After spending over $1,000 at Cats, and having my truck barely start and run roughly, I was rudely told "it is an old truck with HIGH mileage (only 107,000 miles), "that's how it is supposed to run." They were eager to sell me more parts outside of warranty, which did nothing to help improve the running quality of my vehicle. I have mechanical automotive knowledge, and was treated rudely by Mike when I attempted to articulate the vehicle's problem. Today, I went to another local shop that was able to diagnose and fix the problem for less than $100. The part that Cats installed had an internal issue causing poor performance. I was sold additional parts unrelated to the initial problem (new spark plugs, wires, & distributor). I will not be returning Cats.

Consistently Good Work & Service

A very good place to use for a single visit or if you're trying to make your car last a few more years. Our family have been taking our Honda Accord and my old 1996 Ford F150 to these folks for several years. We've never had to take a vehicle back to them because something wasn't done right the first time. They've always clearly explained any problems. They've explained to us the options for repair or service, with the costs and the effects depending on our choice. There has never been any pressure to make one choice over another. We've obviously been very satisfied with them and will continue taking our vehicles to them for everything from basic maintenance & tires or major repairs.

I always deal with Junior, and he has a great way of making a stressful situation a lot easier to deal with. I no longer worry about who I can trust when it comes to car repairs. I have sent my friends, family, and coworkers to Cats as well and they have all been extremely satisfied. I work for a major insurance company and I have even told my clients about Cats as well. I wish there was an option for 0 stars. Complete rip off beware. My friends had warned me to stop going there but I continued going there. Couple months ago my sister wanted to get a oil change so I recommend she take her ford there, they did the oil change and than continued to tell her that she has a major oil leak and if she didn't fix it, her car would catch on fire. To get a peace of mind I had it checked out by a different mechanic and no oil leak found. Also got it checked by ford dealership and no oil leaks found. Giving them the benefit of doubt I continued taking my car there. Today I took in my Mercedes to get the battery changed which I purchased at autozone. I looked up a video on how to do it and realized I didn't have the right tools to remove 2 bolts that hold the battery down. Of course without a thought I called cats auto and they said bring it by it'll be $20 to change it. I figured $20 is worth it for the time I'll be saving. When I got there, they went on to explain that changing a battery on a Mercedes was a 1.5 hours labor time (approx. $90) because when the battery would be removed my Mercedes has 6 ECU's that would need to be re programmed otherwise the car wouldn't start. Knowing my friends and sister had a bad experience about them being shady and charging for things not needed, I left for a 2nd opinion to Midas down the street. They were able to swap out my battery in less than 15 minutes and charged me $20. Also I learned there is no reprogramming of any sort required. Cats auto has lost my trust and my business for my 5 cars that use to be taken there on regular basis. Please beware of this shop. Also all recommendations came from owner himself who is usually there at the front desk.

My 75-year-old mother took her car to cats to have her oil changed and tires rotated
After taking her car back to cats a second time to resolve some issues with the front end noise I have to say that cats auto totally took care of my mother. They treated my mother with respect and also took her back in the garage to show her exactly what they did to her car which helped her understand the problems her car was having.
My mother originally thought they were being misleading with the problems the car was having but after getting more involved she realized it was just a miscommunication and lack of knowledge on her part
I would like to thank cats auto for helping my mother understand the situation
They did a great job!!!
She is totally satisfied and would definitely bring her car back again for more repairs
Now my mother feels bad that she had me post a negative review
So now we can disregard the first review. Thanks again cats auto for getting it all straightened out

1st experience: 5 Stars (they fixed my car quickly and offerred me a little off the bill.
2nd experience: 3 Stars (they fixed my car quickly but said they would throw in an oil change which I ended up paying for. Miscommunication or misleading?)
3rd experience: 1 Star (they quoted me something I wasn't prepared to pay for without a second opinion and the guys did everything they could to get me to service the vehicle before leaving claiming they could fix it to bare bones so it's driveable. I declined (luckily!) because the next two shops I took it to for 2nd and 3rd opinions both said Cat's suggestions would have cost me more in labor than was necessary.
4th experience: There won't be one!

