This place is bullshit. They repaired only parts of my clutch so I took it back and they took it apart without my say so and wont let me have my car back without $375 for something I didnt ask for. They hung up on me and wont answer when I call. Beyond unprofessional.

This cost 300 dollars ... My check engine light came on before I even got home. And my clutch still slips. And now they want to charge me another 100.00 dollars to diagnose the car again. I've never seen a mechanic charge you for each diagnosis and not fix car.. my check engine light still on.. Thanks for nothing.....

This is probably my second review on anything ever. I was compelled to write the first after my first visit to Clutch Doctors. Like last time, I have to give these guys the recognition they deserve. Came in after realizing a few of my brake lights weren't working. They got me in within a couple hours of calling. After about 15 minutes of using their free wifi, they came out to tell me they already replaced all the bulbs. I won't say how much they charged, but I had an idea of a "cheap" price I was hoping to pay, and they came out and told me about 85% less than that. I felt wrong paying what they charged. Their response was they wouldn't feel right charging more. I am generally very inquisitive and maybe skeptical of businesses and their charging practices, especially in automotive. What I absolutely value above all else about this place is the peace of mind that they will do the right work, and charge the fair price. Just too rare these days. Thank you guys. You make me think of other tune-up things my car can use so I can bring you more business. As I stated in my last review, my only hope is that you guys don't change. Wife and I are big fans.

I was experiencing severe car trouble that led to needing a tow to the Clutch & Break Doctors. My husband had previously looked up their ratings and let me know that they had very positive reviews which is why I chose to have my car towed to the Beaverton location. Kevin was nice and helpful, and he was able to get my car in that same day for repairs. Even though the car was not towed to the garage until 11am, they had the repairs finished by 5pm that same day which was wonderful. They told us what needed to be fixed and did not add on a bunch of items, only what was necessary. We decided that they will be the garage we take our cars to for regular oil changes and inspections from now on. We could not be more pleased with their friendly and efficient service.

Kevin was the best! His customer service & distinctiveness was perfect. He explained to me all that needed to be done & how even some of it I could still wait on. He could tell I wasn't in the best place to spend over 400. Not once did he sell me. I couldn't be happier! I'm sure the fixing of my car will be just as great as the service, which went like this..
For the last couple days, I've had bad grinding on my brakes. Terrible noise, making me stress to the sky. So, I had to wait for my payday (today.) I did my yelp search & found these guys (thank goodness!) I called them while I was on my break at work, around 10:30am. I spoke to Kevin & he said I can come in on my lunch around 1:30pm. I was so happy they could fit me in such short notice & that I wouldn't have to leave my car at work. Not only that, but I was so late leaving for my lunch since I work at a bank & we were so busy, that when I called, he said no problem & they would still fit me in! Wow. Thank you! I arrive, he took my keys & explained to me how I would have time to wait for the diagnosis & got me outta there before my lunch was over! Now I am waiting patiently to pick my car up by 5 the latest he said. Yay!
I will be going back for my rear brakes & any other brake dues needed. I suggest you to do the same. Thanks again Kevin! :)

I went in for a brake pad replacement for both front and rear. Their estimate was better than the Nissan dealer and other repair shops around the area.I found this place through Yelp and got a quote over the phone and setup an appointment the very next day morning. They agreed to use the OEM brake pads for $20 extra/axle which was good. They did a pretty good job on replacing the brake pads and resurfacing the rotors. There is no more squeaky noise and they also got the job done quicker in about 2 hours. The Wifi in the waiting area is pretty fast for working from there. They also honored the Yelp deal which saved me another $25. Would definitely recommend this place for brake service.
Another thing was my dealer said that brake fluid flush was also needed but these guys checked it out and said there is more life in it and didnt try to rip off for such unwanted things.

The reviews here for the Clutch and Brake Doctors are no hype. The brakes on our 2000 Grand Cherokee were starting to shimmy and pulse. We took it in for the free brake inspection and they found out the problems in under a half hour. The quote estimate was unbelievably reasonable, and (surprise!) the final cost was exactly what the estimate was. Wow. (We were so happy with the price we forgot to use the $10 Yelp coupon!) The brakes are now smooth as silk and we're big fans of the Doctors. Great work, guys.

