Actually not a customer . I pulled into parking next door and had a 8 foot trailer hooked up. There was no way to turn so i had to jump the curb. The manager at kwik kar pointed a nozzle from a one gallon sprayer at me in my face . I told him that pepper spray will burn much more than pestacides. I damaged nothing i explained my situation to a deaf ear. Yet he wanted to point nozzle at me again . I produced mace to show it could get ugly .

Horrible service. They made a mistake on my car and couldn't even apologize. I had to sit outside and wait for a tow service and pay for it myself, because of Kwik Kars error. I'm never coming back here again, and wouldn't recommend you do either.

I went in to get my state inspection for my vehicle. I was in and out in about 25 minutes. Pretty fast, thorough and painless. The lobby area isn't a design masterpiece. Just an ordinary spot to sit, read some magazines and get some coffee. My inspection cost $25.50 which is the standard rate in Texas I'm assuming. The auto technician was professional and respectful.

I agree with other Yelpers that these guys are out to get extra money from you.
I went for an inspection. There was one TINY crack on each of my wiper blades - so tiny that it did not stop them from working properly, as I'd been using them fine.
Texas State DOES say that an inspection facility can fail you for a crack in your wiper blade. I found the following at TX Dept of Public Safety website: "The windshield is NOT an item of inspection. However, the windshield wipers are. Be sure that the crack does not cause the wipers to tear and that the crack has not caused the windshield to become concave or convex so the wipers loose contact with the windshield."
So, I can't fault this shop for failing me for my wiper blades.
What I can fault them for is the upcharge on something as basic as windshield wiper blades!
When I asked if they could replace my blades, they said, "Yes, replacements cost about $45.00 with tax." WTF?!!! I drive a Honda Fit.....why in the world do I need $45 wiper blades on top of the $25 inspection fee.
I asked if they had $20 a pair blades (the inexpensive ones that work just as well and last as long). Then I was told, "We can give you a cheaper pair for about $33 with installation."
I googled on my phone and let them know that Auto Zone (about 1/2 mi from this shop) has blades for $20/pair.
Needless to say, I went to Auto Zone and got blades for $21.67 with tax.
I don't like it when a shop needlessly charges you extra for things :-/
I will not be back.

Came in for an inspection sticker and oil change and so far it's been a very easy and painless experience. They wrote my vehicle and as soon as I stepped out of the car and immediately started working on it it was about two other cars also we in here at the same time so they accommodated me very quickly. The tech explain the prices and anything else that I needed to know before you start the service on the vehicle time left going into the lobby with a full understanding of what was to be done and what I was going to be paying for.
So far I'm very impressed like I said and if I'm in need of getting the services done again and I'm off lemmon and I will definitely come back here.

Horrible customer service. I usually go to Kwik Kar to get my oil changed, and have worked with Randy, the Manager, on multiple occasions. I decided to use them to change my driver-side brake light since I have never had an issue.
They changed the driver brake light in no time and I was on my way. As I exited the parking lot I noticed that my left side turn signal light was now not working (The same side as the brake light that was changed). When I arrived my left turn signal light was working perfectly fine, the second I got into my car after they worked on it, it was not working. It seemed a little fishy to me so I call Randy (The Manager), who I have worked with before, and he tells me to bring my car back in and they will take a look. I come back and after examining my car they tell me that they did not touch my turn signal light, and that the bulb happened to burn out the very second that I drove away. I explained to them that the timing seemed odd to me and Randy immediately got defensive and spoke to me in the most belittling manor. I told Randy that I was not going to allow him to talk to me, the customer, in that tone, and that I wanted them to leave the light bulb how it was and I wanted to leave immediately. He then said in the most insulting tone "Let me get this straight... You want me to leave a broken light bulb in your car... unbelievable! Ramero! Show this woman how the lights are set up and maybe then she will understand what we're talking about."
Might I add, that Ramero was very kind and apologetic, and it was clear that he felt horrible. Whether they did or did not ruin my turn signal bulb, I understand that mistakes happen, and would've gladly paid the $8 to have them replace my turn signal light if this situation would've been handled in a professional manor. I will NEVER use Kwik Kar for any vehicle services and advise anyone who has any time of appreciation for customer service to do the same.

