I brought my f-150 in many times due to lack of maintenance on my part, the staff at L&L are top notch and always had the knowledge to get me up and running again. If you live in the Coachella valley and are not using L&L automotive as your auto mechanic that's your loss.

They are saviors, while traveling from bay area on a return trip home(1700 miles) towing a trailer, my dodge diesel had an injector fail. On a Saturday I found another company that was open, I had to help them diagnose which injector and order the part myself to avoid a very large mark up. The other company installed the new injector but failed to properly install it. Which left me broke down, and required another tow. L&L were able to properly diagnose the ill-installed injector, charged a reasonable price, was knowledgeable, had a real shop with bricks, concrete floors, techs that had clean uniforms, and licensing, all the things the other place didn't. Thank you L&L. If your looking for diesel service DO NOT USE SH!TTY'S truck and rv repair come here to L&L

Vince at L and L takes care of me all the time! They know what they're doing here and most importantly, they're honest. They may be a little more than the next mechanic price-wise, but nothing like taking your car to the dealer. I would rather pay a little extra to get it right the first time knowing they're not trying to upsell me or overcharge me ( yes, Jiffy lube, I'm talking about you) Definitely recommend!

Got an alternator for a 2001 astro van done here today. It was 412$. I really needed the car so I agreed. They had it ready within a few hours. Everything seems to be working properly which is awesome. However, everyone is telling me 236 for that alternator and 150 for labor plus supplies and taxes is too much. But hey I needed it done fast, so I look at it that way. All in all, three stars for installing the alternator, minus two for the steep price. I live to see another day! Yaaaay!

Staying in town for just the weekend and my truck threw a code. Didn't realize I showed up after hours, but Larry the owner took the time to make sure my family and I would be safe on our return trip to San Diego. Can't thank him enough, if I were local I would give him all of my business. Honest and reasonable!

Horrible customer service. Maybe they do good work, can't say for myself because they never follow up or say what they're gonna do. This was my second attempt with these guys. Once called in a couple months back to get a quote to change a steering gearbox out. Gal who answered couldn't give me a price, said the person who could was busy and would call me back in 15min. Okay no biggie. 30mins go by, no call. I call back again. They say he is still busy, will call back in about 20mins...okaaaay....1hour later no return call. That's BS. Decided to give them a second chance today and drove to their shop to get a quote in person, thought I would have better luck this way. Tried to get a quote on some bushings to be replaced. Guy came out looked at what needed to be done. Says they can do it but the person who will give me the price isn't in right now but will be back in about an hour....I feel like I've heard that before. Left my info with the gentleman and went on my way expecting a call in an hour or so...never received one. That really pisses me off. If you give me your word that you will call me back, you best call me back, that's how I was raised anyway. Will never give this place any of my business and will be sure to tell everyone I know to stay clear of this place. Zero stars if I could give it.

To me, auto mechanics speak a different language so, naturally, I've always been uncomfortable taking my car in to the doctor when it breaks down. That was until I found L&L. These guys are old school (which I love) but honest and up front. I have had them servicing our whole fleet of work trucks for about two years now and have nothing but good things to say.

Pretty bad attitude I got from the tech taking care of me, who was too busy to care. Constant advertising made me think they wanted my business, vs mechanic telling me how much other work he has, sounds more like they think that at that point it's ok for them to treat me like I don't matter, while they keep running the pervasive radio commercials. How about a fair review to go with it, since I don't appreciate that, & I'm being honest.

Once again the entire team at L&L did an amazing job...only charged us 100 dollars to take a car that wasn't running...at all...to get it running again...trustworthy mechanics are hard to find. We found them at L&L

Great service Experience. In Palm Desert and ready to go back to Portland when our sunroof refused to close. At 4:30PM. I called and they said they'd squeeze me in. 10 minutes and $20 later they were able to get it closed up tight. Would have paid $50! Great People, Great Service.

Vince at L&L was awesome. I have Hyundai Azera that we bought new and have been taking to the dealership for service. This last service at the Dealership, they said we needed new brakes and new front C Joint boots. They quoted us $2,000 for the work after charging us $350 for basically an oil change. We shopped around and found L&L. Vince looked at the car and quoted the same repairs for almost half the dealership price. When we called to go pick up the car, we got a pleasant surprise from Vince. He said we didn't need the new CV Joint boots as they weren't damaged or leaking. Total bill - $450 instead of $2,000! Customer for life. Very positive experience!