I had a new brake kit installed front and back. I got a quote within a few minutes of asking for one on Yelp. The price was quite reasonable, so I went ahead and scheduled an appointment. Do NOT take your car to Clutch Butchers!!! On 8/6 I took my Mini Cooper in to them to replace my clutch. I dropped it off first thing in the morning, but by late afternoon I'd not received a call from them and so I phoned. Kevin, the manager, said it was "ready" but had a lot of "play" at the top of the clutch, more than they liked, and he thought it just needed to be driven more. He said that he thought I would just need to adjust my driving habits. I went out, paid for the work, and then drove my car around their parking lot. I thought I was going to DIE. There was no clutch action at all--my car felt like a runaway train. It was now rush hour and I had to drive across town in traffic to pick up my son. No WAY could I do that. I came back inside the shop and told Kevin that I could not drive it like that. He assured me there was NOTHING wrong with it and that I just needed to get used to it. So I asked my friend who'd given me a ride there, a guy who knows a bit about cars, to drive it. He drove it around the parking lot and then took me aside and said, "He's full of s**t." He suggested I call my regular mechanic and describe the issue. I stepped outside and did that and Maya, a technician at Pacific Motorsports, said I should NOT drive the car in that condition. I went back inside and told Kevin, "I'm leaving it here for you to fix. I will pick it up tomorrow but I need it by noon." He again said there was nothing wrong with it, and acted like I was a crazy, difficult customer for even asking him to fix it, but said he'd look at it. I phoned him the next morning reminding him I needed it by noon and said I would have to call a tow truck to take it to my mechanic if he couldn't fix it. At that point, Kevin said, "I did find that one of the lines was wet," and he said he had ordered me a new line. (It was the line from the clutch line section from the firewall to the junction before the master cylinder.) He replaced the line but nothing changed. When I went to pick up my car at noon (meeting the tow truck driver) Kevin said he was about to replace the master cylinder as that is all he could think to do, but that I needed to give him more time to try that. I told him that I had ZERO faith that Clutch Doctors could fix my car, or that any more time would help anything--besides I was out of time because I had to have my car shipped two days later. As you can see from the photo, my car had to be TOWED away from Clutch Doctors--a car that was working fine when I brought it in, and was now not even drivable. The worst part is that Kevin tried to get me to drive that death trap out in traffic--which would have endangered me, my car, my son, and all other drivers on the road.
The good folks at Pacific Motorsports found the issue: the line had not been properly bled. Here is their report: "Slave cylinder and brake reservoir are covered in wet brake fluid. Cleaned both and dried. Checked for leaks, unable to find active leak. Removed slave cylinder and pressure bled system several times. Found large air pockets in hydrolic system. Reassembled and test drove. Clutch pedal feels firm [now].
"Clutch was replaced at Clutch Doctors and now clutch won't engage until all the way at the floor. Customer says it does not feel safe. Clutch Doctors bled system and replaced soft line. Loud clattering from engine. Checked oil and found oil low 4 quarts!! Topped off and noise has gone away."
I will be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau. BBB will ask me, and I will say: Yes, I did try to resolve this with Clutch Doctors. Kevin is on vacation and the owner is unavailable (apparently) to return my message I left last week. All I asked was for them to reimburse me for the extra work my mechanic had to do to fix their issue. I used AAA for towing so they would be getting off easy: $275.10 to reimburse me for what Pacific Motorsports had to do to bring it up to drivable condition. Unnecessary charges if they had just done what they were paid $1100 to do in the first place--something they are supposed to SPECIALIZE in! NO REPLY FROM CLUTCH DOCTORS; although last week Eli said he would leave a message for the owner, I never got a call back.
Stay away from this company. They do not stand behind their work, they don't know what they are doing, and they attempt to cover up shoddy work by putting their customers in danger. They seriously need a negative or zero star rating here. They do not deserve a star.

This place is honest; they are the real deal. When I come in to have something checked, if I don't need work they will tell me. Yesterday I brought my 97 CRV in to have the brakes checked; I thought I heard something. They checked it out thoroughly, came out to the waiting room and told me my brakes are good and safe. Often a single woman is a "sitting duck" at car repair shops. NOT HERE! I mentioned my elect outlet doesn't work and they put a fuse in and told me to put my credit card away, saying "it's a small thing."
Last September I took my son's car to a repair shop in Hillsboro I always used to go to. After a very high estimate for brakes for his car I brought it over here. The job was half what "Hillsboro" was going to charge me, and here they said I didn't need everything that "Hillsobor" said I needed! Come here! They are honest and do great work! Oh, they are nice too.

Drove about 35/40 minutes from Clackamas to Beaverton to see these guys. Definitely worth it!
My initial cost of $350 for parts and labor was reduced to $116 after the guys there found out that the real problem was just a tensioner pulley and not my power steering pump like we had originally thought.
Everything was explained perfectly and everyone was professional, fast, and even better than I had expected.
I will definitely be recommending this place to anyone needing work done on their car.

This place is great. When I bought my Toyota I got oil changes there BUT every time Toyota says I need work I bring my car here first and I always save money. This process was leaps and bounds over what i normally expect from an mechanic. I messaged them on Yelp after getting a terrible quote on all new brakes and rotors from Les Schwab. Their quote (which was less than HALF of what Les Schwab quoted) was exactly what they ended up charging me. I was really stressed about having to miss work, and that was picked up on- they provided me a rental car so that we could wait and get oem parts as opposed to ones of a lesser quality. They also changed my oil for free! I have been telling all my friends about this place. It's not often that you find an honest mechanic that gives you a fair deal. Customer service is not dead! I will be back the next time I need help with my car.

