Good honest service
I have had tune ups, small problems fixed, oil changes, etc all done at this service center. They are very honest, if a little pricier than other places. HOwever you know that they are trustworthy and will not act as though your engine is…

Fantastic shop, honest guys
Met Jim the other day on the recommendation of friends....Even though I'm not from Winchester, (and when you are from out of town you always feel like a mechanic is going to "take advantage" of you with your auto repairs) I felt like these…

Honest Mechanics/ they take pride in doing Quality Work
We've taken all of our vehicles to Jim and Gary for over ten years. They have even turned down repair jobs that were falsely recommended by other big box operations. These guys care about doing honest work. If I could give them more than…

Good local mechanic, they are honest and do not charge you for something that isn’t there. You can trust these guys! Their prices might not be rock bottom, but you know that they will not pretend you need something that you don’t. They…

These guys are fantastic!!! Honest people- they'll charge a fair price. And excellent work. I've got a pretty beat up car and they had my brake lines perfectly replaced in 3 hours. And they've got the most awesome dog that hangs out in the shop. Any place with a dog is good in my book. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

This place was awesome! I only stopped in for an oil change, but they were able to do it with no notice and have me in and out in fifteen minutes flat, for a fair price. Super friendly people -- they have the coolest dog hanging out at the shop too!

If you are looking for an EXCELLENT value and return on your dollar it is the ONLY place in Winchester to go!! Jims service center is worth your time to visit when your car is in need. They do it all, oil changes, tune up, tires, and everything in between. Bumper to bumper service!! Jims will tell it to you staight, and get it right the FIRST time. I have been going to over a decade and even with all the gimmicks of other repair shops in Winchester, Jims is the BEST deal. You get what you pay for in life and nothing is free and Jims is the real deal. If you want your car or truck fixed right, go to Jims. You will not be disappointed!! :)

Jim's Service Center is the only place you need to keep your vehicle on the road and running smooth. My old Chevy truck is always needing something and Jim and Gary always get the job done right. They recently had to replace the rear axle seals and rear brake cylinders and pads, not a job for your average weekend mechanic. They got right on the job when they opened, by 8:30 I had a call explaining what needed to be done...and at 1:30 the call came that the job was done. Fast, friendly and reasonably priced...Jim's Service Center is what all auto repair shops should be.

I moved to the Winchester area in 2000, and I stumbled on Jim's Service Center when I was looking for a competing price for what I had been told by a national chain auto-repair shop would be a very involved, expensive repair. I was amazed when Jim came back and said, no, the major repair was not required. All he did was make a couple of minor adjustments, and replaced a sensor, and suddenly the major "problem" miraculously disappeared. I have been taking my cars exclusively to Jim and Gary ever since. Keep in mind this is a very small, mom-and-pop style operation; Jim is both the owner and the chief mechanic. He and Gary are country boys, through and through, and friendly as the day is long. And while some folks might misinterpret Jim and Gary's laid-back demeanor as lack of caring (or worse), I have always found them to be helpful, knowledgeable, and -- this is key, for a mechanic -- HONEST. You can't ask for more than that.

I've been taking our car and truck to Jim's for at least 10 years. Jim and Gary are the most HONEST mechanics I have ever met. They won't do a repair that someone else has recommended if it's not needed. They have also prevented problems by bringing my attention to maintenance that really is needed. If I needed someone to honestly appraise a used car before buying it, I'd definitely want them to check it over for us. Can't recommend them enough.

I went in for an oil change "special" and the owner of the shop was too busy trying to make a tire sale to even talk to me. they pulled my car into the garage, put it up on the lift, and drained my oil, all BEFORE asking me what kind of oil I use. Well, i happen to ONLY use synthetic and you are not supposed to switch back to conventional oil after going to synthetic. Once the guy was done talking to the other people, he said he could go to the NAPA parts store and get the synthetic oil, but that the oil change would then go from $30 to $60. I was not prepared to pay that much. he was super rude to me, condescending, and I ended up paying him for the conventional oil change just to avoid conflict. My car smoked and smelled funny for a few days until I finally went to Autozone and paid $25 for synthetic oil and filter and took it to OMPS to get the oil changed AGAIN. That change cost $37 total and I got the synthetic oil and a high grade filter. Anyway, thats my story.
