I came to know Mike and his wife through another business deal when I found out they run this business. Mike spent most of his career as an engineer, but decided working on cars was more fun. He's a genius. I took my 2004 Cavalier to another mechanic with a cylinder 3 misfire and he couldn't fix it (didn't charge me either) but didn't know what to tell me. Mike figured it out in very little time and now I'm back on the road.
Prices are average but he's honest and won't try to tack on unnecessary stuff. Definitely try this place out.

Professional servicing of foreign cars from people who have a genuine interest in the upkeep of customers' vehicles. They never try to tack on additional services to a visit. Also, the complementary loaners are a great convenience! I plan on getting my car regularly serviced by them.

I am a Technician at Capitol Mechanics, and the most satisfying thing for me is that I'm free to do what I need to to give the best service to our customers. I'm never rushed, and we truly try to consult with people with the purpose of not just getting the job done right, but making sure that it's exactly what they want, from an oil change on a Toyota to some complex high-end project car.

Great people doing a great job. My exhaust system was riddled with holes and I needed a new transmission. They had it done in less than a week, gave me a free loaner, and were VERY informative about exactly what was going on with my car. They gave me things to look for in the near future and didn't do any meaningless work just to milk me for cash. All in all great experience and I will be back.

I bring vehicles from my body shop to Mike and his team at Capital Mechanics when they have engine issues. I used him because I was referred to him from a networking group our business belongs to. He is awesome at what he does and I am beyond happy with the work he has done for me. Last time I had a vehicle at Capital Mechanics It needed a new engine and we got the car back in less then a week. There was a check engine light on and so we sent it back to Mike. He looked it over and could not figure out why we were getting a timing code. We sent it to the dealership and after 4 days they figured out the motor was a different motor then the vehicle was supposed to have. I guess a slight variation in the model was causing an issue. We found out that the junk yard that Mike bought the used engine from had labeled their part wrong and that is why we were having this problem. Mike paid for everything at the dealer and towed the car back to his shop. he forced the junk yard to take the engine back and give him the right one and after a couple days he had the car back to me. My customer who had to endure this process was taken car of beyond what most other shops would have done and I feel great bringing my cars to Mike whenever I need anything. Thank you Mike for being such a great guy and running a business that does the right thing for it's customers! I will be referring as many people as I can to Capital Mechanics!