I've brought my car to the Clutch Doctors twice now.
The first was for brakes which were very reasonably priced and gave me a great impression of the business. I rarely actually trust an auto shop of any kind, but this one felt okay. I'm taking away a star only because my brakes are about 3 months old now and they squeak. 4.5 stars seems more appropriate.
I brought my car in again for a new fan belt. It actually snapped and took out my power steering after they replaced it, due to a bigger issue in my car and not their fault. I brought it back immediately, right before closing. I had barely gotten in the door before Jeff ran up to me for the keys so they could get to work. I wasn't in the best mood obviously, but I really appreciate their huddle to get things fixed.
Based on my two experiences here, 4.5 stars would be best, with the only issue being the squeaky brakes (which happened at Les Schwab, too). I'll be back!

My car was in desperate need of new brakes so we booked an appointment with Clutch & Brake Doctors. It was the best decision for my car and myself. Everyone was very kind and they inspected the brakes for free and gave us a quote for exactly what we needed, nothing extra. The quote was much lower than I was expecting which was great and they had it all fixed up in less than an hour! They didn't try to sell any other repairs and we were in an out in no time at all. The waiting area is wonderful too!

These guys have always been good. Over the past 5 years we have used them several times. They have had competitive prices, and been honest with us. I've had simple things like oil changes - and more complex things like brake replacements and suspension upgrades. Kevin in the office has been helpful in scheduling and answering questions. All in all we have been satisfied with this place. We have not had anything huge or extreme done here - but I have watched them doing some of our repairs (because I am anal-retentive about these things) and they have been good thus far. We have never had any problems with any work they have done.

If you're in Beaverton and need a car worked on, check out Clutch Doctors on Canyon. Brutus ('93 GMC Safari van) was leaking oil, and his back hatch wouldn't open. First we went to Canyon Auto repair, on a friend's recommendation. Their communication was iffy. They fixed the back hatch but their idea on the oily undercarriage was to replace EVERYTHING for over $1850. Instead we went to Clutch Doctors on the recommendation of another friend. They pressure washed the bottom (no charge) and sent me home to drive around for 50 miles so they could really see where the leaks were coming from. They found the problem and fixed it. Meanwhile he developed a coolant leak. They resolved that, too. We got a 6-oil-change package, motor mount, and some little stuff done (headlight, etc) and the total bill was under $600. The guys were super friendly and even stayed late so I could pick up the van after work. Highly recommended!

It was easy to get an appt and the price was good. I didn't appreciate that i had to wait to check in when the phone rang. They should have been asked to hold. They did my front brakes/rotors and an oil change. Had the work done by lunchtime so i could pick it up on my break. I asked them to rotate my tires since they'd be taking them off for the brake job. Afterwards i noticed the rear tires need to be rotated too. Would have been nice if they had asked me if i wanted it done. So they do what you request but don't make suggestions.

When it came time to replace my clutch, I began doing some online research to see who was getting good reviews. Clutch & Brake Doctors had the largest number of reviews as well as the highest number of high reviews, so I called for a quote. Their quote was half as much as the next closest quote that I had received, so I made an appt.
I was told that it would be an all day repair, and that if I got my car in by 10am, they should be able to have it done that day. I got in around 9am, and was told that it would probably be done around 4p. Well, it was done by 2:30, and that was with also replacing my serpentine belt too.
I live all the way across town from them, but I will not hesitate to use them again when my vehicle needs work, and will recommend them to everyone I know.

Friendly, HONEST service. I took my Acura TSX in because the brakes started making a groaning noise when it was in reverse. They inspected all my brakes, didn't not try to up sell me, and told me that only my rear brakes needed to be redone, and that the front brakes still have 50% life left. Two other shops had met me with a quote to have all of the brakes done right off the bat. It took less than an hour for them to redo my rear brakes and clean up the front ones as well. It was also significantly less expensive that other quotes I had received while price shopping. Very happy with the results!!!!

I walked into o'Riley auto parts to get some radiator fluid. There's a leaking cooling hose somewhere and I just didn't want to deal with it. I'm due for an oil change anyway. So I ask, "what's the best mechanic around here?" Immediately 3 voices responded with "Clutch Doctors" I thought to myself "where did that third voice come from. Must've been a guy in the back."
I got my car fixed super quick, everyone there was courteous and professional. I wasn't surprised to see a five star rating here. So I'll just throw another five into the pile.

Once again Kevin and his crew at Beaverton Clutch Doctors did a great job on what I asked them to do on my 1999 Chevy Express van: Oil and filter change, full service check of my entire vehicle prior to a camping trip, as well as fixed my door lock switch and door panel. All was done in a professional and timely manner. I put my trust and confidence in these guys for my auto repair needs.
Thanks a bunch, Kevin!

Pulled in with my check engine light on five minutes before they were to close today. I was worried that something was terribly wrong. They immediately came out, all smiles, did a quick computer read and told me I would be fine till the next day when they could get me in. I was super low on oil, which they checked, and they added several quarts of oil, free of charge! Thanks guys!

