My 1995 Mercedes developed a heavy ticking sound that would not go away - so, I used it as an opportunity to check out Mick Bowes and his shop. Mick was responsive and provided me with a "worst-case" estimate but (and this is unusual for a shop) kept checking to see if there were any alternatives. The original diagnosis was sticking lifters - these have to be replaced as a set and the job was going to cost 12-1500 to complete (ouch!). Mick continued his investigation and determined that the car had carbon build-up in the oil (using regular instead of premium) that was clogging the ports on the lifters. After running an oil additive through the engine, the ticking went away. In addition, Mick cleared out the EGR bypass tube (instead of replacing it). All in all, I am very happy with the service and the pricing for the shop.

After not getting a call back from a major Jaguar Dealer in the metro area about an appointment I tried to make for a used late model Jaguar I just purchased , I contacted Bowes European to see if I could get in to have the oil and filter changed since I could not tell if an oil change was ever done to the vehicle. I spoke with Jeff about the required oil specifications and filter since it requires special oil. Jeff was extremely helpful and got the parts in for the service to be performed the next day. In the past, I would normally do the oil change myself, but these newer vehicles don't have dip sticks and in some cases, even drain plugs, so I decided to have it done by a professional. Jeff did not let me down and he was extremely helpful about the functions and specifications on the car as well as getting the service done in an efficient manner. Thanks Jeff, I will be back as needed.

I had a good mechanic but he closed shop and moved. Mick was recommended by a friend. He has worked on my car, as well as my daughter's car. I have found someone I would recommend to anyone. Mick has amazed me on how quick and how thoroughly his work is done. When I leave my car, Mick calls and asks the problem if there is a breakdown when he is not open. He calls with results and the costs which I have no problem with. Mick does his work as inexpensively as possible.. I would recommend Mick to anyone

I've been a Bowes satisfied customer for five years, and there is no other service shop I would take my 2000 Jaguar convertible. In fact, I refer to its owner as "Mick Jaguar," because i consider him a rock star when it comes to maintaining my car. Mick's work is thorough, fast and honest. His prices are very reasonable and he always offers to give me the old part that was replaced. But after 5 years I trust Mick implicitly, and allow no other mechanic to pop the hood on my Jag. With Mick I know the job will be done correctly to specifications, and the parts he uses will be spot on. At 12 years old, with 111,000 miles, my old Jag wouldn't start up for me one day last week. Frustrated, I phoned Mick and gave him the symptoms over the phone. Typically, Mick told me that he couldn't be sure until he looked at the car, but it sounded like a busted fuel pump. I had the car towed to Mick's place and, within a few minutes Mick called to confirm that the fuel pump was the problem. After I gave him the go ahead, Mick had the car ready the next day, at a very reasonable price. With Mick Jaguar I GET satisfaction. He's the best!

My husband used to do almost all of the work on our cars, but when his work schedule became very demanding we needed to find someone else to work on our cars. Mick is great... my husband has checked over everything he has done to our cars and he feels that Mick's work is quality work. He does not cut corners and he gives you prices up front when you ask for them. We trust him, and this is the first mechanic my husband has ever trusted, so that is a pretty big deal. For me one of the best things about Mick and his shop is the fact that I feel totally comfortable going in to him when I have a problem... he doesn't treat me like I'm a clueless woman. In the past I have sometimes felt uncomfortable or intimidated when dealing with other mechanics, but I have never felt that way at Bowes European and Imports Services.
