My husband and I had dealt with this shop before and for that reason we thought that our vehicle would be checked for any issues it may have. We drove it in and spoke with Bob the owner and we were told that they would call back by the next afternoon. When we were told that we needed a new tranny and it would cost a great deal more, we went for the truck. Our truck, no longer runs and unfortunately Bob states it is not the shops fault. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR VEHICLE!

I went to Budget transmission today because my check engine light was on and I am traveling across country. I was obviously concerned. Dennis was extremely helpful and patient in explaining what was going on. He spent a lot of time with me so that I left feeling reassured that I could continue on my journey and get my truck checked out at my next major stop. The staff was extremely professional, kind and courteous.
I would highly recommend them. I feel like they would not recommend anything that wasn't warranted and you can feel very assured that they are honest in their diagnoses

This is the first place that can give a repair estimate without ever looking under the hood then proceed with repairs without authorization. Expect to pay $1000 over fair market cost elsewhere.

. My ancient 1995 Explorer was starting to switch off the torque converter for a moment, bumping up the RPM a bit about every ten seconds or so while in cruise mode and entering long medium grades on the highway at 70 mph. I checked fluid level and it was fine but the fluid really needed changing. I live three hours away on a ranch but the crew was able to get me in the next day when I had another appointment in town.
. Bottom line: they pulled the pan and noted clutch dust indicating lots of wear and some small metal debris. They also noted fluid leaking at the rear of the transfer case and found the output shaft had play, likely causing the leak. They added fluid there - and didn't charge anything for it. They also repaired a wire on the diagnostic port and checked the code for the check engine light. Again no charge.
. I had asked for a full service including filter change but they recommended.with a transmission this old and worn not to disturb the filter and just go for the refill and pan gasket for now, for fear that going further could disturb the innards and create more problems. I was back on the road soon and the transmission operated perfectly.
. I am very aware that with more than 260,000 miles on a well worn Explorer that the new fluid could wash out more debris and cause problems, or other problems could occur and the transmission might last a short time - or it could be perfectly happy for some time into the future. But the crew at Budget Transmission Masters treated me fair and square, took their time, explained everything, and got me back on the road at minimal cost.
, I can't recommend them highly enough!

These guys are literally the best. No snake oil or cutting corners here. My 15 yr old SUV (bless its heart) pooped out 40 miles north of abq. We took a look at the bottom of my car and it was spewing red liquid. Not knowing whether or not we would be paying $150 or $3000 dollars for what was clearly a transmission issue, we had it towed here. They were closed when we arrived, but there was a convenient ket drop available. Called first thing the next morning and they were already looking at it. Even though they were super busy (20 cars that day), I got a call a few hours later telling me a plug needed to be replaced. That's a $3.99 part. They didn't try to upsell me or anything. They even discounted the labor and tested my car for an extra 20 miles to make sure it could withstand my roadtrip goals. I walked away with a car that's running way better than it did and a free bag Mexican candy one of their employees made. Best service and price available!

I am simply giving this place 5 stars for the kind and helpful associates. On my way to ABQ yesterday from Socorro (on a Saturday), my car started to heat up after going to 70 mph. Freaking out, I soon called this place based on the Yelp reviews and asked if they were available to fix my car. I was worried because usually auto repair places are busy on the weekends, but this place was luckily not :). When I came inside, everyone was really kind and helpful. The testing was FREE and the wait was not that long ( less than 30 mins). They said I needed a radiator replacement and a thermostat because they discovered that there was so much "junk" inside. Additionally, they mentioned I needed to get a transmission mount which solved my innate problem of wondering why my 1999 Mazda was going a subtle clunk-clunk every time I tried to accelerate.
Unfortunately they couldn't fix my car because the labor would be longer than their closing time which was 12pm. However, they did not let me down! They called in a Pep Boys Associate named, Phil, who was gladly to fill me in over there.
Overall, I would recommend people to go here!

Thought they hustled me on the price, first quoted me a low price then kept adding something called hard parts, at the end of the day the price was almost double what I was originally quoted. II felt like a got taken and woudnt go back there again.