I heard a grinding sound from my car after the winter snow. I put it off and finally decided to take it in and called Clutch and Brake Doctors based on their high Yelp ratings. I am usually hesitant to take my car to new mechanics but I am new to the area and had no choice. Brake Drs told me to come in the same day I called w/o an appt and told me they could change it within the same day. Because of my work schedule this was so convenient for me and this type of same day service is not something I am used to w/o it costing an arm and leg. I showed up and after a quick check in, the Drs diagnosed my issue w/in a short 20 minutes. They then replaced my brakes and gave me an oil change for under $300 w/in an hour or so. They did not try to sell me up on unnecessary services and try to confuse me. They were straight shooters. I was able to wait in their clean lobby w/ clean facilities and work on my laptop using their complimentary internet while watching TV. They also have a water/coffee/tea station. These details matter. I was so happy I tried to give a tip but they refused to take it. This is the least I can do to show my appreciation. This is the type of business that instills customer service from the top down. Thank you again Brake Drs. :)

Great service. Went in thinking my clutch was broken and it ended up being something else (slave cylinder) and they were up front about not needing the clutch repair right then. The clutch was slipping so I asked them to go ahead and fix the clutch at the same time. Also purchased their car care package since it needed an oil change too. With the coupons that were in it for the clutch repair I ended up paying an extra $5 and now have 7 more oil changes to use for no extra charge. Car is running beautifully!

These guys are great! Very respectful, and very honest, even when it meant telling me NOT to get my brakes done yet because they still had a few months left on them. I brought my other vehicle in and got pads and rotors, and was very pleased with both the work and the price. They have coffee, TV, and free wifi (at their Beaverton location) in case you need to hang out for a while. You won't go wrong if you choose these guys.

I tell you, the person at the desk was so friendly and I feel confident that they did a good job. Reviews I read on Yelp were very positive. I only got an oil change but they seemed to handle it very competently and explained what they had done, without that sense you get from some "fast" change places that you have just been taken and you can't be confident in what they've done. In the end, with an oil change, only time will tell, but the feeling here was they were respectful and knowledgeable and left me feeling I had gotten what I had paid for and more!

Went to these guys mostly based on reviews from Yelp, and I was not disappointed. We needed a brake job with new rotors, and had estimates already, but Clutch & Brake Doctors beat our estimates considerably, and as a result, we ended up spending more on additional services. These guys got it all done in day and were friendly, and easy to work with. So glad we found a good shop! This is the first place I'm heading to now for auto work.

I cannot express how great this place is. As a female anything automotive puts me on edge because I don't want to get taken advantage of; but I've never felt that way here. Man, this place. I'm pretty hard on mechanics. The last one I had work on my car I'm pretty sure was sweaty and teary by the end of the transaction. I know just enough about cars to be a tough customer but not enough so they can't pull the wool over my eyes.
I went into Clutch Doctor saying I needed brake pads and rotors. While I was signing in I remembered I also had an oil leak. They called me back later and told me my rotors are fine and that the leak was a minor issue. A lesser mechanic would've just taken my money for the rotors. They were also incredibly affordable, courteous, and fast. I won't be taking my car anywhere else. Bonus points for a traditional mechanic being willing to discuss the future of electric vehicles. I hope someday I can take my Leaf to this guy as well!

Solid 4 stars, I honestly didn't want to give them 5 stars simply b/c I think it's more believable when ppl read and see 4.5 stars, not a solid 5. And I'll be honest, seeing 5 stars but 43 reviews caught my attention to dig further but I initially thought "this is too good to be true, a auto repair shop with 5-star rating? Something is fishy". Well, I can say at least for brake service, they are not fishy at all, they are honest with all the questions I asked and were not pushy or tried to sell me other repair work like brake fluid flush or whatever just b/c I needed pads.
So basically I have a 2005 Subaru Outback and I started hearing some squeaking noise with my brakes and sure enough, they were down to 15% and had to be replaced, at least the front. They were honest and said my rear brakes were closer to 25-30% and it could wait so I didn't need to do all 4 pads today.
But I decided to do all 4 after calling around to other shops in the area. BY FAR they were the lowest in terms of labor costs compared to bigger name shops you see on TV commercials. I mean almost 40% cheaper, and an even bigger difference with other shops for the rear brake service. Note this included just resurfacing the rotors, not replacing the rotors which of course is more material cost too.
I didn't even bother calling the Subaru dealership in the area where I bought my car. I'm too afraid to know how much dealerships charge. Brake pads are not that expensive folks for the typical/common Japanese car. Mine was about $35/ea meaning the bulk of the fees were labor. I even asked what brand they carried for my car and he promptly told me these were after-market but I recognized the brand as reputable.
They took a bit longer than expected but it was a busy day. Kevin spent a lot of time with me chatting about various repair work and the typical time and cost and when to start looking out for those normal wear and tear work all cars need. I can also say, I was sort of nosy and listened in on his phone conversations with other customers and again, just his tone, and the way they seem to do business, they come across as honest.
I'll definitely be coming back to this shop and I'm so thankful I found a place I can trust with my Subaru not just based on my own experience but also by numerous others here on Yelp.
Last but not least they have free WiFi and it's pretty fast!!! Probably b/c there's very few ppl on their connection, just an added bonus while you wait. They also have a fairly large projection TV as well.