These guys are simply retarded. I called and asked the manager how long it would take to do the state inspection on my motorcycle, they said there is no wait and it would only take about 5 minutes. I show up 15 minutes later and the same idiot tells me it will be over an hour wait!!! Last year I ran into the same stupidity with them but because they are the closest place to get an inspection I figured I would give them another shot.
If my car had 4 flat tires and the engine was on fire I would keep driving to a different place. These guys are morons.

Never go here ever!!! They will rip you off. They will not pass your vehicle inspection until you get other parts they sell really expensive. I made the mistake of bringing my truck here and they did not pass it until I bought that part. Then I was stupid enough to bring my new car there a month after and again they didn't pass it until I bought a part. Save yourself the trouble and go to another vehicle inspection station. I will never go here again.

DON'T GO HERE!!! They will rip you apart. They specialize in sending you back emptying your wallet. If you go there this is what will happen, you will wait in their lobby, after 10 mins one of them will walk to you and call you outside by saying " I wanted to show you something". I heard this four times to four people while i was waiting. Then they will tell you a bunch of bullshit to get all your money. Zero customer service, zero service for your car. I will never go back.

I have an 8 year old E350 Mercedes that needed a door lock repair. Kwik Kar on Lemmon Ave has been recommended by several of my neighbors, so I decided to give them a try.
I stopped by on a Saturday morning and was warmly greeted. I told the tech that I needed an estimate on a repair. I was fairly certain the door lock actuator had to be replaced. About 5 minutes later, I am presented with quote - no hassle with very quick service. Randy, the owner, provided me with the final estimate and answered my questions. He also mentioned a diagnostic fee should I wish to make sure the part in question was needed for the repair.
I left happily, but in sheer shock, that I was provided with a written estimate because I had run into issues at other repair shops. The dealership, as well as one other independent euro repair shop, pretty much refused to provide me with an estimate without paying an unreasonable diagnostic fee (close to $200 clams) since they needed to look at the problem. Neither shop acted as if they wanted my business and had no interest in providing me with a quote even though I had done my homework and was fairly confident of the issue.
So... I returned home and sat on the estimate for a day still amazed it was so easy to get an estimate. I called on Mon to schedule the repair and Randy was very accommodating with a Wed appt. I dropped the car off and was told to expect it complete by the end of day. Jeff, the repair tech, called me to explain that the car may not be ready, but that he was doing his best to finish before closing. I told him not to worry about it and that I would pick it up the next day. Jeff promised the car would be ready the next day by lunchtime. I picked up the car with the repair complete. I am confident, based upon this great first experience, that if I had told Jeff I needed the car back before close of business that he would have completed the repair on time.
I did decide to have the diagnosis done just to make sure my suspicions were correct before authorizing the estimate. I felt comfortable as the cost was reasonable.
I have been in Dallas for 10 years and I am confident I have found the place for all my future car needs. I highly recommend you look past the age of the location and give Kwik Kar a try. I am extremely happy with the service, repair and price from beginning to end. I will be back when I have another issue. They have earned my trust and business.
Car repairs suck and I am not looking forward to the next time, but I do know that I will be a repeat customer and feel confident that Randy and his team will take care of me and my car. I was in a hurry when I picked up the car, so I never had a chance to thank Jeff or Randy in person so this review is my way of saying " Thanks guys". Please patronize this business. I do not think you will be disappointed!

Quick, clean, and simple. Took my car here for a state inspection. Waited only 15 minutes in a nice waiting room. Super friendly staff. Run by people who are older and know what they're doing, not a bunch of kids like many other places around here. They found a nail in my tire and took care of it in 1 minute. And, they won't rip you off!

Good quality work, bad customer service. I was not told a diagnostic test would cost anything when I talked to them on the phone. Even though I paid $90 an hour for labor (plus the cost for the parts), I was charged $40 for the diagnostic. While checking out I asked for the diagnostic to be removed and the guy said they "don't work for free." I dont think $90 an hour is anywhere close to working "for free". Don't go here unless you have no other options.

