I have a lot problems with mechanics from NWI to the south suburbs. I hate car mechanics! Now having said that I always feel really comfortable going to Kallemeyn to have my car checked out. I've been there with two cars now, I can't remember all the work I've had done on my car, but I know they've done tire changes and break pads.
Why do I trust Kallemeyn? Just the other day I took my -new to me- car in because I thought the muffler went out. It turns out I had a hole in the pipe and my exhaust system is one big solid system. He said they didn't have the ability to just fix the problem area and all they could do is replace the entire thing, which would cost me $2600. Instead of telling me that's all I could do, he suggested a place that had the ability to do customer exhaust work. What auto place turns down work? I've never experience that in my life. I usually get told that's all that can be done and they try to charge me for it.
On top of the honesty I actually received a thank you letter in the mail after getting work done. Again, I have never experienced that from an auto shop in my life. I've gotten come back coupons in the mail but I have never had an actual letter. And it's not a one time thing. I started going here because my boyfriend's parents suggested them after I moved out here and had car problems. They've always gone there when they needed work and they still receive thank you letters in the mail a few days after repair.

This is not a place to work at all they lie to you're face telling you how much you're going to make don't believe them. They told me I was going to make 16$ a hour and then tells me you're starting at 11$ no thanks but no. I have about 6 years doing professional Auto body work making 16$. If they lie to there Employees there going to lie to there customers which is not right. Therefore you're better off not going to this place. Hopefully I saved you're time, unfortunately my time was wasted by them. This place is so unprofessional. Good Luck!

These guys ROCK! I needed a little back end work done to my car (my fault - ugh). I was paying for it myself, so my husband (who is a giant Kallemeyn fan) took it to three places for an estimate. Kallemeyn's estimate was the lowest (not a ton but it was lower) but as usual, their work is simply top-notch! I'm with my husband - no point in going anywhere else. The team is friendly, polite and my car was spotless when I picked it up. Highly recommended. (And yes, you may wait to get in if they are busy, which they are, but it is worth the wait!)

Well after a minor collision with a re-tread tire on the way into work, I was not to happy. The collision added a dent and some scratches to my front bumper. These guys did a fantastic job fixing it up for a fair price. It looks so good, I felt like I was driving a new car again. I would recommend them to anyone.

Simply horrible. Any self-respecting body shop, that can't not only get a bumper repainted perfectly on a brand new car, but make the situation worse is a lost cause in my book. Maybe my expectations were too high for Kallemeyn, and if so they should have stated so from the get go. Dropping off the vehicle, I specifically stated what needed to be fixed. The estimator didn't take any notes, and that should have a been a signal for me to just leave. I didn't, and the nightmare began... Picking up the vehicle 2 days later: - the bumper was repainted, but had multiple blemishes; overall, virtually just as bad, as when the car was dropped off - driver side rear quarter panel was scratched during repair, most likely during bumper removal; chipped paint was not repaired - rear wheel well guards removed to disassemble the bumper were reapplied so poorly, their misalignment was visible from distance - flap guards were not re-installed correctly, and were loose - bumper guard was reapplied so poorly, it was already peeling End result: The defects were fixed, but it took 2 additional days. No apology from the owner, and no effort to make it right. Maybe I'm unrealistic, but paying a premium price, I expect perfection. If you're detail oriented, I would not recommend Kallemeyn.

Unfortunately, I have had quite a few visits to Kallemeyn over the years, and they consistently provide high-quality and complete auto repair. I have also compared quotes, and Kallemeyn usually comes in below other shops.