It was sooo freaking awesome to have an auto shop/manager come in under what I thought it would be and get us in and out in less than an hour!! Even great recos on where to grab a much needed bite to eat in the area while we waited. ROCK ON!!! I will definitely be back here!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND...Thanks Ya'll ;)

Thank you to all the reviewers who gave their candid opinions of not only Clutch Doctors but all the other similar businesses in the area. Their reviews kept me out of potentially problematic repair shops and I liked what I was reading from the customers at Clutch Doctors. They are great! We are new to the area and will be taking all our other cars there from now on.
I did not have brake or clutch repair done today but would not hesitate to recommend this business based on their honest business approach and friendly customer service. They did not insist that we get more work done, the price was very reasonable and making reservations on their website is super easy.
I highly recommend Clutch Doctors!

Came in with a failed starter and they were able to replace it for me same day. Very friendly and professional, also extremely reasonable pricing! The exact same work was quoted to me at the dealership as costing 3x more.
I had originally made an appointment to get my brake pads replaced (it was just a coincidence that my starter failed at the same time) and they told me I was actually fine waiting for another 3-5k miles on those. I've never had an auto repair shop tell me I *didn't* need something done that I was already willing to pay for. I appreciated their honesty and will definitely be coming back when I need more work done.

Went here for a routine oil change. Being that I am a young female, I am used to trying to be sold stuff I don't need. I really appreciate that this place did NOT do that too me.
They have a very comfortable waiting area with a couch and tables, a tv, and a keurig! Also, if you're going to be waiting a white, there is a Things From Another World comic shop right across the street!
The oil change took about 25 minutes and only cost me $25! I will definitely go back for other services. A few days after my service, I received a thank you note and a coupon in the mail!

Very disappointed and extremely frustrated. After all the reviews on here and a glowing recommendation from a friend, I did not expect the hassle that I had to go though.
My car was towed there after the clutch stopped working properly. They diagnosed it as needing a new slave cylinder. They convinced me to replace the master cylinder as well (which doubled the price of my bill).
The night I got the car back, it started acting up again. I had to go out of my way to take it in the next day. They said they saw some fluid and cleaned it up and said it was fine. Then THAT night the clutch completely failed again and had it towed back to them. This time they said an o-ring needed to be replaced and they were over nighting the part and it would be done the next day. Well, something happened and the part didn't come in so the car wasn't ready until 3 days later.
With all of the hassle, headache, and additional expense of a rental car, all that was offered for my inconvenience was not being charged for the o-ring (very inexpensive part) WHICH I am not convinced was the problem in the first place.
I will never take my car back there nor will I recommend them to anyone (quite the opposite).
Update...I had to take it back 2 more times. The first of these times, they bled the system (which should have been done correctly the original time of repair) and this last time they said they can't find anything wrong. I will update again if it is still not fixed. Taking it to them FIVE times for the same problem is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous (with no kind of customer service for all the additional time and money it has cost me by going to them).

A great shop. I went in to see about needing a new clutch. They couldn't replicate my problem, and advised me that my clutch was not slipping, and was fine. They recommended just replacing the master, and slave cylinder which from my internet research was what I determined was probably the problem.
It took a few hours, but I didn't mind the wait. I have been in quite a few shops lately getting tires, brakes, and a few other things. The waiting area was very welcoming, and not a let's throw a 20 year old tube tv, rabbit ears, and a few magazines and call it good.
They had a comfy couch, and a table with bar height chairs perfect for using your laptop with the free wifi. The TV was a very large TV (probably at least 50 inch) with cable. It also had a Keurig coffee maker.
I have to say even the bathroom was spotless, and smelled very clean. I will be recommending this place to anyone I hear needing a clutch, or brakes, or an oil change.
While I waited I heard Kevin the manager interact with many customers, and he was just great. Keep up the great work your customers appreciate it.

I took my car in to have the brakes serviced. I needed new pads and rotors on the front, and a speed sensor on the back. I wasn't surprised, the brakes were in a bad state. The new brakes are great, and well-installed. I have no complaints about that.
However, after I got the car back, several things went wrong literally as I was leaving the parking lot. I called Kevin, and he was nice enough about it. On the phone, he said it wasn't the result of their work. Then after I brought the car back, he said it was related, but not their fault. And they couldn't fix it because the broken part was no longer being made.
I get it, I have an old car. Things go wrong all the time. But I wish my first experience with this place had been as great as all the 5 star reviews on here.
Bottom line: great brake service, but be cautious if you have an old car.

Best, competitive prices. Honest, speedy service. And we always receive an understandable explanation of our car's issues.
I was told by a mechanic at a different shop that the clutch was probably completely shot, and that his shop charged at least $800 for a replacement. Then he said, "Honestly, Clutch Doctors would probably only run you five to six hundred," and recommended I go there. I told him thank you, and booked it (more like coasted in Neutral as much as possible) to Clutch Doctors and they quoted me $550 for the clutch replacement, but asked to take a free look at it to double check that was the issue.
When they came back they said it was just a hydraulic issue in the clutch system and explained how with the symptoms I was describing that made more sense. Guy at the front said that was only $150 of a repair. Which as you can imagine, was an amazing relief!
Thanks, guys!

