This is the ONLY place I really trust to work on my Outback. They mostly specialize in the WRX and STi models for racing and street rod work, but they take care of my Outback just fine. Their prices aren't cheaper than a dealer by much, but the quality of the work is far superior.

Good group of guys. They kept me up to date with what was happening and even came in on Saturday to finish up before I needed it back. When I picked it up (on a non-business day), the owner Ryan talked to me for about 3 hours, helping me on my car, how to keep it running well, and all sorts of general car talk. Super friendly and helpful. I'll be back next time.

TurboTime deserves nothing short of a five star reputation. I have been wrenching on BMWs for twenty years and whenever a job was over my head I always took my cars to the most reputable independent BMW mechanic in town. Last year I bought my first Subaru, an Outback H6. During a road trip from Wilmington, NC to Raleigh I stopped for gas. My Outback would not go in reverse when I needed to back out from the pump. I knew I was in for it. I was 100 miles from home. I was left searching in the parking lot of a gas station for an indie Subaru mechanic. Thankfully I found TurboTime. TurboTime looked over my Outback and called me back a couple days later with the bad news, a bad front ring and pinion. I wanted to get more than one opinion since I didnt have a repair shop relationship for my Subaru. Wilmington doesnt have an independent shop specializing in Subarus so I called a repair shop that listed Subaru among multiple foreign auto brands and I called the Wilmington Subaru dealership for quotes. I also reached out to the Subaru forums for advice on the best course of action. TurboTime was awesome throughout the whole process answering my questions, but the thing that struck me was their diagnosis and quote was sent promptly. These folks know their stuff, but they arent arrogant. TurboTime worked with me to source a low mileage JDM transmission and in doing so saved me thousands over what the other shops quoted. Weve put 10k miles on our Outback since the repair and I am happy to report that the car shifts as it should. The next time our Subaru needs major work TurboTime will be getting the business. They are passionate about Subarus and they are an honest shop.

These guys are true artists. The custom tune they did for my STI feels so powerful, the throttle response so sharp and direct. It's not just about seconds shaved. They honestly made it feel like a whole new car. It is now significantly more FUN to drive. This may be the best money I ever spent.

I've taken my 2004 Forester XT to the guys at Turbo Time several times over the last year or so and I've been very pleased with the quality of service and level of communication every time. I would not consider taking my Subaru anywhere else for service.

I'm from southwest Virginia and had a used lemon sold to me through Shelor Motormile. Searching shops and Reading reviews online, I took the car 3.5 hours away down to Ryan at TurboTime in Cary. They got the car fixed and also educated me throughout the process. If you have a Subaru there's no reason you shouldn't take it to TurboTime. Two thumbs up!!!!!
