The gentlemen at Larchmere accommodated my schedule and made it easy to drop off my car, even giving me a loaner vehicle as I am commuting over 40 miles for quality European car service. The techs were very informative while diagnosing the problem and started with the simple solution to try and avoid unnecessary labor. It turns out that the solution was more complicated than the initial fix and Larchmere Imports picked up where they left off and solved the problem. They did not add extra costs for replacing parts used during the initial visit and I felt that the diagnostic procedure was exactly how I would want a quality shop to approach an issue. I feel that Larchmere Imports is a fantastic shop with caring. friendly and knowledgeable staff and I will gladly support this small, local business.

I lived in Cleveland for several years and had my 323Ci serviced by this shop regularly. The reason for my 1 star review? When my license plate light was out, the owner showed me a diagram on the computer of the trunk in their office, detailing the trunk disassembly required, and why it was going to cost several hundred dollars to repair. I didn't get it fixed until I moved to Pittsburgh. $15 wire repair job at German Motor Werks in Pittsburgh. I was never sure if their services that cost me several thousand dollars over the years were legit after that. I assumed I was getting honest service. But the license plate light was my last experience. I would never go back.

I have used Larchmere Imports to repair my 1998 BMW 540i and 2007 BMW 328xi. They have always done an outstanding job and have made honest recommendations about the upcoming/anticipated services needed by the cars. The prices are a bit higher than the average non-dealership shop, but I am willing to pay them because of the honest, high quality work they have performed on my cars. The work has been done in a timely and competent manner, and I always enjoy the unique loaner cars I get to drive.

These guys know their stuff, but are pricks and way over charge. In all my years of owning BMWs, I don't think I've ever come across guys this rude and unwilling to help/give advice unless you're willing to regularly drop thousands on service.
For the kind of money they charge, you're better off going to Cleveland BMW in Solon. To be honest, it'll probably be cheaper.

I'm going to be the minority report apparently. I don't understand how these guys get good ratings. First they lied to me on the phone about the price of an oil change. I can understand getting the price wrong on a complex procedure that needs further diagnostics but an oil change? Come on. Also they lied about being able to reset the oil service indicator. On the phone they said they would , then when I picked the car up they said they didn't have the tool to do it!
Also , when I came to get the car I had to wait until they got the guy riding it around to bring it back to the shop!! They claimed it was to warm the oil up to check it. I guess they never thought about doing that while the car idled, which would work just as well.
I would run , not walk away from these liars.

Fantastic shop! Hands down, the best around.
I had what I considered a tough case. A 1986 Porsche 944 that I bought a while back and have been trying to "get straightened out'. Previous mechanical was done by very reputable NE Ohio Porsche shop, but due to a scheduling rush, I went to Larchmere for the first time. The original purpose was to get my A/C retrofitted and running, but also with the open ended request to find anything else they thought should be addressed. They got the A/C running very well. R134a retrofit, new compressor and condenser have it blowing ice cubes. But they also found several other things my previous regular mechanic missed (even though they were Porsche specialists). Dave, the master technician found my strut mounts were seized and that the entire idle system needed an overhaul. My car always idled rough when cold, but previous shop brushed that aside since it smoothed out in a minute or two. But the A/C work done at Larchmere highlighted that this was a problem that needed to be addressed (A/C kicked on and car idled as if it were cold). They diagnosed a bad idle control valve and corroded air intake. Mike sourced the parts faster than I could imagine, and got the car back together in time for a long-planned road trip. The car simply runs like a dream now. Mileage is up, steering is great and A/C is cold.
These guys seriously know what they are doing. I am very particular about this car (ask Mike at Larchmere) and I do NOT easily trust people with it. I don't want anybody practicing on my car, but they had the experience and knowledge to diagnose problems others missed, fix them quickly, and correctly and if possible to rebuild parts instead of just putting new parts in. This is significant not just for cost, but also since original Porsche parts are excellent quality compared to lots of the available aftermarket parts. Awesome shop, I am thrilled to have taken my car there and will from now on!