This is my first time using them but if the service I got today is the standard, I will give them one of my very, very rare 5 star ratings. I have a Prius hybrid and when I got it there were no independent mechanics that wanted to work on them. So I usually just used Jiffy Lube for basics and went to the dealer for the major service. And I honestly like Toyota of the Desert for their service and high quality staff. But their prices for pretty standard maintenance drove me to look elsewhere. At my 120,000 mile service, the service writer told me that the 12 volt battery had failed the test and that very soon it would be dead. They wanted $248 for the battery and $105 for labor to install it. Now I have installed a few dozen batteries in my vehicles over the years, so while I could maybe swallow that this was a "special" battery worth $248 (it had lasted for 8 years) I could NOT swallow that it was going to take an hour and a half to two hours to change it out. I came home, looked on the internet and found a Youtube video of how to do it in about 15 minutes (if you have the tools.) So I started researching. Long story short, I found Vince and Larry at L& L Automotive through Yelp, called them up and here is the long and the short of it. A. They actually answer their phone with a live person. B. Larry, who picked up, assured me that he could change it out for less than the above quote. C. I dropped by today, thinking I would leave it or make an appt. to come back but Larry tested the battery right then and there and I could see that it was almost shot. D. Vince had a battery delivered within 30 minutes, installed in 15 more. E. Total cost -- $260 - $225 for the battery and $35 for labor. -- a savings of $90, a full 25% less. Super friendly, very professional. And they were busy as heck when I popped in unannounced, too. I will definitely go back. They have made me a fan right out of the box.

Another auto mechanic shop told me I needed master brake cylinder. Took into L and L and they put car on hoist, carefully inspected brakes, lines, calipers, etc and decided to bleed lines before tearing apart the master cylinder. One line had a small amount of air...from last time brakes were changed by another shop- pedal much tighter and clean bill of health. Total charge $20! Thanks to Vince up front and all the great honest mechanics. Integrity deserves highest rating.

Took my car in for some transmission work. Would have been a big job and tons of money at the place I'd been taking it to. These guys got me sorted out and back on the road in a day for less than $200. PS - Noticed some local Police cars being worked on when I drove in and knew I'd found the right place!

The MOST UNBELIEVABLE customer service ever! Vince is such an accommodating person. My jeep wouldn't start and I called around and every place I called wanted to charge me around $100 JUST to look at it. I called L & L Automotive and Vince (the owner) answered the phone and told me he wouldn't charge me anything to diagnose the problem. I dropped my my off there and in a matter of a few hours he called me and told me it was my starter and a small issue with my battery cables. He quoted me $290 which is a GREAT price and I told him to go ahead and do it. He ordered the part and my car was done in no time! When I contacted him to set up a time to pick it up, he told me he got a cheaper price on the part so he dropped the cost down to $276!!! It is SO nice to do business with such honest people. I am going to come here for all future car repairs and I would definitely reccommend them. I am SO HAPPY I came here :)

OK. it's Monday morning and my car breaks down in an area I am totally unfamiliar with. Fortunately, L&L automotive is close by. I lock up my vehicle and walk to the garage. The place is packed with cars and mechanics are scurrying about everywhere. I already was anticipating lots of waiting before anyone even looked at my vehicle. I was sure wrong. As soon as I entered the office a pleasant woman behind the counter greeted me. I explained the situation to her. Almost immediately a mechanic (Larry) appeared and asked me for my keys and began walking out of the shop towards my vehicle. No one asked me to sign any paperwork or agree to a minimum charge. I followed behind Larry as he headed toward my vehicle. He tried the key and it still wouldn't start. Then he opened the hood and took a small screwdriver out of his shirt pocket. Voom! It started! Larry then drove back to his shop and installed a jumper wire as a temporary fix until I had time to have the faulty part replaced. It turns out Larry is the owner of L&L. Total time to get back on the road: 10 minutes! Total charge: $20! Too bad more businesses don't do business like L&L.

My car was overheating whenever I would idle with the AC on. Not a small problem to have when the temps outside are 100F+. I called L and L and spoke with Vince. He had me bring my car in and was able to quickly diagnose the problem - a bad fan clutch. He gave me a quote, ordered the part, and had my car back to me quickly. Great service from a dependable mechanic. Thank you!

I have an Explorer that we've always taken to Palm Springs Motors (where we bought it) and after explaining the issues, we got nothing but a bad $129 car wash (free car wash with service - haha). Seeing what it was going to cost for a transmission, I decided it was time to jump out of our comfort (and convenience) zone and shop around. I've heard about L & L Automotive and after talking with Vince, it was obvious this guy knows is stuff. After taking it in to get worked on, not only was our cost a lot less than Palm Springs Motors, but the service was straight forward, spot on and now I've found a place I'd definitely take my other cars to. It's good to know the person I'm dealing with gets his hands on the vehicle himself and not just some guy with a clip board who reads a "script" of recommendations from a corporate mechanic. And, my wife is happy! I highly recommend L & L Automotive. Great job guys!

Driving in from Oakland CA. And dreaded check engine light came on. After arriving we needed an honest repair garage. We gave up years ago using the dealer. Checked Yelp and found L & L. Spoke with Vince and he said bring it right in for service. To make a long story short they found thee problem repaired the car and charge a very reasonable amount. I gave them a five star rating, but would have been more if available. Super friendly and really know their stuff