I came in for a routine brake service, and it turned out that there was a part that needed replacing. A truly free diagnosis and estimate, booked over the internet. Too good to be true? Not here. I booked my 30 minute free diagnosis on their web site. It gave me a list of open slots for the very next day. I chose one, and when I arrived I was checked in professionally and quickly. I settled in to their cozy but comfortable waiting room and used their wi-fi to connect to my work. Not one but three techs noodled my issue over. They listened to what I knew about the problem and didn't act dismissively at all. The diagnosis required one of them to take my car for a short drive, which he did. The problem on my car is going to be labor intensive to fix, so I haven't decided to pull the trigger yet, but thanks to this super helpful team I now know what I'm up against. I'll be back.

I've been here twice now, and both times were for small repairs. On my first trip I needed them to fix a leak in my power steering fluid and I also needed an oil change. They fixed the leak and charged me zero dollars for it.
Later that day I noticed oil leaking from my car so I called to see if they could check it out (I thought maybe the drain plug was loose or something). They scheduled me in first thing the next morning, and worked on it while I waited. Turns out, the oil pressure switch was leaking - a pretty odd issue, and completely unrelated to the oil change. However, due to the weird coincidence, they discounted the total amount of the repair (which was already cheap)!
My favorite thing, though, is that you can talk to them about what issues you've noticed and they actually listen. These guys know how to make their customers happy, and I am as pleased as punch to have found a place I can trust.

These guys would get five stars. Except for the fact they took on more they can chew with our 2002 Audi. They always did an easy fix on my 1997 Corolla, everything was tip top and the price was right. I guess we were trying to get away with low balling Audi, they're notorious for constant maintenance. This being our first German vehicle we didn't know that there was actually a difference. Special tools are required to remove a variety of components and work on an Audi or VW. Had Eric, one of the guys in charge been there I don't think it would have gone awry as horribly as it did.
They changed the timing chain on the car and after that the check engine light was on. We'd go in and they'd politely turn it off. Then one time they said, well you're engine is filling with oil and its overflowing. One of the cylinders is miss firing, but we can';t figure it out. They'd turn the light off at least.
Finally we decided to try and take it to Hillside Imports which was all German all the time. Turns out that you need special tools to remove the timing change and Clutch Doctors lackey had broken something off in the engine, releasing the oil, and also damaging one of the cylinders.
In short we had to have the timing chain completely redone, along with the spark plugs (because they were full of oil) and the replace the cylinder.
$1200 times two! Thanks guys. I would have rather had someone just say this wasn't the right job, or be honest about the work gone wrong. Ultimately we let it slide because we traded in the Audi for a brand new VW.
All in all I think if you drive an average car like a toyotoa, or honda, ford or chevy, they'll treat it right. If you talk directly with Eric he'll take care of you. They even offered to refund the fee at the second shop if we brought in the receipt (that's pretty stellar) but since we traded the car in we just cut our losses.

He thoroughly explained what had occurred, and assured us that the car was safe and in good condition. There was no charge for the evaluation.
We appreciated Kevin's honesty and integrity! We were so impressed that he did not attempt to sell us unnecessary repairs, and had us back on the road in less than 30 minutes! We would highly recommend this business!

Kevin and his team are AWESOME! Best prices around and super quality work. I got my timing belt on a civic done here for $80 cheaper than anyone else - using the same parts! Very friendly and detailed. Will definitely be going to Kevin and his team for as long as I am around this area.

HONEST. TRUSTWORTHY. EXCELLENT SERVICE. That really says it all. These guys are the real deal and have earned my business for life.
I went to Clutch Doctors based on their excellent reviews on Yelp, seeking a second opinion on a rear axle replacement for my Lexus GX470. The dealership quoted me an outrageous amount and I needed to know if I was getting screwed over.
Kevin and team were outstanding! They quickly diagnosed the problem and quoted me a total that was $1,000 less than the dealer! They even patiently worked with my auto warranty company for several days as we attempted to get them to cover the repair. They did not charge me extra for the time they spent with the warranty company's inspector. I'm pretty sure any other shop would have billed me for every minute spent.
Kevin is awesome at keeping customers informed of the status of their repairs and not jerking you around with extra fees. They are straight shooters and I felt completely comfortable every step of the way.
Clutch Doctors came in exactly on quote (again a full ONE THOUSAND dollars less than the dealer!) I'm done messing with the Lexus dealership and will only take my vehicles to Clutch Doctors from now on!

Honest and outstanding workmanship! After moving here from CA and taking my car to the dealer for an oil change and coming out with a $1500.00 estimate of other things wrong with my "newish" car, I Googled around and found the Clutch and Brake Doctors. Less than $300 later, and a full explanation that nothing else was wrong with my car, they gained a customer for life!

