Got an estimate yesterday for a new clutch and brought it into them at 8:30am. By 10:30 they called me with the news that it also needed a flywheel (which I suspected anyway). I'd already researched the parts and labor, so gave the go ahead. Christine called me at 4:30 to tell me it was done. Not only did they fix the clutch, they cleaned up the corrosion on my battery and took the time to fix my brand new rear tire where the chrome was wearing the seal AT NO CHARGE. Something Tire Kingdom down the road should have done a week ago when I took it back to them 3 weeks after getting 2 new back tires from them! I'd been putting the clutch off because I didn't have time to be without a car for a while so I was happy that this was all done in a day! I also got a desperately needed oil change. So glad I went to them (based on all the great reviews!). I will be coming here for all future service and repairs from now on!

I was out of town when my wife's a/c started acting up. Spent $700 at a shop that fixed it for a day. Told her to take it to the dealer, they gave me a $2400 estimate. Hummel said they would do it for $900. She let them do it, then got a call that it also needed another part in addition to the evaporator. Another $400. A/c was cold again. Then she called and said at highway speed there is a wind noise by the windshield. Took it back to Hummel, they inspected and did something, but said they couldn't test it because it was raining. Next, condensation was building on windshield on her way to work. I told her to wait and I will take it when I get back in town. Today, I'm back in town and taking it to Hummel, all be it 3 months later. The first thing the service manager says is, "we always check the operation before and after we work on it". Funny, they didn't catch the noise on the test drive after. Anyway, next the service manager says, really 3 months later and you didn't notice it? I told her that i was out of town and my wife works so she doesn't have additional transportation. She rented a car through Hummel when the original work was done. I also asked the service manager wasn't there a year warranty on the work. She said yes, on the work they did. My word of advice, stay away! First, to tack onto the bill knowing that I am out of town. Then to be accusatory when you bring it back, for work they had done.

I really think this place is the real deal. I never feel like I'm getting scammed. Yet seem to be an honest group of hard workers.
Maybe I'm crazy, but I think it's a legit car service company (not many of them out there).
I've had a variety of services performed on 2 different cars from different decades and each turned out to be exactly what it needed. Never once did I have to return a week later bc the same thing/something new was happening.

To my great surprise......!!!!!!

I have been a customer of Hummel for over 8 years ( 52 year resident of the county ) and very satisfied with the services my 3 cars recieved there. When Sturat said he was going to sell and move out west I said "here we go again!". One gets very comfortable with service you can count on for reasonable pricing. Well I was pleasantly suprised that the new owners were as good if not better than ( sorry Sturat ) before. I don't know about you but I have been been dissappointed if not "burned" by new and cheaper service shops. ( one shop charged my wife $90 for a $8 hose and the job was $190 when Hummel charged $60). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this location for auto service!!!!!! P.S. Their tire services are very competitive with respect to quality and pricing.

Ok, So I went into Hummel 3 months ago after my brakes wore out on me while visiting pinellas from Tampa. I was in a time crunch and they were quick about the fix and sent me on my way after fixing the front calipers, front rotors, and front pads. I am highly dissatisfied with the poor quality products they replaced my OEM parts with. I am in a 2011 F150 platinum and after the $691.22 brake job I can proudly drive around with completely ORANGE rusty brake calipers. Apparently they gave me raw steel calipers. I called and had them take a look this past week and they said it is common and can't do anything about them. Funny I look up the cost of the brake calipers online going by list price through NADA, Autozone, etc, no replacement caliper cost $101.00 ea. I was told they use all WAGNER BRAKE PRODUCTS that meet or exceed OEM when I mentioned ordering the parts and having them install them. I really just took my girlfriends word when she said she liked HUMMEL and they "seemed" honest and straightforward. When they took a look at the brakes just recently they also diagnosed my overheating problem to be from the radiator overflow hose leaking and went on to explain that the labor charge was for a half hour on this hose. This job would have been around $145. They also suggested that I replace my upper and lower radiator hoses. This job would have been around $340. I was amazed by the high prices for hoses because I have changed a couple in the past on my other vehicles and they cost no more than $50 a piece. anyways, I went to another mechanic and after speaking with him for a bit about what was going on he told me all three hoses wouldn't take more than an hour and it would cost just $90 plus tax to have them installed. Ordered all three hoses for $113 with two day shipping and the entire job only cost about $205. OHH... plus the $40 diagnosis fee from Hummel and $20 for filling the radiator overflow. so about $265 vs HUMMEL $465. I really feel like they are not out there to provide quality and in depth options for your vehicle even at a reasonable price. RUSTY RAW STEEL CALIPERS ON A 2011 PLATINUM TRUCK? FOR $101 plus tax a piece? AND LEAVE A CUSTOMER DISSATISFIED? Take what you want from this review, it is simply that, a review of my thoughts on my experience.

Took my vehicle to Hummel based these great reviews. I needed my check engine light problem resolved and my rear brake light fixed. Hummel told me I needed a new temp sensor to fix the check engine light warning and a circuit board to fix the brake light. Great! I thought problem was solved -- until on my way home my check engine light lite up and I noticed my break light still didn't work. I scheduled a visit the next day for Hummel to investigate the problem. Turned out Hummel used a dud part on my break light. Problem solved, yay! As for the new temp sensor Hummel said they just needed to tighten it and now check engine light should not come back on. I drove home and the next day check engine light on again and my air conditioner was blowing hot air and things were not right so I immediately drive to Hummel and asked them to correct the problem. When I arrived we found a radiator hose was left loose and disengaged. Hummel tightened and told me the reason why my thermostat is not working is because I am not letting my vehicle warm up enough before I drive. I left Hummel thinking these problems were resolved. Unfortunately after a couple of days - same issue - check engine light on again, thermometer not registering, and air conditioner blowing hot air. I took back to Hummel 2 more times and I left thinking problem was resolved and had to return back to Hummel each time. I waited a few weeks contemplating to take to another mechanic but didn't want to pay so I took back to Hummel again. This time they told me they used a dud temp sensor so they replaced it free of charge and assured me the problem would be fixed. Next day my check engine light went on again. I was done with Hummel as they had proven to be incompetent to fix my check engine light concern. I took my vehicle to Advanced Automotive and they identified and fixed the problem right away! I had to pay an additional ~$200 to replace the thermostat but I'm so happy Advanced Automotive diagnosed fixed my check engine problem in one visit!! Where Hummel could not diagnose and fix it in at least 5 visits. I'm grateful for Advanced Automotive because of course I work for a living and being without my vehicle M-F was annoying with each Hummel return visit. It also embarrassing and inconvenient to keep taking my vehicle back to Hummel when they made me feel like I was the problem. Safe to say based on my multiple experienced with Hummel I will not recommend them and will not be going back to Hummel.