Couldn't recommend these guys any more. They immediately put us at ease when we called from 2 hours drive away and gave us advise in attempting to fix and manage the the issue before even meeting them. When we arrived they fit us in for a free assessment within an hour despite being very busy. One of their guys took our RV for a drive with us to listen to the problem. Despite not having the necessary parts and available time fix our car, they gave us advice re: seeking cheap parts and someone to service it at a later date as the issue wasn't urgent. They were incredibly friendly, helpful and even gave us some hot tips on what to see on our one day in Albuquerque. Thank you!!!

If we could, we would give them 10 stars!
Our transmission blew 200 miles outside of Albuquerque, NM on the way to CA. Needing to get to CA in a few days for work, we received royal treatment at Budget Transmission. They went over and above what we have ever received in past automotive places. Helpful, hospitable, heaven sent. Thank you, Bob, Jordan and the incredibly talented crew. It was the smoothest ride returning back to OK and we are so thankful that if something like this had to happen, we are glad it happened there.

They replaced the clutch on my son's Hyundai. We were worried because he needed to drive the car back to college in just a few days. Went expecting a very expensive transmission replacement. after leaving my car for a very expensive rebuild, I was called later to inform me that my car was ready for less than 200 dollars. They could have easily taken my money and I'd been none the wiser. They were polite,friendly and professional. I wish more businesses were run this way.

Picky/fussy about my vehicle maintenance, I went in to have my long-time sloppy manual transmission linkage checked since the reviews for this place were good. I will say they were technically competent and found exactly what the probelm was (missing linkage bushing), but did not have the parts and had to call the dealership to check for the parts. Meanwhile, I went to the dealership and ordered the bushing for less than $10 (just to check up on the trans. shop's honesty) and it installed it myself in under 1hr. Still waiting to see what Budget had to say, much later that day I received a call saying they would have to replace the entire transmission linkage for over $200. I have to imagine 1 of 2 things: A. they didn't want to do such a small job and didn't want my business or B. They were trying to rake me over the coals. On top of that, they tried to insist that my main transmission seal was severely leaking (which I KNOW it wasn't since I changed the fluid myself) because the trans was slightly wet from the synthetic oil I put in the trans. PS every transmission leaks after a while. I question their business ethics but would trust that the technicians know their stuff since that was my experience. If you do go here, STAY ON TOP OF THEM!

Terrible customer service and service, period. A transmission shop that knows nothing about transmissions. Went in with a shifting issue and had my truck for two days, told me it was a fan clutch. Had that fixed by another shop and went back with the same problem, owner told me I might need a new radiator. WHAT?! I had to tell them how to actually check my truck for the problem and what to look for. Took them another two days to fix what was wrong. A simple pressure sensor and solenoid. 4 days of down time 2 hours labor. On the way home the parts failed. Solenoid was bad and didn't plug in the harness all the way in the sensor. Had to limp the truck home 400 miles to someone who knew what they were doing. These guys are a joke. Don't waste your time with them, find another shop.

i was traveling from Nebraska to Arizona when my transmission went out in Albuquerque. I called the first add I saw in the phone book . Budget transmission masters took me in right away. They gave me a quote and got started on my car. They even gave us a ride to our hotel. They picked us up in the morning when my car was ready. I would recommend this place to everyone. Very kind and honest people.

Took a running vehicle in for torque converter repair. They did anything but the work, and had to have it towed home. Charged me for a radiator cap, and said they put oil in it, but no oil in the pan. Guess what? I had topped off all fluids before. Thieves and liars.

I was driving cross country a couple of weeks ago when my manual transmission started having issues. The customer service and mechanic staff were not only on point with the issue, but they sent me on my way in a timely manner for a great price. Whether you are traveling, or in town, (personally, I'd have my car towed hundreds of miles before I'd let anyone else touch my ride,) Budget is the only choice. Hell, I'd even get my car towed from Virginia if my transmission needs any work again! Thank you guys...

I can honestly tell you I was looking for a part that was special order. I stopped in and the owner was more than willing to assist. The owner provided information, made phone calls and eventually had one of his workers go find a used part...