I've taken my 2004 MINI here twice and had a good experience both times.
I took my MINI in to get diagnosed for an engine light, which was preventing me from getting plates and thus driving legally. I had already pulled down the error codes, and Larchmere Imports independently determined the same part was raising the code, did some tests, and replaced the part. Additionally, they caught that my rear license plates lights were no longer functioning, and repaired them. I was appreciative of this, as I might have never noticed myself, and was told those are required by law.
I should mention that my car had been previously worked on by Classic MINI. They diagnosed and replaced a *very* expensive part (the DME/ECU). I am still suspicious over whether or not that repair was necessary/legitimate. Since I had just purchased the vehicle preowned, these repairs were coming out of Honda of Mentor's pocket, and Classic MINI probably had high incentive to overcharge. Whatever the case, the *much* cheaper part that was additionally if not solely responsible for my engine light was not diagnosed or replaced until I took my MINI to Larchmere Imports.
Larchmere Imports were also willing to give me a loaner for the period that they had my car. Without sounding ungrateful, I was a little disappointed that it was an older BMW -- going from a MINI to a car twice the length that handled (not poorly but) completely different was not a great experience for me, and I would have preferred at least a smaller car. But it kept me on the road for the work week and saved me in renting a car or taking the bus, which matters more than my driving comfort.
More recently, I had my MINI towed in to get bailed out after a bad DIY. Before work was done, I was called to make sure that the intake manifold bolt that I had lost couldn't possibly be in the engine, as he didn't want to start the engine with a bolt inside of it. I echoed those sentiments, and was pleased that they were concerned as well, rather than for example starting the car thoughtlessly. They found the bolt (outside of the engine) and called me to confirm that they had found it, putting me at ease, and reinforcing that they would never invent problems to increase their profits.
I also left with them a piece of wheel trim for which I didn't have the time or tools to install, and they very helpfully installed it at my request and at no charge.
Additionally, and presumably in response to me inquiring about their detailing services, they washed a couple months worth of rock salt off of my car. I had never seen the body of my car so clean in a long time; and the red paint really popped in a way that I had forgotten. Not sure if it was more than just a simple wash or not, but I was stunned with the way it looked nevertheless.
The towing service they recommended (Vitalone's Services) did a great job at hauling my MINI onto a flatbed, using the correct tools and hauling points on my car. I didn't have to pay for the towing up front; rather it went on the final bill that I paid when I picked it up, which is definitely convenient and streamlined.
Above all, Larchmere Imports are honest and only do the work that needs to be done. In fact, many times I have suggested things that might need repairs and was told that they weren't necessary at the time, or given a timeline for when those thins should actually be fixed. It could be argued that they are perhaps a little too conservative in this regard. If you want them to fix something that isn't broken (my power steering pump was noisy but completely functional), you have to push a little bit. This is probably a good thing, but if you're OCD like me and are eager to fix just about anything, just let them know you understand what you're asking for.
I feel that it's important to note that they're not inexpensive and, at least for MINIs, their rate approaches that of the dealership. However, Larchmere Imports are incredibly trustworthy and do excellent work. Peace of mind is priceless.

Great service as always. I "high centered" my Z4M Coupe at a NYC parking garage and then scraped the very low clearance air dam on pulling out.
Larchmere found some difficult to find parts, and fixed my car perfectly in a timely manner and at fair price.
I only use Larchmere for my fairly high strung Z4M.

To be honest, I visited the store after reading all the positive reviews here.
"Knowledgeable", "Professional"?
Disappointingly, what I've found here is lack of professionalism and sense of arrogance.
The guy referred me to another body shop when I asked him about some exterior problems, which is okay since they are specialized in mechanical repairing and detailing. However when I started asking questions about door repair/oil change service/ interior detailing, he seemed very uninterested and answered all questions simply by giving prices, turning the conversation into a "I wouldn't say a word until you pay the money" mode.
At last, when I asked if one of their guy could take a quick glance at my car to at least know what my concern was, the reply was "you need to make a 1-2 hour appointment for that and it takes 150-200 bucks"
I truly hope that I could have found Larchmere Imports a great auto repair shop as their costumer reviewed because it's not easy to have European cars served in right place and this one is so close to where I live...

