Baldwin automotive has been my family's go-to auto shop for master mechanic level, honest work. Jim and Chuck are two of the greatest mechanics in the city, and they are always professional, and always try to save customers money while offering a level of service that even the dealerships wont offer. I have brought them cars with problems other mechanics wouldnt touch and they always find a way to get them repaired. If you are in need of honest, quality work, Baldwin Automotive is the place to go!

Honest, fair, goes above and beyond, and is generous with his advice and information. Jim is incredibly talented with Subaru's, but can work on anything. He knows my '07 Subaru Legacy and my '00 GMC Yukon like the back of his hand. I can't say enough good things about this shop, and will continue to recommend it to all my friends.

Jim Baldwin has been my mechanic for over seven years. He will always have our business. He has worked on all the vehicles in my household, and also my friends' cars. Jim and his staff will always listen intently to exactly what you say your car is doing and take the time to educate you about your vehicle. The prices for labor and parts are always reasonable, and the work is always done within a fair amount of time. I highly recommend Jim Baldwin Automotive as your family's auto mechanic. Also known as "Baldwin Automotive". I took my Subaru Forester to this shop in the winter of 2012 because it was smoking and burning oil. The owner, Jim, said that he thought it needed new valve guide seals, possibly new valve guides, and I agreed to let him fix it for me. After four weeks of never calling me once with updates and continually pushing back my pick-up date I finally got my car back. It ran fine for less than 3 weeks before I started noticing the problems returning. I brought it back to him and he said that the machine shop he had do the valve job must have not done it correctly and that he would have them fix it. Well, after another 4 weeks I had to call again to find out when my car would be ready. When I got there Jim told me that he had installed parts I never authorized which I refused to pay for. Not only that but the car is still smoking and as far as I know nothing was repaired at all. $1700+ and a total of 8 weeks out of my car and for what??? I urge you to take your vehicles ANYWHERE else. Also, when I received the car back the first time the power door locks had mysteriously stopped working and Jim refused to admit that it was something they had done. Unbelievable experience. Never again.
