Service was poor. Sat waiting today for 15 minutes in the waiting room watching the guy behind the counter get sassy with the printer while talking to some people about alaska and he stated " this is why i drink every night" , guess the printer was getting the best of him but ill cut to the chase. He finally asked what i needed and it was a simple task took me 10 min at home but at the time i was unsure. The guy told me he couldnt do it would be 50 bucks for a simple task 50 dollar ship fee. What a bunch of crap so much for thinkin you guys were good. I had cash and allot of it to mister. You just not good with selling your business man.

My wife, daughter and son are travelling from Tyler, TX to Tacoma, WA. They are making the trip in a used car we bought for our daughter who is a student in Tacoma. The car does well most of the trip but fails to run after getting gas in Yakima (Chevron on 16th), early evening about 7. Our insurance gets them a tow truck and recommends Yakima Automotive. As soon as the repair shop opens the next day the crew look at the car, determine the problem, and get them back on the road by 11 AM. They reach Tacoma by 2 PM. What great service!! My wife says the crew was just friendly and she was treated with top priority in her distress. I wish to give a big shout out to Yakima Automotive for all their help in our time of need.

I took my car there with the promise of getting it back by the end of the day. I didn't hear anything back by near the end of the day so I called and they said they couldn't find the lug nut key, which means they hadn't even started on it yet. I finally got it back towards the end of the following day, then I took it for the first drive of any amount and after about 20 miles, things started falling apart. I took it back to them that night and left the key with them and at first they couldn't find anything wrong. They took it for a drive and didn't notice anything! I told them it was a LOUD noise, kind of hard to miss! They finally found the problem. It was the part they put in initially that came apart, and, of course, "it wasn't their fault at all. The part was a dud"........ They replaced that and it drove fine with the exception of the fact that it was so bad out of alignment that after 1200 miles I needed new tires. Of course "none of it was their fault again" (Don't worry, Les Schwab fixed that issue). My experience here was all around bad, from not keeping their word on when they would get it back to me, to the fact that they didn't take responsibility for anything. Perhaps they are good mechanics and good people, but not in my experience. If you want it done right by people with good business etiquette, don't go here.

I was traveling through town for work, and my "check oil" light came on. I did a quick search and found these guys close by. Despite not having an appointment, they checked my fluids, topped off the oil and wiper fluid, and sent me on my way in less than 10 minutes. What a pleasant surprise. Thanks!!

I can't honestly review the work this business does, since I didn't end up taking my car in there. But I can tell you something about their attitude, and that counts for a lot:
I ran into trouble with my oil pressure and some stalling half-way through a five-hour drive to Seattle, and ended up at a rest area a few miles past Yakima, concerned about whether I should go on. I got the numbers of some repair shops from AAA and made arrangements for a tow, for which they told me I'd probably have to wait two hours.
So at 4:55 p.m. on a Friday afternoon, after getting no answer at two other shops, I called Yakima Automotive and found myself talking to Nathan. He took a good 10-15 minutes finding out exactly what the problem was and gave me some very good advice that allowed me to cancel the tow, address the problem, and finish my trip. Even when it was clear that I probably would not be bringing the car into his shop, he made sure I understood exactly what the issues were and seemed genuinely concerned that I get home safely and with the least expense and inconvenience.

I was pleasantly surprised when Bob and his great staff could fit in an oil change on short notice for my daughter who was visiting for the day.
Since it had been a while since we'd had any car repairs, their mechanics ran a thorough check on the car and found a number of issues that we needed to address.
I appreciated the friendly and professional care given by the staff! I'd highly recommend Yakima Automotive for your next auto repair in Yakima! They'll get your car fixed in a jiffy :)
