I've been an off-road enthusiast for years. Having a reliable off-road vehicle is a must. Since I use one of my vehicles as a daily driver, it is even more essential to keep up on the maintenance.
After a long trip my Jeep developed an annoying noise and I was losing power. Figured it had to be a drive-train issue. Sure enough, after having my Jeep towed to Extreme Off-Road out of fear of further damage, it took them about 2 minutes to figure out the problem. Sure enough, a bad CV joint, but it didn't end there.
Their staff did a thorough once over and found a cracked radiator. The cracked was so miniscule only a trained individual would have found it. And if a radiator gets bad enough, well you know the outcome. A possible cracked engine block. I was thankful they went the extra mile to do a complete check. They potentially saved me thousands.
While waiting, I noticed the extent of work. From basic upgrades to frame work, and spring over axle jobs. Finding this gem of a place was a God send.

Had my CV axel changed. Leaked after first repair, was told the seal where the axel met the engine needed to be changed. I hadn't asked for it so he wanted to charged me full price to pull the axel to get to the seal.
I completely felt that he would tell me to get lost if I didn't pay so we worked out a deal that he would charge me half the price to pull the axel. The seal was changed and the truck still leaked oil. I had to take the truck back a third time and it was found the axel was bad. He changed it out but would not refund my money when I told him it was never the seal and a bad axel.
I now have a bad vibration coming from the same axel he worked on and will not take it to Dave again.

Excellent service. Dave and the group run a top notch business that I'm glad to support with my business. He's taken care of both my Rubicon and dune buggy. They deliver what they promise and stand behind their quality wirk. What more can you ask fir in a local, independently owned business?

Went on the Rubicon and brought my Jeep to Dave after it started a nasty death wobble and the traction control master warning light came on. After crawling around my Jeep for a few minutes, he announced that my Drag Links were shot, my tie rod was bent and that my suspension was installed incorrectly. Since I did the install myself, I questioned the accuracy of that last statement and after calling Metal Cloak directly to confirm, I realized that this shop is full of ****. He wanted 600 bucks for new Drag links and a replacement tie rod before labor. Multiple phone calls to the shop to ask what brand of aftermarket Tie Rod they were going to install resulted in multiple, "I don't know and Dave's under a Jeep" responses from whoever answered the phone. 5 tries later I decided I had had enough. I took it to the Fresno Jeep dealership and asked them to diagnose it to confirm Extreme Offroad's diagnosis and, perhaps unsurprisingly, they said the drag links were fine. The tie rod WAS bent, however they said that it didn't need to be replaced (unless I wanted to go aftermarket) and that the death wobble would be solved with an alignment. I went to 4Wheel parts to confirm all of this and, one alignment later, the death wobble is gone. **UPDATE** Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on you. Fool me thrice, well... Took the JK here to have skid plates and a new exhaust installed. Skid plate installation went ok, but the exhaust that they ordered for my daily driver was so damn loud & droney I had to have it replaced with a quieter one from Flowmaster. They agreed to replace the exhaust, although I had to pay for the labor & shipping. They completely butchered the job. Crap welds, poor fitment, etc etc. Had to take it to another shop to have the work fixed on my dime. Never again, Extreme 4x4. Never again.

Nope. Not good. Bunch of kids working for dad. The work was sloppy. The costs was high. We had to have the work redone by another shop a short time span later. The place has a bad air about it. Whether dad is trying to employ his children or the rednecks are too stupid to see they are being taken for a ride. Either way we won't return. And the whole experience left a nasty taste in my mouth. You been warned. I wished someone had tipped me off before we wasted our time and money.

Called in for a simple price check. Not outstanding service, more like the representative was bored of people calling and didn't really feel like working today.