Beware this place!!!'Had a coolant leak and another oil leak as well as a window that didn't operate properly. Was assured they could take care of everything. After several days, my car was ready and bill was over $2300. After 6 weeks started having same leaks again and window wasn't working again. Went back and there was no warranty on anything previously done. They said all new issues and would be almost as much again to fix it all. Took it to a reputable shop and they fixed it all properly and more for less.

I needed an oil change about 1K miles ago...and then I drove from Jacksonville, FL to Dallas, TX, so I really needed an oil change. I tried one other place in Dallas prior to stopping here and was appalled at the price but decided that this was going to be the last stop no matter the price based on need and not having a ton of time.
I pulled up and was not greeted. I was blocking traffic and someone couldn't get their vehicle out because of my location so I attempted to drive around the building just to get out. It was here someone finally greeted me. I am truly disgusted at the price of $42 for an oil change, they are baking on their convenience factor because even a dealership if cheaper than this.
I am sure the oil change is just fine, just overpriced. They didn't try selling me anything else except for a tire rotation (which I know I needed and they probably did their math on how overdue I was for the oil change) for $20. I thought $20 was reasonably priced for a tire rotation but declined due to already giving them enough of my money for the day.
Overall the experience was subpar but highly based on getting a good deal, I feel a little robbed right now. On the up side they were quick, and the fact that my tire light is no longer on verifies that they actually put air in the tires. Unless I can't find a Honda dealership in the next four months I don't plan on returning and shocked that I read that they were reasonably priced in a review.

Wow, something has changed here since the last time I came back in 2011 for an inspection. It was all fine then.
Today, I went in for a simple oil change... and they make a dramatic sales ploy and try to get me to buy all this random crap I know I don't need. Yeesh.
I drop my car off and go to the waiting room.
5 minutes later, a mechanic comes in and asks me to come out. I come out to my car and he's taken my cabin air filter and VA220 air filter out and placed on top of my engine and then has 3 sheets of paper with a bunch of random fluid change suggestions ranging from $20-$150. I think the total was near a grand... They were all recommendations yet he made it seem like it was do or die.
The air filters were somewhat black with some debris on them but nothing too horrible. So basically he makes it all seem like a HUGE ordeal. How my air filters are filthy and need exchanging. $50 for Cabin Air Filter and $25 for VA220 Air Filter.
Then goes on and on about how I need to change out all my fluids, brake, transmission, etc etc etc... totalling nearly $1,000... when I know for a fact my fluids are fine.
I was like 'Wtf? I came in here for an oil change and you take shi* out of my car and give me all these random suggestions and quotes? What is this?'
He got quiet and we went about my oil change. Is this how places are doing oil changes nowadays? My God... it was quite the sales ploy/technique having the hood open, filters laid out everywhere looking dirty, mechanic with a packet of papers and dollar signs. Such a dramatic scene for what was supposed to be just a simple oil change.
If you go here for an oil change, don't fall for the sales ploys. It's like their scumbag way of selling you add-ons you don't need.
Won't be coming back here again. There's plenty of places that will change my oil for me without taking things out of my car and making a scene.

There are about a bagillion places to get your oil changed in and around this city. Kind of overwhelming if you ask me. Anyoils, driving down Lemmon I realized I was WAY past due on my oil change and low and behold I needed my inspection done as well. Oy.
So I drive past Kwik Kar and pull right in. A guy came over and I told him exactly what I was there for. He said he needed about 30 minutes and I'd be good to go.
I go inside the little waiting room and I'm not kidding, there are maybe 500 magazines in there. So I grabbed an O magazine and read on. Chairs aren't the most comfy, but they'll do. About 15 minutes later this worker came in and asked me to follow him out to my car where he proceeds to tell me ALL the work I should have done to my car. I really appreciate that they were looking at everything, but I really just came in for oil and inspection. I tell him this and he goes "ok well then just take this sheet and get the work done when you can." Sweet dude. Thanks.
When my car was finished, not only did I get a new sticker and no more anxiety about getting my oil change but I got a FREE car wash to the place next door. WOOHOO!!!! Nice guys, good place and honest. Word.

