviews listed here at Yelp I think are a bit off, as I've been taking my 3 vehicles to George and Tassos for more than 5 years and never, ever have I had a problem with getting at repairs completed economically and correctly the first time.
I have had brake work, transmission, cooling, AC, general maintenence and have always been satidfied with the quality of the work done. I know they're not the fancy shops like you'll find in Buckhead (Jaguar, Lexus, BMW, Mercedes) but then again they don't have the outrageous pricing either. George and Tassos are fair in their labor rates and they do use good quality parts that in many cases are directly from manufacturer like Ford, Chevrolet, BMW, Mercedes, etc.
Now to their defense, they use to own 2 locations of the same name. The main location on Shallowford Road and I85 and a second location off of Peachtree Industrial, just south of I285. However the Peachtree Industrial location is no longer owned or managed by them.
Now you may wonder why I did not give them 5 stars? Well I don't think that any place is perfect, there is always room to improve, that goes for restaurants, hotels, and auto care centers. You can't go wrong with this place.

Until bringing my car to Apollon, I had been looking for a car repair shop I could trust for many years. The first time I visited this place was after my boss recommended it. I was surprised by how many cars they had in their lot. I thought they are either very good or very slow.
It turns out they are very good. They did the 90,000 mile maintenance on my car. They fixed everything that needed to be fixed and made recommendations about how to take the best care of my car going forward.
I always ask a lot of questions at repair shows. They were very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. This includes the guys in the office and the guys working on the cars.
After taking my car here twice in the last few months and taking my wife's car here once, I told them I would try to bring our cars to them for everything going forward.
On my last visit, I just dropped off my car, told them to fix what needed fixing and call me when they were done. When I picked up my car, I ended up paying less than I expected. Also, they gave me some good tips to help maximize the life of my car.

If I could give them no stars I would do it in a heart beat! They are the worst mechanics in the entire world. I took my car here twice, only because my parents said they would pay for repairs if i took it to their "wonderful" mechanic. Everytime any of my family members have gone here they tell us they need to replace the fuel pump(considering I had it replaced a year ago, this was B.S.) The prices they quoted me were absolute horrible. They over charged me, they also replaced parts that did not need to be replaced. My mother before buying her car took it here, they said the car was in perfect condition. What do you know a week later her engine blows. Hmm..sounds skethcy to me. The last straw was this week, my stepfather brought a car he was thinking of buying there. They said it was perfect. He tries to drive it for the first time this morning, and it won't start OR DRIVE!!! The mechanic's yet again said it was a bad fuel pump. This place istoo fishy and horrible with returning your calls. I told them to NOT touch my car, I would be taking it to another mechanic, they had already started working on it AND REPLACING PARTS!!! Even though I told them not too. If you go here, expect to get ripped off and have them replace your fuel pump while there at it. So seriously, DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!

When I moved to the area I heard Apollon was a good mechanic shop to use and I was thrilled being it was so close. I took my car because it was making a weird noise in the back. They told me it was one thing then when I called to see if it was ready (which I asked them to call me before any work was done and they did not) they said it was my back breaks which I knew it was not. I picked up my car, backed up and it was still making the same noise. I took it back and they replaced the wheel bearings, the noise was still there. I took it back again and they just sprayed my brakes with an oil and said it was my brakes. It is still making the same noise a year later. I gave them the benefit of the doubt so I took it back when it was overheating. They replaced a hose. A couple months later it was overheating again and they replaced "a different" hose. Then one week later I was driving down the interstate and it started overheating. When I opened the hood it was the exact same spot that was leaking one week before. I had to have it replaced in Brunswick, GA. When I got back from my trip, I went back up to get a refund and they claimed they did not replace that hose. It was the exact same spot, exact same hose but the receipt listed it as a heater hose which is the one they claimed they did the first time, not the most recent time. They would not refund me the money. I gave them the benefit of the doubt one too many times. And I have been told by another person that they too had to take their car back multiple times for the same issue. I will not take my car there again! Beware!

At first, i bought into the reviews on kudzu and thought that they were honest and good. I took my car to them first to get my brake pads replaced. But I later took my car to another mechanic cause I kept hearing screeching sounds everytime i pressed on my breaks. He is a good friend of ours and has been a mechanic for 25 years. He told me that the brakes were not installed properly and also they used very cheap break pads even though i paid around 300 to get front brakes replaced. I am very disappointed since i heard such good things before but i have learned my lesson and will never give them any of my business again.

