Thank goodness for this family owned honest business! My fianc and I recently moved to the area and we went into full blown panic mode when my service engine light went on. The stress of moving, starting a new job, planning a wedding and now a car that is giving up on me was almost to much handle until we pulled into this shop. Luigi, the manager was quick to help and very professional the minute we walked through the door. The waiting area was extremely clean and cozy. They were very clear about what steps were being taken to fix my car, which being a detail oriented person helped ease my anxiety. Today, this establishment served as our saving grace. I will be referring this place to family and friends. Thank you for the professionalism and honest work you provided to my fianc and I.
Side note, there are many little restaurants/coffee shops and even a hair salon within walking distance to keep busy if you are waiting while they work on your car.

Brought my Mini Cooper in for a routine oil change/check up few weeks back. I was very nervous to say the least, as the last mini cooper I had I brought up the block to STS and ended up having such a bad experience... and since then have been hesitant on bringing my mini cooper just anywhere... they can be finicky cars, and I didn't want a repeat bad experience. I called up, and Luigi from the start was honest, and nice... figured I'd give them a shot. Plus i read good review on here.
Dropped my car off first thing on a Saturday morning and picked it up within the time frame promise (an hr and a half). Luigi was super nice, from drop off to pick up. He assured me my car was practically still in brand new condition and all the questions I had were no cause for concern. My car drove like new, once the oil change was done and everything was checked and topped off. Also, while there found out they can do cosmetic work/add-ons to Jeeps which is great to know considering the fact that STS ripped my girlfriend off when putting steps on... and we are always looking for someone honest and reliable to do good work on a new jeep!
Only complaint, was that the price was a little high for my oil change/check up but was worth it. My inspection is coming up this next month, I will probably bring my car here and hope they give me a good price on this service, as they just serviced my car.
I recommend them highly for any work needed!

I recently took my 2009 Accord to High Grade as a follow up to my less than pleasant experience at the dealership. While getting an oil change with Honda, I was told I needed major repair on my car that would total between $1300-1500. Dealerships, in my opinion, give you the impression that if you don't fix it now aka yesterday, your vehicle will blow up. I had been eyeing High Grade for quite some time as I wanted to terminate my business with Honda. Having had horrible experiences with mechanics I trusted my vehicles to in the past, I hesitantly drove to High Grade. WHAT A RELIEF! I first contacted them online to get a quote. They told me to bring the car in. Made it there 30 mins before closing. They checked my car in and out. Told me I only needed minor replacements; my belt and filters and a few other things. Efrain & Luigui were more than helpful and above all HONEST. I was so thrilled, I brought my car back to them the following day to do the repairs. Luigui quoted me before I left the shop and Efrain called me later that day to give me a follow up and exact price of the repairs which totaled $200. I've taken most of there business cards which I've given to family and friends to do business with. I respected their honesty, stellar vehicular diagnostic skill, customer service skills, and above all practical nature towards there clients hard earned dollar. Now I consider them as my regular service mechanics.

My first time coming here, I pulled in on a hot summer day when they were just about to close up. They stayed an extra 2 hours to get me back on the road. They were honest, helpful and very affordable. Great service and great attitudes. If they didn't help me I don't know what I would've done. Today again I had an issue and I remembered them and went straight there and once again so quick to help! Great owner -great place -and great team !!

But to sum it up I was treated with respect, my car was repaired in a timely fashion and all of my questions were answered. I couldn't of been happier! I've been coming here for about 5 years now and Efrain lives by his work. His workers have the same work ethic and are very thorough in their work. Reliable, dependable mechanic work. The shop has a comfortable feel where you can wait, enjoy some television, do some web surfing and have refreshments as well. Efrain customized from scratch a dual catback exhaust for my Yukon Denali and I couldn't be happier with the work. Efrain can install and repair all your vehicle needs. It's way better than going to the dealership and troubling yourself with people who want to rob you of your money. At High Grade Automotive you get what you pay for....honest work.

This place has the most friendly and honest owner and staff. The issue I had was fixed in a timely manner and fixed the right way. They charged me even less than I expected to pay and it ended up being even cheaper than I was told it would be when I walked in. They're not looking to screw you here like some other body shops might. I highly recommend anyone bring there car here the next time they have a problem.

Frank simply goes above & beyond! He's very thorough in every aspect of the car. Seems to be very straight-forward & honest which is almost unheard of in the business so this is quite refreshing! If he continues this I can't see why everyone in all of Nassau county wouldn't bring their cars here rather than deal with the other crooks who when they're not ripping you off, are just simply incompetent or just don't care about your car. The only thing I can say negatively is that for some it may be overkill to absorb all the information he presents, and while speaking to him over the phone he not only talks very fast but is also chewing on his lunch at the time which doesn't exactly present the most professional picture. This may have been an isolated incident, & I understand we all get busy and have to multi-task, but when you're on the phone with a customer and especially have to do a lot of talking, put the sandwich down for a minute and finish the conversation, then eat! LOL!

Frank is a great guy and very honest. I have been taking my cars here for many years and they are always up front about what has to be done. I went in this morning with a screw in my tire and they told me that it did not go threw my tire and they did not charge me any money. Other places would have lied and told you that you needed a plug and some a new tire. I don't know why there is a negative review on this place. He has been in the Franklin Square Community for over 10 years and had been providing great service to everybody that comes into his place. Thank you Frank and the guys at High Grade for being honest and always doing the right thing.

found out about this shop on yelp and Im glad I listened to all the good reviews! Its probably the most knowledgeable, friendly, and HONEST repair shops I have ever encountered. After explaining my car trouble over the phone, Frank personally came to our house and picked up my car and had it ready to drive again within the hour, at a very reasonable price! He diagnosed the problem and was able to explain everything in layman's terms. He even gave my car a 30 point check over free of charge and did not try and push any unnecessary work, something plenty of mechanics try. I highly recommend 'High Grade Auto Repair' and plan on bringing my car back to them for whatever it might need in the future.

Thanks to 5 star online reviews, I found Frank and his crew (and his adorable kids). Very professional, very friendly, very fair prices, drop off and pick up too. Frank gave me estimates in a few minutes and being fairly priced, I went for it on the spot. They found oak nuts stored away in the air filter compartment! They cleaned that up and we did a big tune up and other minor items. All in all I am so relieved and happy to find a trusted mechanic shop for my Toyota (having moved and leaving my old trusted mechanic - Ray in High Falls NY). Thanks Frank and Luigi!! See you in 6 months for the breaks : )

Wow what can i say. what a great experience. Frank and his team at high grade auto repair are great, kind, and down to earth people. My car was misfiring and i took it here to get it repaired, not only did they tell me what the problem was they also explained it to me in great detail and in a manner i can understand. Frank is a real nice guy he runs the shop and kept me company as i waited while his guys fixed my car. They fixed my car in a real reasonable time and the price i paid was reasonable. I recommend frank and his team at high grade auto repair. Left feeling like they work more for the people and not for the money.

they were amazingly efficient, i've never spent such a short time in an auto shop before. did a test drive, went over what was wrong, physically showed me what was wrong. They took me in very last minute on a weekend and i was out within an hour and a half. Fantastic shop, reasonable pricing, and TRUSTWORTHY!!
