I have been coming here for a dozen years or so. They always do a proper and honest job, and I never have any issues. Its a one, and done. Just my my front brake pads and rotors replaced.

I first "discovered" Stewart at ProTech like over 25 years ago when his place was located on Hawthorne Blvd. next to Saint Joseph Church and have taken my vehicles to no one else ever since!
He is the only mechanic I trust, listen to and have learned from. He has given me many times over advice and "how to" instructions on parts/replacement items through the years. When I go in for tune ups, I can "feel" the difference when I drive out!
My oldest son now goes to him and we always recommend him to anyone/everyone thats looking for a honest, reliable and knowledgeable mechanic.
Had sons 2001 Celica GTS tuned up today, was in at 8:00am and received a call at 10:00am with his findings and recommendations (he knows my abilities/limitations on what I can do myself). Saved me over $50.00!

I first discovered Stewart and Pro-Tech Automotive in 2010. I felt like Columbus when I landed only difference I didn't plan on taking over the shop I just needed a mechanic that wasn't in the business of riping me off...especially being a woman and not having a clue about cars.
Luckily I have a Toyota and yeah who doesn't love working on a Toyota (fyi GREAT cars). Every time I've come here I've gotten quick honest answers to my repair needs. I'm off and running by end of business and Stewart checks my car from bumper to bumper and offers "suggestions" to help me keep my 95 Camry hitting the streets of Hawthorne for years to come...

My co-worker David W of Redondo Beach swears by these people. He has an older model Japanese SUV that runs beautifully. So I started using Pro-Tech. We had a problem with my 1990 Toyota Corrolla. We tried replacing the part ourselves but the instructions were off. Pro-tech offered to fix it using a Toyota originally part and guarantee their work. They were good about the guarantee when something wasn't quite right later. The car has since then runs great. I also had to have a car smogged and the owner Stewart will help you smog the car using a Star Station they know. If the car doesn't pass the pretest they will fix the car to pass Smog.
The car passed smog and Stewart only charged me for the cost of the Smog and made no money on it. More than value (should have charged me something) and
add honest to the list.

I have taken my car here a number of times per the suggestion of my friend and have never been disappointed. They always explain everything properly (enough for a girl who knows next to nothing about cars to understand) and give me all options available. They do honest, fast work at a great price!
I have a '95 Acura Integra and its seen its better days. When it comes time to take it in, this is the place I go to. I'm a big fan of Stuart and the guys here. Woohoo!

The Owner knows what he is doing! Often, I have received suggestions on how to reduce the cost of the necessary repairs. He only does what is necessary and has cost effective pricing. I trust him with all of my vehicles.

I would take my car here any day! I called because I was looking at a used car around the corner and thought I could take it here with no notice for an inspection. Stuart gave me tons of great information and help. The car was a salvage and I was worried. He told me they'd do a bumper to bumper inspection for $90. That's a deal to me for a car I really wanted. Turns out the car wasn't in very good shape at the curb so I passed, but considering the time and information Stuart shared, I'd go back!

While searching Yelp for a decent transmission repair shop I happened up the reviews for Pro-Tech. I have been meaning to post a review for the past year but laziness got the best of me. I went to Pro-Tech for many years and found the service to be very good until exactly 1 year ago. I'm not sure what happened to this shop or Stuart. I called one day and asked if I could stop in for a simple oil change but Stuart said that was just not possible, they were too busy. So, I made an appointment for later that week. I arrived at the appointed time and reminded Stuart that I had an appointment for an oil change. He looked at me like I was crazy, almost as if he didn't know me. Stuart said they were busy and that I would have to wait a bit until they could get to my car. Two hours later they began my oil change, so I spent a total of two and a half hours in their mangy waiting area. Not to mention it was pouring rain and I never would have gone for an oil change except for the fact I had made an appointment and honor my commitments. The icing on the cake was that I told Stuart I wanted synthetic oil, important for the running of my car. He used regular oil. He looked me in the eyes and lied when I said "Did you use synthetic oil?" I knew he hadn't because I saw the tech come in the room and grab regular oil and the charge on my bill was that of a regular oil change. Synthetic oil is much more expensive. I felt like the ugly stepchild sitting patiently in their waiting area hoping each time the door opened it was to say my car was ready. Yes, I should have spoken up and said WTF but it was a rainy day and I didn't want to go outside into their shop. Until that point I had been a very regular loyal customer for many many years and always referred business to him. Thankfully Pacific Pitt Stop opened in El Segundo and I have gone to them since they opened.
And Stuart in the event you read this review, since I live in El Segundo, as do you, I have used an alias in writing this so I shall remain anonymous. A business you took many years to build will quickly go down the drain if you continue to treat your customers in this manner. When someone calls to make an appointment put it on your calendar and treat them with the respect they deserve. It was disrespectful to make me wait 2 1/2 hours. Furthermore, I'm sorry it took me a year to write this review.

I am fairly new to the south bay and had been searching on yelp for a good mechanic. I was a little hesitant to come here after I read some of the comments. However, I thought I'd give it a try since I met some friends at work who swore by Stewart, and I am glad I did!! Stewart was both friendly and professional. He gave me a free body estimate on my car and didn't pressure me into anything. He was informative and kept his word. He even lent me a shop vehicle while he was working on my car for the two days. He even offers a 12 month/12,000 miles warranty on parts and labor and I was very impressed with everything. If you want a honest mechanic, visit Pro Tech Automotive yourself. I wouldn't believe everything you read. .

Over the last two years, since I moved to L.A. from Colorado, I have used ProTech several times to keep my Pathfinder running after 337,000 miles. Their work was spot on and my SUV runs almost like new. They have immense knowledge of Toyota and Nissan engines. I would go back in a heartbeat.