I give good props to this place. I was worried because their lot was packed when I got there, but they were able to repair my brakes very quickly and I felt it was a very fair price. They did not mess around and got it done quickly and efficiently and that is really all I can ask!

I took my Audi here when my alternator broke at a very financially inconvenient time for me. These guys are great! I normally would not even review a car repair place, but these are genuinely good people and they deserve the best of luck with their business.
Generally, Audi repairs are very pricey. I called around several places to get a feel for the price to replace an alternator for my car (as well as replace my $100 battery which the alternator took with it when it died), and not only did Apollon have the lowest price ($425), but they were such warm, happy people. Then, of course, AAA dropped off my Audi at the wrong Apollon location. Apollon had someone tow my car, free of charge, from that location to the Shallowford one.
The best part is, when I came to pick up my car, I gave the owner four one-hundred dollar bills, and a fifty expecting $25 back (since my total was $425). He smiled and handed me my $50 back, knocking my price down to $400 just to be nice. He knew I could use any break I could get (I wrote on the key tag--Please fix my alternator for the lowest price possible, Thank you *smiley face*) and he even popped my front bumper back into place free of charge, since I have a bad habit of pulling into parking spaces too far.
This is my favorite car repair place in Atlanta, and I have tried quite a few! I strongly suggest you go here if you want an honest and reliable mechanic for any kind of vehicle.

Listen to Laura S. even though she's an orange head! This place is beyond terrible customer service. The only plus is that they are open on Sunday.. but that is about it! Came by for a quote on my broken right blicker light, and they were nice, said to call Monday and they'll order it for much cheaper then at the Dealer Ship, quoted me for 30.00 for headlights and 20.00 for labor, ok fair deal, I was stoked. So I call Monday and they guy who helped me Sunday was not in, so the person who answered said try Tuesday. I call Tuesday, guy is still not in, and I asked well can you please order the parts so I can get it done? The guy on the other line literally said nah, i'd rather you call back when he's in so he can help you.. WTF!! Not that hard to order freaking parts.. and set me up for a damn appointment. Losers.. bad customer service..from the get go!
DO NOT GO HERE! If you have a Toyota or a Lexus I highly Recommend Toyotechs.. read my review!

We take all our cars (BMWs, Toyotas, and a Saab) to Apollon. Tazos, Elias, and George (the owners) are the best! They tell you straight up what's wrong and don't fix things that aren't broken. We trust these guys completely and recommended them to all our friends many who also go there regularly for service.

Absolutely the best mechanics in town. My family and I have been using them as long as I've been driving (so, 8 years now), and they have always been honest, trustworthy, and a great value. These guys have been in the car repair business for years, and, trust me, they will find out what's wrong with the car and fix it quickly and cheaply. Especially as a female, it's hard to find a mechanic who you can depend on and trust not to rip you off. Well, ladies, look no more!

I took my car here after my transmission failed. They were able to quote me about 1/2 the price that the dealership quoted me, but unfortunately that was the only good thing that came out of taking my car here. The dealership quoted me $4000 and they quoted me $2500 so since it was cheaper, I asked them to do a maintenance check while my car was with them (aka oil change, tire rotation, etc), to have my windshield replaced (there were 2 huge cracks) and to also get a quote on how much it would be to replace the interior air vent knobs because 3 out of 4 were broken. I specifically told them to please call me with an estimate before they began working on my car, but did that happen? Of course not. After a little over a day of my car being there, I never heard from them so I had to call them. They gave me an update on everything but the vents and I OK ed it but told them to call me with the cost of the vents which they said they would know by the end of the day. They never called me back. I called them the next day. Bottom line- I have never met a business who had such crappy communication skills with their customers. It was insane! I finally got my car back (5 days after they said it would be ready) but after driving it a 1/2 mile down the road, I had to turn around and take it back because it was pulling really badly to one side and the windshield wipers weren't working. They kept it another day but were unable to fix the wipers and said to bring it back in on Monday (I was going out of town to see family). Later that day I noticed they had broken the LAST interior air vent that was still working and neglected to tell me!! And, lastly, I took my car to a REAL auto repair shop where my parents live and had my windshield wipers checked out (as well as the rest of the car bc at this point, why WOULD I trust these guys?) and it turns out the genius who replaced my windshield put in the WRONG windshield!! ...I called them and they gave me the guys number and I called him and spoke to him and he told me he would call me back, but what do you know?? I haven't heard back yet. Screw this place! You're much better off taking your car to the dealership. You will pay more, but you won't have to deal with this B.S. Every last person working there needs to take a class or two in business etiquette.