After spending way too much money and time at the BMW dealership, the issue we had with our X5 became enough of a problem that we sought out a shop in Cleveland after moving here from Missouri. Larchmere was awesome! Not only did they repair the dreaded "Self-Leveling Suspension Inactive" issue that no one seems to be able to figure out (do a Google search and you will find a host of others with the same issue), but they also saved us a ton of money by working with our warranty company to get some of it covered. Additionally, one of the gentlemen took the time to answer my questions and explain what they found.
Best of all? They had a free loaner available for the duration of the service! HUGE plus for us.
Long story short, we wholeheartedly recommend Larchmere Imports!

If you own a Land Rover, you know the pleasure and pain that these vehicles can provide. The pain coming from servicing these vehicles. First of all, no one wants to work on them, and secondly, Land Rover makes it prohibitive to do so oftentimes. This can be difficult because every Land Rover service location that I have been to has gotten a maximum of 2 out of 5 stars feedback for the service that I have received...and I have been to Westside, Solon, AND Akron!
If you are outside of your warranty period, there is still hope. And that hope is found in Larchmere Imports. While I believe that their specialty are BMW's, the staff have broad knowledge of imports and vehicles in general. They are topnotch! Honestly, unless I have to go to Land Rover I will go nowhere else. John, the president, and Dave, the general manager, run the business like it's supposed to be run...like they want people to tell their friends, and like they want to be around and growing for 100 years.
The service isn't the cheapest in town, but it's done expertly and they will truly educate you on your vehicle. Actually on my recent service (the dreaded one to change the belts) I did save about 30% versus the dealer. They are so passionate about the work. I recently had a 10 minute conversation with John regarding a service on my vehicle. The conversation saved me from spending money that I was more than willing to spend in the shop...Dave has done the same with me in the past. They get the fact that that is what will keep me coming back in the future.
I do have a pending relocation to Brunswick in the near future, however I don't mind the commute back to Cleveland to take my truck to LarchMere Imports. I highly recommend these guys.

I had an okay experience here. I felt I had to call to check on the status of my car vs them being proactive and doing it themselves. Also, when I picked up my car, they didn't fix the emergency brake even though they said they did. How does that saying go...if you aren't going to do it right the first time don't do it at all? I am sorry,,,but after paying $1,800 in repairs and they couldn't even wash the outside of my car, I will take my car to Motorcars in downtown Cleveland from now on. Motorcars has FAR SUPERIOR service and will wash your car, offer complimentary shuttle service, and protect the inside of your car with paper floor mats...Larchmere doesn't do any of these things.

John, from Larchmere Imports is a truly GREAT guy! And he runs a world class business.
I was traveling from San Francisco, to Boston and stopped in Cleveland for 1 day to visit some dear friends. In the process, the hydraulic system related to my clutch leaked and not knowing who to call, I started with BMW in Cleveland.
Because it was a Saturday, I was referred to Larchmere, and it was the BEST REFERRAL they could have ever made.
John was there, diagnosed my automotive problem over the phone, and arranged to have my car towed to his shop, and he had it repaired within 2 hours, and I was 'back on the road'...
If I lived in Cleveland - John from Larchmere Imports would undoubtedly become my AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR SHOP of CHOICE~

My only complaint is that my car smelled like cigarette smoke for 2 days after the repair . I think the mechanic smoked in the car or had windows open while smoking near it. Otherwise great service!

I recently made an appointment with Larchmere Imports Inc. for a interior car detail. They were super professional over the phone and were able to get me an appointment for the next day. On the day of when I got my car back they had really gone above and beyond what I expected for just regular service. My car looked brand new and they even did some of the exterior without charging me extra. The staff was super friendly and professional, so all-in-all it was a great experience. I recommend them 100% if you're looking for a place near Cleveland Heights for car detailing!

I love that is a well run, focused, local small business. There is even a shop dog! Those attributes contribute to the feeling of customer appreciation every time there is phone or personal interaction. I first went in to get an estimate on my 2005 325i when it was closing in on 100K miles and I wanted to know a fair price. They convinced me to hold onto it and 5 years later I still bring it there and it still runs great. In stead of trading it in, I put money into it instead of making a new car payment and I bought a 135i for weekends.