Worst Experience ever for a simple State Inspection! After telling the technician exactly where to place my sticker, she over laps it over my defrosters on my windshield. Not only was she covering up part of the sticker by doing so but it was a sight for sore eyes. The placement is very important as it's permanently in your view for a year. It should be properly placed by a professional and not half assed ruining your windshield. She didn't even take the time to remove the sticky resido from the previous years sticker. Unprofessional!! Goo be Gone, cost a couple bucks, invest in it! I should have read the reviews first. I would have never gone. When I tried to talk to the manager about replacing the sticker,he said I would have to buy a new one. Excuse me? Your employee made the error it should come out of their pocket. In the end I went to my regular no fail place close to my house and they kindly replaced the sticker no questions asked. I will never go to Kwik Kar on Lemmon or any of their other locations again! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR SUCH A SIMPLE TASK!

I took my Mom's Mustang Convertible to Kwik Kar in July 2013 for AC repairs. They put the wrong part in the car so the automatic convertible top no longer worked when I picked it up. The car was also covered in grease. It cost me $60 to have cleaned.
When I called to explain the issue, I was asked to wait until mid-September to return the car for proper repairs. I returned it in mid-Sept and when I picked it up on Sept 25, 2013, the AC no longer worked again, but the top did. I immediately turned around and took the car back.
I called 10 days later, on Oct 4, to get an update and Randy Krupala (Manager) informed me that it had not been touched because he had to work on cars for "paying customers". I explained that we had already paid him $1200 and we needed our car back ASAP. He said, "SORRY" so I said I would let my parents know what was going on.
He has worked on this car for three months and it is not repaired. Very poor customer service! I would advise everyone to avoid this place.

I really like this place and started by taking my car here for oil changes. After moving from Michigan, I thought it was going to be a challenge to find a place where I didn't feel I was being taken advantage of since my knowledge of vehicles SUCKS. Well, when it was finally time to take my Jeep in for a big repair, I took it to these guys and they were helpful, explained things in a way I could understand and didn't even try to take advantage of me by charging higher prices when they could.
Word of warning, you'll probably drive by it the first time you go there, the sign is almost hidden behind the pawn shop sign when driving on Lemmon from Uptown. Basically, it's across the street from the Audi dealership.

I went in one time for an oil change and felt pretty ok with them. My check engine light had been on and they said that I should bring it in for a full diagnostics. I went ahead and did that thinking that I needed to get to the bottom of this problem because it keeps coming on.
They told me that all 6 of my ignition coils and spark plugs needed to be replaced and that my motor mounts were worn out and needing to be replaced. Now my car has had some minor issues but nothing terribly drastic.
They quoted me for this over 900$'s. I do not have that money right now and so I asked to just pay for the diagnostics, get the print outs and take my car. He told me that he did not have print outs from the diagnostics, I asked for details of what they did for my car with the diagnostics and he said that he could give me copies of the paper that he wrote on because the tech just wrote on a paper notes. After talking to a couple of guys at work, I was not feeling good about getting just hand written notes on paper. So I called back and said that I did not feel comfortable paying a full price for a full diagnostics and just getting hand written notes... Randy interrupted me and said not to tell him how to run his business and that if I did not want to be screwed over by car shops then I need to build a relationship with the owners to have them take care of me well. I explained that he is not proving that that is possible because of his poor customer service.
Long story short. I had a mechanic co-worker look at my car when it was brought back to work and my motor mounts were fine, the engine is not moving, and if all my ignition coils needed to be replaced then my car would not be running.
The owner was a jerk and completely inconsiderate and just looking for an ignorant person to screw over for a thousand bucks. Do not go to them!! They don't deserve good business.

