It is almost impossible to get a same day especially on Monday appointment at G&M Auto Service. That said, oI had a Walmart battery blow up when I cranked my vehicle so I called Mike and explained the problem early on Monday morning. By 5:30 in the afternoon the exploded battery was removed and a new Interstate battery was installed. Mike went above and beyond to help this unworthy personage out. So I guess I got to give him a highly recommended 5 star rating once again. So this is it, thanks Mike.

We have used G&M since the days when they were housed in the Chevron station in the southern part of town, and have found them to be consistently reliable, honest, and efficient.
Keep in mind that they don't do huge jobs like rebuilding transmissions, so if you want a shop that does it all this isn't the place for you. But if you are looking for a good set of mechanics who you can trust with your car, this is the place.
We hated to have to leave them when we moved 30 miles away.

Great service. friendly. They are a bit busy so book ahead.
Had to recheck my daughters smog again because we move from a different county, but they didn't charge me twice.
Also honored my coupons for both my cars and washed the windows.
They could do a little better on calling and answering the phone in a timely manner. Still by far better than most.

Sadly, I've had trouble finding a good repair shop in Hollister and I've had a car here for 10 years.
We've been going to Mike for awhile and have been really happy with his service. He's always been honest about repairs and reasonable with his pricing. He always treats you with courtesy and respect when you arrive and they even offer to pick you up and drop you off to your home or place of work. If they're are any changes, they'll call you and let you know ahead of time what they plan on doing and tend to get it right the first time.
I would highly recommend them to any friends and family.

I have a long story, but the shorter version is Mike took care of my daughters mini van that broke down while driving through Hollister on her way home with her family. I found G&M auto repair, explained the situation to Mike and he took charge of the problem, fixed my daughters van so they can get home. If I lived in the area I would rely on G&M Auto for all my auto needs. I highly recommend G&M Auto repair for all you auto needs.

Like others here, we were looking for an auto shop that provided excellent, honest service. We found it at G & M. They don't try to sell you anything you don't need, but when they discover an issue during a routine maintenance they tell you about it and offer options on how to procede. I highly recommend them!

I needed to get two parts replaced in my car and I already bought the parts I needed, so I was looking around for a good place to go and found this place. they were awesome. Even Quoted me over the phone which the price was more than fair. Only took 2 hours and they called me when it was all ready. I loved that when I went to pick up my car the price wasn't jacked up like most places that give u a quote and the price is much higher than they said. I give this 4 out 5 becuase the guys were very talkative to me. I didn't get much of an explanation of whats going on but The place is awesome I just didn't get much communitcation from them. Overall I will definatley be going back to them. :) thank you guys!

Mike at G&M was a great help when my wife was passing through Hollister and her car broke down. He was honest. He communicated well. He made our break-down as high of a priority as he possibly could in his busy day. His prices were definitely fair. I'm really grateful for the guys at G&M and would highly recommend them!

My last smog check (2009) was ...

My last smog check (2009) was done here and went very smoothly and professionally. My 1991 Honda passed the check with flying colors. I have recently moved about 80 miles away from G & M. I am going to travel the 80 miles to have it smog checked again. I highly recommend them. Steve

I have taken my truck and car to G&M and find them to be honest, reputable and affordable. They always seem to have the time to diagnose the problem and do the job quickly and right the first time. If they can't fix it, they don't mess around and will give you friendly advice about where to get your repairs done. I have tried other auto repair shops in Hollister and have found G&M to be the best.