This is a LONG overdue review, but I wanted to put it in nonetheless! I had used Cutch Doctors for the first time over a year ago to replace a clutch on my 91 Accord. They were very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable! So they were the people I sought out after my car experienced some MAJOR flooding issues. Kevin and Eli were so patient with me (I was living in Hawaii at the time, so had to figure out everything over the phone!) they really went the extra mile for me and I really trust their expertise!

Awesome! I went there for a brake repair, based mostly on their Yelp review. I have to say that the positive reviews are accurate. I had a great experience. They are knowledgeable and honest, and set the right expectations with you. They also found something else wrong with my brake system and went out of their way at no extra expense to help me figure out the issue. I'll be back!

I've been here three times now and each time they have taken care of the issue that I came in for quickly, and for a fair price. The last time I asked them to change my oil as well as fix my brakes I figured it would be easy since they had the car any way. Somehow it got overlooked when I checked the invoice it was not listed as completed and I did get charged but I had to go to Oil Can Henry's on lunch to get it done.. If not for that I would have rated them a five.

They were friendly, personable and best of all, did not try to rip me off by selling me unnecessary products or services. I mainly needed my brake pads changed but I also asked them to check some other things out that was not working on my car. They explained everything they did and did not charge me for anything other than the brake pads & service. Waiting room was comfortable. I would definitely go back there again.

I had my first experience at this place this week and I am quite pleased with the results. The service was friendly and fast. They were straight forward and honest with me, and I noticed this trend with other customers as I waited for my vehicle. What pleased me the most is that I received the same quality repairs and warranty that the dealership would have provided, for half the cost I was quoted at the dealership. No unnecessary up selling or foggy details about what I need or don't need. Honest folks, getting shit done for a great price. I'm in.

Thanks to the multiple positive reviews for Clutch Doctors I was able to save myself some time and money by going straight to them. Over the weekend the car wouldn't turn over (just made a whirring noise) but all the lights seemed to be working. Brought it in after a jump and found out the dealership I bought it from never replaced the 6 year-old battery. Clutch Doctors was able to take of me relatively quickly (about a hour) and reassured me based on their inspection that there was nothing else wrong with it. Thanks to the yelp deal I saved $25 too, so the parts and labor ended up being under $100. Would highly recommend to others!

We had our brakes replaced at Brake Doctors and couldn't be happier with the service and pricing. After doing a bunch of research on different businesses we chose them based off their ratings. We made the right choice.
The Manager Eric and Kevin are amazing and beyond professional. If you go anywhere else for brake service then you are making a mistake. They have earned our business for good. They had our van in and out within 2 hours of diagnosing the issue.

These guys are amazing. I went in because it was the closest place to my work and my car was in deep trouble. The manager was actually nice, and not condescending like many mechanics can be to women. They were fair, swift, and did a great job. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to a friend, and will certainly go there again in the event of future car trouble (knock on wood).

They do so much more than just clutch and brake work like their name suggests. Do you want a team that is honest, customer focused and does great work at a fair price? Today I had my thermostat changed on my 2006 Ford Fusion. Of course Ford buries it to where the average fix it guy can't get to it without a shop. I've also taken my car here to have the rear brakes replaced. Both times I brought my car right in without an appointment. Both times they took care of me within hours. The prices are reasonable. I called around and they were exactly how much everyone else was going to charge. And to be honest with you if it was higher I would've paid more to take it to a place I can trust. I definitely get a little paranoid when it comes to just anyone working on my car. I know, I have trust issues. Kevin is the man at the front desk. He really sets the tone for this business as the first point of contact.

I took my 2005 Honda to them, needing an oil change, a fix on a brake light, and a fix for a strange annoying high pitched noise the car made at speed. I'm visiting the area, and had a bad experience a few years ago with a mechanic who knew I wasn't going to be staying in the area and replaced some of my original car parts with junkier things, so I don't like sharing that I won't be in the area with service people. I'm embarrassed now that I even worried. They couldn't have been more thorough or professional, and clearly care about doing great work. I nearly fell over when my bill was only $25. If I ever do move to PDX, or visit again, I know where I will come for car repairs. Lucky locals who can use these folks all the time!!!

Should you ever decide to save yourself a few bucks and do your own brakes too, this is the place to save your ass!
After tiring of alerting my entire apartment complex when I was soon approaching so much so that my dog would begin to whimper when I was 2 blocks out I decided it was time to make a change. With the sunday sun pumping me full of D.I.Y.ness I thought I would spend an hour of my afternoon changing my front brakes. Of course this actually took me to the waning hours of the evening and included myself, my fiance', my neighbor (whom I often see under his own vehicles) and my apartment manager, a mix of tools that could only come from lifelong apartment dwellers, a few left-over parts, a few missing parts, a busted knuckle, a bruised ego, and of course squishy brakes!
Fortunately, Eric the manager of the Clutch Dr.'s was kind enough to save me from myself. Took my rig, ordered the parts that I had broken, added the parts that I had missed, and magically removed the squishyness. Now my wheels spin freely like they are supposed too (only one did when he initially put the rig up) and even better stops when its supposed to.
They were friendly, conscientious of my time, explained everything, what they were doing, what I did wrong, and did it with grace and tact without being condescending. All at a great price. I will definitely keep bringing my vehicle back to them.