get a second opinion trust me i thought they were so good i brought in all 3 of my vehicles they got them in and out so fast i thought they were great on my last visit i brought in donuts cakes i thought i made new friends as. i drove the last vehicle home it started on fire i got it back to the shop mike tried to blame me he fixed it no charge of course but it still has the same problem it starts sometimes so i started checking the work on my other vehicles my. truck which cost me thousands was almost out of oil after they repaired it gave it back to mike they claimed they fixed it with no explanation final car was checked for oil leaks at a charge of course they claim to fix all leaks the power steering was almost dry still adding oil to this day they took my kindness for a weakness and crushed my trust in mankind im not a preacher or a. saint but i believe in god so believe me when i say i swear to god i firmly believe that someone or two did me wrong i lost thousands there i will go to jiffy lube for oil changes from now on i lost thousands of dollars here please if you do go when they tell you that you need this and that please get another opinion i am still hurting financial and can't get over how no one cared one more thing when i drove in with my van on fire i kept it safe distance so if it blew up no one would get hurt or worse but believe it or not good old mike told me to go out there and move the van closer because his guys were not going to carry a fire extinguisher 100 yards yea no shit it made me pick a star or it would not post if there was anything less than 0 they would get

I like this shop a lot. Auto mechanics always have that feeling like you're about to be ripped off at a moments notice. Not at Cats, they explain everything that is going on with your car. Or for instance my car: it looks great! You'll need tires in a little while but not quite yet. Where else do you hear that? He did mention when I do need tires to come back because he has three different warehouses he can get them from for cheap. Love the fact that they do an inspection of the entire car, and fills or lowers your tire pressure just with an oil change. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

They guy even printed out a report for me to show my previous mechanic (to prove he made a mistake on a repair). He was honest and didn't want to make me pay for a repair twice. Don't get fooled by the low prices, they beat all the mechanics price and then they put my car into a condition where I had no choice but to add their "add-ons" and got charges $120 extra. Their labor prices are extremely high as well. it also took them 2 hours to put two tires up. Not worth it.

major rip offs.
1. the guy that took my car for a test drive he did burn outs. he hit the gas and took off. showing no respect for ones car.
2. i wanted to do only my front brakes as in pads and rotors they did the front and back brakes with new pads, rotors flushed my brake fluid and others and charged me $540 he said he gave me $40 discount but he just made it look like he did so typically it was $580 and he put it to $540, so it would look like i got a discount. i was mad they did he said you pay or you dont get your keys.
3. i wanted ceramic brake pads and i paid for ceramic, they gave me metallic. how do i know..... if you have metallic pads on, your rims will be dirty. if you have ceramic pads they wont get dirty because ceramic is a better material.
4. the cat that they adopted was a total pain i was busy doing my college work while i was waiting. the cat comes by me starts going through my legs ,which i dident mind. but when he jumped on my books and papers that pissed me off and he dident want to get off. so he got my papers dirty.
5 i wanted to know how much it would cost to tint my car. he said $400 for all windows including front 6 in strip. fuck that i paid $250 at all auto body in elk grove and they still are on till now, nothing was wrong no bubbles no film coming off.
THESE PEOPLE ARE MAJOR RIP OFFS MAKES SURE YOU GET WHAT YOU WANT AND SEE THAT THEY ARE PUTTING ON WHAT YOU WANTED AND PAID FOR.

I think if you read all the reviews here you get the idea of what this place is all about. We took all of our vehicles here regularly for a couple of years. We seemed to notice that every time we brought a vehicle in for their $9.99 oil change, they always seemed to find something else that needed repair. The straw that finally broke our back was when it was recommended that a tire needed replacement because of low tread. This tire was brand new!! We decided it was time to find a new shop.

I went here to get brake shoes replaced the guys there were very good and welcoming said that the car needed not only brake shoes but also rotors replaced, they took care of the repair the same day also offered me a discount. I felt happy not only because they did not charge me anything extra for inspecting in the first place, but also the service and parts were reasonable if not on the lower side ($240 for rear axle), I would defiantly consider them for any future auto repair B.T.W they have a really people friendly cat that you can pet along while you wait.

I brought my 2004 Venture in for repairs on malfunctioning wipers and door locks/remote start. From the start, I found the service to fast and friendly. The wiper issue was resolved promptly and the tech identified the issue with lock/remote start as a problem with the after market alarm system. Cats went above and beyond by bringing my vehicle to a nearby specialist who fixed the problem for a fraction of the replacement cost. I was kept informed and consulted at each step. I found Cats to be honest and I am extremely pleased with the results. I will return when the need arises.

They provide free wireless internet which always keeps me productive while I'm waiting. Lots of big leather couches means that there's plenty of area to spread out and have your own space even with lots of other customers. There's a TV on one side and a reading room on the other, so you can choose what you want and not be disturbed by the rest. The prices were half of the dealership and 15% less than other local shops. Great place. I drive 30 miles to get to this place because it's worth it.

The leather couches and free wireless make the waiting a lot more manageable. They are open on Sundays which is incredibly convenient.