I've had some bad luck with oil and inspection stations before. I know it sounds cliche, but many of them in the past have taken advantage of my little car knowledge and screwed me because I'm female. Thankfully though, Yelp lead me in the right direction with all of the awesome reviews for Kwik Kar locations.
My oil change was about a month overdue and my inspection...well, let's just say it was expired LONG ago. I didn't have very much time and needed to get it done quickly, efficiently and correctly.
I pulled in and got out, not know the procedure. Someone came out of the garage immediately to greet me, I handed over my insurance and was assured it would be ready shortly.
The waiting room was clean as an oil station waiting room could be; the bathroom looked scary and the coffee a little burned, but whatevs. I don't come to Kwik Kar to lounge in comfort.
A short 20 minutes later, my car was ready to go with new oil and a new sticker. The guy was nice and honest enough to tell me that I probably needed to change my air filter next time around (Whoa, what? You aren't trying to upsell me?) -- I was shocked.
Prices were decent, my interior didn't have dirty smudges anywhere in it and I walked away feeling good about the whole experience.

Worst customer service ever!!! Went in and had an oil change and fuel system cleaning performed. I made sure to watch both services being performed. When the fuel system cleaning was being performed, I questioned the technician regarding his choice of vacuum lines because it appeared to only feed one cylinder and suggested he use the one that was just past the throttle body. He insisted he was correct. After the service finished, I went home and did a little research online and found that I was right and the technician should have connected to the vacuum bung that I suggested. As a result only one of my cylinders was cleaned. When I brought this to the attention of the owner/manager Randy via the phone, he told me to bring it in and he would take care of it. When I got there he "apologized" and explained that he would have to charge me again for the service that his technician performed incorrectly, and tried to up-sell me on an even more expensive service. I even showed Randy technical documentation that his technician was in the wrong, but he was unsympathetic and wouldn't fix the wrong doing because as he put it, "I'm not coming out of pocket for something my technician did wrong!". I asked him if he thought that was good customer service, and he replied, "I don't care about customer service, I'm here to make money!" As you can imagine I was very taken back by this. After asking him if that was his final answer, he stood firm and said "Yes". I can guarantee you that I will never take any of my other cars to this customer service hack or his band of merry hack technicians. I strongly urge you to not take your vehicle here either. BTW...one of his technicians wrecked a young girls Blue VM Beatle while my service was being performed. Consider yourselves warned.

This review is not for the Lemmon Ave location, but for the Kwik Kar franchise in general. These shops hire mechanics for cheap, and they come and go so you never know who is going to work on your car. When I got to *any* of the Kwik Kar locations, I *specifically* say to *only* change the oil and oil filter - I'll do the rest. But *no*, they end up pulling screws to check things I *specifially* asked them not to check, and inevitably stuff does not get reinstalled properly (loose or even missing screws). In fact, on my 2002 CR-V, the Coppell, TX location broke the air intake and tried to super-glue it back together. Of course after a couple weeks of constant check-engine warnings, Autozone figured it out. When I went back to the Coppell, TX location the owner took offense and proclaimed his techs are the best in the business. Of course this is nonsense, and only goes to prove that these franchise owners are there to make money (and possibly move on by selling to the next franchise sucker). So just a warning...if you want to risk having someone who really doesn't care work on your car and you want to save a few minutes and a few bucks, go to Kwik Kar...but, if you want it done right, even if it costs a few dollars more and takes a little longer, go to your dealer.

I went here after reading the Yelp reviews and figured it would be an OK place to take my car in for an inspection...boy was I wrong. I was in and out fairly quickly. The owner/manager called me over and told me it was $39.75 for the inspection. At this point I handed him my card and figured that i had passed but NO I did not. He informed me that my back drivers side tail light lens needed to be replaced and that I had 15 days to fix it and come back with no extra charge. He called me later in the day to give me quotes on how much it would cost $240 for the mid end and $182 for the cheapest lens. I DON'T THINK SO. I have had 2 prior inspections with my light in the exact same condition with no problems. When I told him this, he seemed unsure of what to say and blurted out that they probably missed it in the 2 prior inspections. I took it to a different place (DEKRA Inspections only) and passed with flying colors. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE FOR STATE INSPECTIONS BECAUSE THEY WILL FIND SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT JUST TO GET YOUR MONEY. Cheating Snakes I tell ya! You can keep my $40.

