Art and his team are real pros. I have a 1972 MG Midget and they have secured hard-to-find parts and done excellent work (including on the transmission) for very reasonable prices. There are also always beautiful cars in the shop being restored that you can ogle. If you have an old British car, this is THE place to take it in Dallas.

I have been taking my 1970 MGB to these guys for about 26 years. If you have an
MG that needs some work this is the place. They are a pleasure to work with.

I highly recommend taking your car to Art and Steve to work on!! Everytime I have had an issue I can always trust that I will get the right answer and it will be fixed the first time without all the run arounds and at a great price unlike some of the dealership experiences I've had. Their customer service is top notch and I bet you couldn't find anything that compares to it anywhere else!! Thanks for helping me out yall and I know I'm always in good hands when it comes to keeping my cars on the road for years to come. My wife and I own an 85 Jaguar XJS and the work they put into this car is unbelievable, we couldn't have imagined it would look this good and run this awesome. Thanks again Art and Steve, your shop is definately #1 in my book and should be in others as well.

a friend of mine from Australia bought a camper van in Florida to travel through the US and Canada. On the way he broke down with it in Dallas, and having had a horrible experience in another shop on the way he was very wary about going to a random shop again for his brakes. A friend and I referred him to Art and Steve at Automotive Specialties, and told him they would for sure take care of him, know what they are doing, and charge very reasonably for work and parts (and explain what they do and why, especially since he is from abroad).
Here is what he (James Long from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia) had to say to me later, when he was back home: "They were magnificent (especially after Tullulah, Lousiana where the 'repairer' destroyed a serviceable $750 fuel pump when the problem was a fuse and did not want to look at why the brake warning light was coming on!)"
I think it speaks for itself, and you can verify this with both James and the shop of course.
Myself I had only a minor issue, when I was up from Sugarland in Dallas once. I drove a Porsch 911 at the time, and it made funny noises, so I stopped by. Steve test-drove my car and took his time to explain to me that there was nothing 'wrong' with it, probably just a dried-up leaf in one of the vents, which "hammers" against the outlet at higher speed. He was all smiles and did not even charge me for it. Later it turned out that it was axactly that, a leaf with a little branch, when I took the car in for service and they dug around a little while it was in the shop. Some other shop could have easily turned this leaf into a couple hundred bucks worth of repairs.