I am thrilled with the service I got at Clutch Doctors. The customer service is excellent, they are friendly and on top of things! I especially appreciated how they explained the issues with my car in an understandable, clear way. I didn't feel like I was getting cheated or forced to buy something my car didn't need (unfortunately that has happened too many times in the past). I will definitely be going back for a long time and recommending them to anyone who is in need of a good car place!

Absolutely, absolutely LOVE this non-franchised business!
I would give them 6 stars if I could! they are awesome!
If you have any misgivings with trusting your vehicle and think all mechanics are out to swindle your money from ya then PLEASE give this small business a shot.
I have always had excellent work done on my tiny old car and they warranty it (every service is different) and if something goes wrong they have the balls to face it, say sorry, and then PROMPTLY fix it. They truly care for you.
Kevin the owner answers the phone and is always willing to talk to you. He is a sweety (he comes on rough but don't fall for it) and has helped me figure out what services to do and which ones can wait for my care. I am a chick and cars are not my thing. But with Kevin's help and his team's my car is in tip top shape.
Give this business a try and you won't regret it! I highly recommend them to anyone.

I went to them for an oil change and tire rotation; no problem. They recommended a new battery and transmission flush, and I went back to do that a few weeks later. I was just staying in oregon for the summer, so I did it before I returned to the south. I assumed everything was fine, and when I got back I was going to refill my wiper fluid and noticed they didn't change the battery!!! They charged me $100 for a battery they never gave me. Wonder if they actually changed the transmission fluid...

I am so grateful for Clutch Dr. on SW Canyon road. I was referred to that location by a fellow working at Baxter auto parts, and I feel so very, very glad to find an old fashioned mechanics shop with integrity and knowledge. I feel I am treated with respect. I have taken two of our cars there for brake work so far, and when the warranty is up on the third, we will get our work done at Clutch Dr. What a relief to have a source of quality repairs on all of our cars!

I went here for a Pre-buy inspection. I was very happy with the service. It was about $40, and they did a thorough job. They found a whole lot of things wrong with the car, and they weren't afraid to say it, in spite of the fact that it was coming from a big dealership down the road. The guy who did our service (Kevin) was a straight shooter, the type of guy you want working on your car. Although I myself don't have a ton of experience with mechanics, my dad went with me, and he was very impressed. I definitely give them the highest rating.

Amazing customer service! I had seen the sign for the shop while driving by and took my car in having not read any reviews....but again, amazing! Kevin took great care of my Honda and the turn around was so quick - I was back at work in two hours. Price was great and I bought the extended service package and now have my hometown mechanic in place.

Don't be mislead by the name of the company. There is very little that they do not do (e.g. rebuilding a transmission). We've taken our cars to Eric at the Clutch & Brake Doctors in Beaverton for over 10 years. How do you spell integrity? "E-R-I-C" Learn the name and ask for him when you visit. Never in a million years will you find a better mechanic who has your back like him. Eric would rather walk through hot coals than see you pay for a service or a repair job that your car doesn't need. He takes care of you as if you were his mother! If he gives you an estimate, it's the real deal. He'll save you money using quality parts and he stands by his work. There is so much straightforward honesty in this man's character . . . I tell you, if he moved away to Timbuktu, that's how far I'd ship my car to have him do the maintenance. The owner of the Clutch & Brake Doctors is a very nice man --and lucky to have such a manager. Tell Eric that Bill & Colleen sent you!

Where do I begin? I was referred to the Clutch & Brake Doctors by my brother. The radiator in my car had a leak, so I went there to have it replaced. AWESOME customer service! When all the dash lights came on unexpectedly one morning, I knew where to have my car towed to. Not only did they diagnose the problem and provide options for how to fix the problem, but they must have worked overtime to get the job done as quickly as they did (I needed a new engine). When I picked it up, they didn't treat me like a 'dumb girl', they carefully explained what I might see/experience while the engine was adjusting & answered my questions thoroughly. I've never been treated as respectfully by any other shop - and the work they've done is fantastic. I'm back on the road and am extremely grateful to Kevin, Eli, Jeff & team for the work they did and the kindness along the way. Even if you only need an oil change, go see these guys - you won't regret it.

I had recently brought my car into the Honda dealership to have some minor work done. Upon completion, was told that I needed to have my clutch replaced asap. I wasn't even having problems with my clutch in the first place! They told me it was $1600. I asked how long I had to put this off as it is a large expense. I was told 2 weeks maximum. Uh, okay, so we scrambled to figure out what to do and decided to get a second opinion. We brought the car in to Erik at the Clutch Doctors and in short, were told that we did not need a new clutch at this time! He said that we had about 20,000 miles still left on the clutch we have. He said that there was a part that is a little faulty, but it does not require us to replace a clutch "asap" within "2 weeks".... on the contrary, he said it will probably last 2 years. Thank you Erik for saving us $1600. We appreciate your honest work ethic. See you when we need a new clutch!!!!