So impressed with this shop. Saved $150 on a broken door handle vs what I was quoted by a dealer ship. They opened up my door and found that a cable had just become disconnected, reconnected it and only charged me for the diagnosis ( which was the lowest diagnosis charge I found calling around town). They even gave me a quote on my broken window regulator and invited me to shop around and let them know how their pricing compared. I will definitely be back.

Randy the owner and his mechanics are not honest! Just short of felony, if felony. I instructed them to install very specific high grade brakes and was given a price that was 4x higher than the discount parts as I expected. After work was completed I inspected parts and they were the cheapest brakes Auto Zone sold when the owner, manager, and mechanic ALL assured me they would get my high end brake parts from Oreilly's Auto Parts. I was there when the parts man delivered brake parts and I asked if they were the specific high end parts I requested and the mechanic assured me they were as he received the parts from the parts man. What a dishonest rip off. I was paying top dollar, 4x basic brake parts price and that was not enough revenue for Randy the owner who claims to be a CPA in his former life! Randy took my 4x higher payment and installed the lowest quality brakes you can buy as side by side compared them to the lowest priced Auto Zone brakes. I had Randy replace the cheep brake parts with the brand and quality I paid for, when I drove away my vehicle hopped and they told me that was normal until the possi-traction needed to be driven into sync. The next day my brake stuck frozen and the wheel would not turn. After extensive manipulation I got the vehicle t another shop and they pulled the wheels and found the brakes were not installed properly and not adjuster and binded!! I had to have the brakes reinstalled and adjusted. I want the safety of being able to stop even if Randy does not care. I did not go back to Lemmon Avenue, Dallas Kwik Kar and owner Randy Krupaia!! My life and my family are is too valuable to me. I consider their act to be fraud if not felony....

I stopped in because it was convenient to a location i was at on a particular day. It was my biggest mistake of the week. I would rate it a zero if at all possible. Avoid at all costs, horrible experience. Looking for any way to make a buck, staff seemed nice enough, manager is a complete a..h... Customer service nightmare, wretched communication skills. Went in for an inspection failed for evap codes and a bad horn which i used several times as i was pulling out of the parking lot as it worked for me.You do have to press hard as it is a 16 year old work truck, but I do maintain it. Kwik Kar said they could fix everything. I opted to take it to my mechanic that i am loyal too, whom doesn't do state inspections but addressed the evap issue and assured me of a passing score, said my horn worked for him. He has done honest work on my truck a few times. I then went back to get reinspected, and had my receipt 2 days later they said i needed to go home 25 min away and get my inspection paperwork for them. This was the beginning of a wasted day. So reciept is not good enough I asked? No. O.K returned 1 1/2- 2 hrs later, checked the horn 3 times on the way over, with said paperwork and then was told they needed the receipt from my mechanic where I had the work done. I was like what? Why? and Why didn't you tell me that earlier. As I file most all receipts straightaway and live 25 min away. His response was if you let us do the work you would not have these problems. Does your horn work he says? pressed it and sounded? That is not an operable horn I would fail you anyway he said. Judging by other reviews it looks like I would have a lot more. Thank god I am only eating $25 I cannot even look at him to go through a free re inspection. I am very pacifist but this guy made me almost go postal. Breathe deep and move on that is the lesson of the day. Do yourself a favor go anywhere else.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. They quoted me $40 for oil change and inspection. When I went to check out they charged me $92.11. It was not a misunderstanding on my part because they distinctly said the total would be $48. Needless to say, I won't be going back there. They didn't even try to fix their mistake or show good customer service.

The absolute WORST customer service experience I've ever had. The owner Randy was rude and unprofessional, to say the least. He refused to answer simple questions about the service that was performed on my vehicle. After asking to speak to a manager, he threw a business card on the counter, and stated that they didn't need my business.
